This is a NO RESERVE Auction.

This is a great example of a restored original 3/4 ton 4x4. The aren't many original 3/4 ton 4x4's out there let alone GMC's. This is an original numbers matching frame, cab, and engine. It has the original Dana 44 front and Dana 60 rear end with 4.11 gears and a SMG 465 4 speed manual transmission and NP205 transfer case.  The only modification is a tuff country 4inch lift. The truck was a body on restoration about 10 years ago. It still shows the factory worker crayon marks on the firewall which was purposely not painted. I am the 3rd owner and it was originally a little to no rust St. Louis truck. Any rust was repaired the right way and it was coated with the original color in PPG with 3 coats of base and 3 of clear. The original engine had a mild cam put in it with headers and dual flowmaster exhaust and a HEI distributor. Inside there is a seat cover over the original seat thats still in decent shape, new carpet and insulation, original door panels, and an aftermarket marine grade kenwood. I have also added the Weld Custom Forged wheels and 33inch tires. The wheels are about $700 dollars a piece and are polished aluminum with caps. Everything about this truck was done right and it goes down the road straight, stops well, and gets looks and compliments everywhere i go.

I also have 2 extra 33 by 12.5 Nitto all terrains to go with the truck that are 90%. And i also have all 4 of the original steel wheels for the truck that came with it from the factory, the tires are pretty dry rotted but i do have them. The only piece of nostalgia i dont have for the truck is the "SPID" sticker on the inside of the glove box, it was apparently removed before the repaint. But overall from a collectors standpoint everything else checks out on the truck, and i do have the owners manual as well. I can email additional pictures and answer other questions by email.

PLEASE DO NOT BID IF YOU DONT INTEND TO BUY !

I have it for sale locally and reserve the right to end the auction early if it sells but please bid accordingly.

This truck is a steal for what im asking for it and i have seen trucks in this condition go for almost twice what i need to get out of it.

GM trademarks 'GearOn,' possibly for pickups

Fri, 13 Jun 2014

On May 27, a week before General Motors applied for a trademark for the word "Zora," GM filed a trademark application at the US Patent and Trademark Office for "GearOn," characterized as a "truck bed cargo system comprised of tiered storage cross rails, utility rack stanchions, cargo dividers and cargo tie down rings."
We have no idea what it will be or if we'll see it used on anything, but GM Authority reckons it could be GM's name for a pickup truck feature to rival the BoxLink system Ford introduced on the 2015 F-150. BoxLink has been described as having "dozens of configurations of stowable cargo ramps and lockable die-cast aluminum tie-down cleats," giving owners the ability to arrange the bed in they way they need and load unwieldy items like motorcycles without needing extra equipment.
Getting purely speculative, a month ago GM pickup truck engineers said there would be more and more regular updates for the Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra starting next year. Beyond the suspected capability and fuel economy changes GearOn could be one of the "neat things coming in a whole host of areas."

GM faces possible class action lawsuit over 8-speed transmission

Thu, Apr 25 2019

General Motors has been hit with a class-action lawsuit from owners who allege the eight-speed automatic transmission found in several rear-wheel-drive Chevrolet, Cadillac and GMC models between the 2015 and 2019 model years has a defect that causes the vehicles to hesitate and jerk when accelerating or slowing down. The lawsuit was posted to ClassAction.org and spotted by GM Authority. Problems with GM's Hydra-Matic 8L90 and 8L45 transmissions have been well-documented on Internet forums and via complaints filed with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, with many reporting damage to their vehicles. The lawsuit was first filed in December in U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida but appears to have been transferred recently to New York. Autoblog sought comment from Theodore Leopold, the lead attorney for the plaintiffs. "These transmissions have a common defect," the complaint reads. "Drivers attempting to accelerate or decelerate their cars feel a hesitation, followed by a significant shake, shudder, jerk, clunk, or 'hard shift' when the vehicle's automatic transmission changes gears." The problem also occurs when the vehicles accelerate in a single gear, without shifting, the plaintiffs allege. "Drivers have reported that the shift is sometimes so violent, they feel as though they have been hit by another vehicle." The problem is believed to center on the transmission, torque converter or both. The complaint says it causes undue friction, causing hydraulic systems and gears to function improperly and sometimes leaves metal shavings throughout the transmission, leading to costly repairs and replacement of parts or the entire transmission. It says GM has known about the problems since shortly after it introduced the transmissions, and has issued 13 technical service bulletins, none of which have resolved the problem. GM declined to comment on the lawsuit. The plaintiffs say GM should have warned consumers about the issues and covered repairs under each vehicle's three-year/36,000-mile bumper-to-bumper warranty. They're seeking statewide classes in at least six states: California, Florida, Illinois, New York, Oklahoma and Texas.

GM offering factory-backed extended warranty for Chevys, GMCs, Buicks and Cadillacs

Mon, Oct 15 2018

Cars are generally more reliable than ever before. When things do go wrong, every automaker offers some form of factory warranty (in most cases at least three years and 36,000 miles, though many extend even longer), providing peace of mind to new-car buyers that many faults will be fixed at no charge to the customer. Starting today, GM is offering a new optional plan that will extend the factory warranty on all new Chevy, GMC, Buick and Cadillac products. In the past, extended warranties have been offered as dealer add-ons, with all profits from these sales going to the dealership. GM's new program can be viewed as another nail in the the looming dealership-model coffin. According to Automotive News, some dealers aren't happy to see GM cut into their business like this, saying that it helps GM far more than it does dealers. GM says the new program will help keep customers in the GM family. Customers are also more likely to visit a GM service center rather than going to an independent repair shop. Currently, new Chevy and GMC vehicles come with three-year/36,000-mile warranties. Buicks and Cadillacs are covered for 4 years or 50,000 miles. The new program extends Chevy and GMC warranties to five years or 60,000 miles. Buick and Cadillac warranties extend to six years or 70,000 miles. GM, citing IHS Markit, says most owners keep new cars for about 6.8 years, so these warranties will cover most of the length of their ownership. The extended warranty will add between $1,000 and $2,000 to the price of a vehicle, and the additional cost can be rolled into the vehicle's purchase or lease price. Unlike many dealer extensions, the factory program covers the vehicle no matter who owns it. That should help increase the car's resale value if it's sold within the covered timeframe. GM says there's no deductible and no need to file a claim form when getting warranty repairs. Additionally, dealerships can continue to sell their own extended warranties or service contracts.
