I am selling my 1998 GMC Sierra 1500 extended cab 3 door lifted truck. 2005 DENALI GRILL AND THE 2005 DENALI INTERIOR PACKAGE, NAVIGATION ETC. I just put over $5,000 into lifting it 7" and changing the gears also so it still hauls ass despite the bigger tires. no loss of power. Has the $500 K&N air filter, 113,000 original miles, I'm second owner. I bought it from a guy who worked for GM and he babied this truck, been vermy well taken care of always serviced on time and at GMC dealer. 2wd, grey interior, shifter has been moved to the floor due to 2005 denali interior package being put in the interior. also changed the grill to a 2005 grill so it looks newer. fog lights, rhino lining, trailer or camper hook ups already there so u just plug it in and your connected. Tow package, has 7" fabtech lift on it from 4 wheel parts, have ALL receipt. RIMS AND 36" bf Goodrich all terrain tires that have about 3,000 miles on them. overall truck is in excellent condition. super clean inside, outside, under the hood and under the truck itself. 3 door meaning back door on passenger side opens. rear sliding window, tinted windows (legal I think), has the chrome running board thingys along both sides of the truck to step up into it. i'm only selling due to family emergency this has been such a great truck I will be so sad to see it go if I had my way id keep it forever these trucks are the best my opinion. also have the set of 4 books that show every nut bolt and washer on the truck the set was $400.00 for these books. come in very handy they tell u everything u need to know about the truck. The only thing i've had to replace was fuel pump and that was done about 3 months ago. I did buy the OEM fuel pump of course so that's good for another 20 years. Must see rides beautiful and has a lot of power. its the 5.7 liter engine .KBB value is $9800

Detroit 3 to implement delayed unified towing standards for 2015

Mon, 10 Feb 2014

Car buyers have a responsibility to be well-informed consumers. That's not always a very simple task, but some guidelines are self-evident. If you live in a very snowy climate, you generally know a Ford Mustang or Chevrolet Camaro might not be as viable a vehicle choice as an all-wheel drive Explorer or Traverse, for example. If you want a fuel-efficient car, it's generally a good idea to know the difference between a diesel and a hybrid. But what if it's kind of tough to be an informed consumer? What if the information you need is more difficult to come by, or worse, based on different standards for each vehicle? Well, in that case, you might be a truck shopper.
For years, customers of light-duty pickups have had to suffer through different ratings of towing capacities for each brand. For 2015 model year trucks, though, that will no longer be a problem. According to Automotive News, General Motors, Ford and Chrysler Group have announced that starting with next year's models, a common standard will be used to measure towing capacity. The Detroit Three will join Toyota, which adopted the Society of Automotive Engineers' so-called SAE J2807 standards way back in 2011.
The standard was originally supposed to be in place for MY2013, but concerns that it would lower the overall stated capacity for trucks led Detroit automakers to pass. Ford originally passed, claiming it'd wait until its new F-150 was launched to adopt the new standards, leading GM and Ram to follow suit. Nissan, meanwhile, has said it will adopt the new standards as its vehicles are updated, meaning the company's next-generation Titan should adhere to the same tow ratings as its competitors.

GM updating fullsize pickups for 2015

Sat, 10 May 2014

As Ford prepares to hit the market with its x-factor, aluminum-intensive F-150 and Ram sales stand tall enough to meet General Motors truck sales eye-to-eye, GM is putting the word out that it's going to add more features to its trucks and do so more regularly. An executive engineer for pickups told reporters that "a whole array" of changes are on the way as soon as the 2015 model year and then would likely come "the year after that, the year after that, the year after that."
Only GM knows the way it plans to go with its fullsize trucks, with almost everyone else - including its dealers - griping about market share at the same time as they applaud profits and hope for clarity and growth. GM raised prices on the Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra not long after launch even as it was losing market share and getting called "the least successful large pickup launch over the last 15 years," further upsetting dealers, then Ram outsold the Silverado in March of this year and led GM to increase incentives. But transaction prices rose with the premium; in the first quarter of this year more than 37 percent of the trucks costing more than $40,000 were the Silverado and Sierra, leading one dealer to say of the Sierra, "You can't sell a cheap one," and the analyst who made that "least successful launch" comment to opine, "GM may have made the right call to go for price over share."
We won't know for a few months what any of these updates will be, but the rumored changes for the Silverado and Sierra appear to cover all the bases, including appearance, capability and fuel economy. Rumors run to higher gear counts, stop-start technology and diesel engines before brand-new pickups come for the 2019 model year, those next-generation models supposedly to be engineered with a lot more aluminum.

2015 GMC Yukon Denali

Tue, 25 Mar 2014

Automotive enthusiasts often wonder aloud - ourselves included - why General Motors would choose to keep GMC while sending Pontiac (and Saturn, and even Oldsmobile before it) into the great automotive graveyard in the sky. The answer, as is so often the case, is profit. It's much easier for GM to rake in money hand over fist by rejiggering the trucks, crossovers and SUVs that it would already be developing for Chevrolet and making them a bit more luxurious and *ahem* "Professional Grade" with new grilles, badges and unique packaging for GMC.
While it may sound like we're being cynical, we totally approve of GM's fullsize SUV strategy. The least-expensive way to get into the fold is with the Chevrolet Tahoe, which starts at $45,595 with a 5.3-liter V8 engine and a cloth interior. Bumping that same Chevy to LTZ trim and its $59,995 sticker price lands a much nicer leather-clad interior and more techno-bells and whistles than you can shake a stick at. But it still looks like a Tahoe, and it still comes with the smaller 5.3-liter engine. Or, you could do what we'd do: Walk into your GMC dealer and take a look at the Yukon Denali. Here's why.
