1997 Gmc Sle Red Pickup Truck. Like Chevrolet Georgia Rust Free on 2040-cars
Sharpsburg, Georgia, United States
1997 GMC SLE PICKUP TRUCK 1997 GMC SLE 2 wheel drive. 350 engine, automatic. This is a Southern Georgia truck so no rust issues. Has not been abused. Not used as a truck. The only thing that the truck pulled is a small bass boat. Has factory tow package with a 4 prong light hook up and a large round connector. Not smoked in so no funny smells. The original leather interior is very clean with no carpet stains or carpet wear. Original floor mats. The original leather is soft and in good condition. The leather has been conditioned since new. All of the power options work including the cruise control. The original paint looks great and has also been well maintained. There is a small quarter size dent on front fender above the molding on the fender and a small scrape by the rear tail light on the drivers side. Neither one is bad but still there. Other wise the body looks great and the paint finish is really nice. What you see in the photos is the way the truck looks in person. The tires are not new but in good condition. Accident free. All of the glass is clean and clear with no cracks or chips. All of the chrome is bright and in good condition. All of the fluids are clean and clear and no oil or fluid leaks. The truck runs and drives the way it did in 97. There are no issues with the truck. Overall a great driving anywhere truck. I live 30 minutes from the Atlanta airport and can meet you there if you did buy it. You can drive home anywhere with full confidence. Feel free to call me at 770-722-5329 with any questions. |

Satisfaction with dealer service rises, Lexus and GMC are tops
Thu, 14 Mar 2013During the economic downturn, many car dealerships counteracted their slowing income by focusing on things that would set them apart from competition - things like the quality of customer service they provide. When the economy picked up and more sales and service followed, many also first invested those funds back into the business, improving their dealership facilities and service centers.
It looks like those investments are paying off, as J.D. Power and Associates' latest Customer Service Index Study shows that overall consumer satisfaction with dealer service has increased to 797 (on a 1,000-point scale), up from 787 in 2012 and 29 points higher than the score in 2011. The study also finds that people are more satisfied with the service they get at dealerships compared to independent service providers, despite the much higher average out-of-pocket cost per visit ($118 vs. $44).
Note, however, that this study only looks at how people are treated by a dealer's service department during the first three years of ownership (the survey is based on responses from 91,000 owners and lessees of 2008 to 2012 model year vehicles), so we're talking about the experience had when bringing a car in for repair or maintenance work, most likely under warranty. In fact, maintenance work is increasing in share and accounted for 77 percent of service visits (up from 72 percent in 2012 and 63 percent in 2011). This helps explain why customer satisfaction has also risen, since a properly maintained car is one that's less likely to require a dealer visit for an unexpected repair.
370,000 new Silverado and Sierra pickups recalled over fire risk
Fri, 10 Jan 2014General Motors announced late Friday that it will recall around 370,000 Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra fullsize pickups from the 2014 model year over a possible fire risk. The recall covers select 4.3-liter V6 and 5.3-liter V8 models, which can evidently suffer engine compartment fires due to the overheating of exhaust components. GM notes that the fire issue may be preceded by a check engine light and an "engine power reduced" message on the driver information display.
Thus far, GM is aware of eight fires stemming from this problem (although only three of those incidents affected customer-owned vehicles), and all of the fires were reported in areas with "very cold weather." GM is urging owners to not leave their vehicles unintended while idling. No injuries have resulted from the fires in question.
The Detroit-based automaker has pledged to start mailing out recall letters on January 16. The fix, which involves software reprogramming, is estimated to be a 20-minute repair, and will be made free of charge.
GM recalling another 2.7 million vehicles in five separate campaigns
Thu, 15 May 2014The recalls keep rolling in from General Motors, evidently keen to avoid repeating the mistakes of the ignition-switch debacle and clean house. This time they're all coming at once, with five separate recalls announced together covering approximately 2.7 million vehicles.
The largest of the five actions involves over 2.4 million units of the previous-generation Chevrolet Malibu and Malibu Maxx, Pontiac G6 and Saturn Aura in order to fix brake light wiring harness, which have been found to be susceptible to corrosion. The recall is separate from the 56k Aura sedans which GM recently recalled over faulty shift cables, not to mention the previous massive recall of 1.3 million vehicles - some of them the same models - but appears to have resulted from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration investigation that started with the G6 almost a year ago.
The second-largest campaign involves the 2014 Chevy Malibu, specifically those fitted with GM's 2.5-liter engine and stop/start system, approximately 140,000 examples of which has been found to have problematic brakes. The issue does not appear to be connected to the recall of 8k Malibu and Buick LaCrosse sedans (also involving brake woes) which we reported upon last week. Four crashes have been reported in such models, but GM admits it's not yet clear if the problem was a contributing factor in the accidents.
