I ordered this 2003 GMC 2500 hd Sierra 4x4 new. I am the only one who has ever really drove it. It is a non smoker and has never had anything spilled in the carpets or seats other than a few drips of coffee around cup holders. It only has about 8-10,000 miles of hauling on it. The rest are just highway miles. This truck is equipped with a 8.1 litre 496 cu. in. gas engine. With a 6sp manual transmission and 410 gears. I have never speed shifted the transmission. The shifter is still firm. It has power mirrors that are heated and they telescope out. AM/FM CD player, cruise control, Dual climate control with cold A/C, tilt wheel, floor mounted 4x4 shifter. Heavy duty gooseneck hitch with removable ball and trailer brake box. Remote keyless entry, power windows, rearwindow defrost. A Rhino Liner that is very durable but has faded quite a bit. And the rear inner fender wells are Rhino lined to. I gave it a premium tuneup at 100,000 miles and put 2 new wheel bearings up front and a new set of monroe premium shocks all around it. With a set of rotors and brake pads up front. It has disc brakes front and rear. The transfer case started leaking so i got that fixed and have receipt. Put a new brake line along frame rail. I have never had any problems with engine. Always ran valvoline regular motor oil in it and changed oil about every 4,000 miles. About every 6 months i run a bottle of techron through the gas tank. It will use a little oil when it starts getting close to oil change. I have replaced fluid in diffs and transmission twice since it was new. Its never been mudded and only went through about 6 inches of water a few times. Also the antifreeze has been changed twice since it was new. I have never noticed no leaks comming from underneath of truck. It has a Hypertech programer in it that does help with fuel mileage and performance a little. But i lost the programer to it and to have it reset to factory specs is around $100 at the GM dealers i talked to. I have a K&N air filter for it but run the paper elements in it. It has been a real good truck for me with no real problems but the transfer case. I just dont need a truck this big and its set up for pulling and it will do that real well. Please email me with any questions you may have or any other pictures you may want. Non refundable $500.00 deposit due within 24 hours of winning bid. Payment due in full within 7 days of auction close. Cash or personal check cashed at your bank if it is local. Will help with delivery if it is local for extra fee. Thank you for looking and happy bidding!!!

Lincoln, GMC clean up in AutoPacific Vehicle Satisfaction Awards

Tue, 17 Jun 2014

In recent years, there have been a lot of dire pronouncements made about Lincoln's future, or a lack thereof. But Ford's premium marque is like the Rocky Balboa of the auto business; every time the company seems ready to go, it comes back for more. Apparently, that dogged persistence is paying off, because the industry analysts at AutoPacific have put a big check in their win column with their newly released 2014 model year vehicle satisfaction survey. And despite recent enmity for its seemingly never-ending recall saga, it appears General Motors knows how to satisfy new owners, too.
In fact, not only was Lincoln named as the premium brand with the highest new owner satisfaction, even scored three models on the list of passenger cars with the most gratified buyers - the MKS, MKZ and MKZ Hybrid.
GM's stable of brands was also among the top companies in this year's survey. GMC was named the top popular brand by AutoPacific, with its Sierra pickup and Acadia crossover singled out for awards in their segments. Chevrolet also did incredibly well, with more cars on the list than any other brand. The Corvette, Camaro, Sonic and Impala all made the cut in their respective categories.

GM pushing back on proposed pickup and SUV brake recall [w/poll]

Tue, 08 Jul 2014

Through the first six months of 2014, General Motors has recalled 29 million cars and trucks in 54 different actions. If your author's notoriously sketchy math is correct, that'd work out to one recall every 3.5 days (as of this writing). GM is actively fighting to make sure there isn't a 55th recall, though.
Safety critics, including perennial nemesis Clarence Ditlow of the Center for Auto Safety, are calling on GM to recall a further six million pickup trucks and SUVs in northerly climes due to corroding brake lines caused by the use of road salt. There is a catch, here, though - the vehicles in question are over 10 years old, and include the 1999 to 2003 Chevrolet Silverado, Suburban and GMC Sierra, as well as the 2000 to 2003 Tahoe and Yukon (shown above).
GM issued the following statement on the matter, obtained by CNN Money:

2015 GMC Yukon Denali

Tue, 25 Mar 2014

Automotive enthusiasts often wonder aloud - ourselves included - why General Motors would choose to keep GMC while sending Pontiac (and Saturn, and even Oldsmobile before it) into the great automotive graveyard in the sky. The answer, as is so often the case, is profit. It's much easier for GM to rake in money hand over fist by rejiggering the trucks, crossovers and SUVs that it would already be developing for Chevrolet and making them a bit more luxurious and *ahem* "Professional Grade" with new grilles, badges and unique packaging for GMC.
While it may sound like we're being cynical, we totally approve of GM's fullsize SUV strategy. The least-expensive way to get into the fold is with the Chevrolet Tahoe, which starts at $45,595 with a 5.3-liter V8 engine and a cloth interior. Bumping that same Chevy to LTZ trim and its $59,995 sticker price lands a much nicer leather-clad interior and more techno-bells and whistles than you can shake a stick at. But it still looks like a Tahoe, and it still comes with the smaller 5.3-liter engine. Or, you could do what we'd do: Walk into your GMC dealer and take a look at the Yukon Denali. Here's why.
