1990 GMC SIERRA 1500 Stepside

5.7 Liter 350 motor - throttle body fuel injected - runs perfect

700R4 Automatic transmission with overdrive - shifts perfectly

Freezing cold air conditioning and hot heat

Power windows - the windows go up and down effortlessly and are on track - all the windows have brand new 20% tint on them

Excellent interior with no cracks in the dash or windshield and no holes in the seats or carpet. Very clean.

The motor has no leaks of any kind - no stop leak in the radiator - all of the fluids are clean and fresh.

New exhaust from the manifold to the muffler. Sounds good.

New brakes on all four wheels.

Perfect working cruise control.

The bed has a rubber floor mat and is Rhinolined all the way to the edge.

The tailgate opens and shuts effortlessly. No need to slam.

Has a tow package though I have never used it to pull anything.

No sag in the doors - you do not have to slam them shut.

Brand new aftermarket clear tail lights. Brand new head lights and signal lights in the front.

All four tires are in very good condition on brand new SS chrome wheels in perfect shape with all centers.

This truck runs and drives like a brand new truck. There is not a speck of rust anywhere. The only flaws are these:

There is one small spot on the passenger side where the paint was scraped a little and some (not so great) touch up was done. Needs to be painted by a pro to be perfect.

The odometer just stopped working at 163,000 miles. I have not had it looked at by anyone yet to see why. It was working great.

This truly is a wonderful truck that if you drive you will fall in love with. I am only selling to get the money to buy my friends 1992 Toyota pickup. I want it because it is 4x4, 4 clyinder 5 speed and it is in as good condition as my GMC, and that is more of what I am needing right now. But my GMC is an awesome truck!

2019 GMC Sierra 1500 prototype shows off differences from Silverado

Fri, Feb 2 2018

Now that the new Silverado has made its debut, we're awaiting the reveal of its mildly restyled twin, the GMC Sierra 1500. While it likely won't be that different as far as capability and major equipment are concerned, we are looking forward to seeing what design changes it will have. Based on these recent spy shots, the changes will be mild, but still enough to make it visually distinctive. One of the more obvious differences will be in the front fascia treatment. Unlike the Silverado's grille that's level with the top of the headlights, the GMC's will rise above the lights, which will also yield a slight drop on each side of the hood to meet the lights. The grille is quite tall, extending far below the headlights, too. We can make out, behind some mesh, two dips on the outer edges of the grille that give the Sierra a more menacing frown. Large foglights are also found right near where the scoops for the wheel air curtains, and the headlights are unified on the edges, rather than split on the Silverado. Along the sides, the sheet metal looks relatively unchanged. At some angles, we can make out the distinctive shoulder line from the Silverado that runs up to about the rear mirrors where it stops to make room for another crease that rises up from somewhere in the middle of the front doors to lead to the front. The wheel arches are decidedly different from the Silverado's though. While the Silverado has fairly rounded arches, the Sierra's have a rear-slanted bevel to the fronts of the arches and a rounded 90-degree corner at the rears. There isn't much we can tell about the rear except for the taillights. They're quite large, and unlike the Silverado's, there aren't any areas where the sheet metal intrudes. It also appears that the tops of the taillights extend farther forward into the bed sides than the Chevy's. Because the Sierra has almost always been a mechanical twin of the Silverado, we expect it to offer the same 5.3-liter and 6.2-liter V8s, as well as the new 3.0-liter diesel inline-6. Also, being a GMC, it will likely have a flashy, chrome-laden Denali trim level. We also will see the fully revealed model soon, as Automotive News reports the debut will be on March 1. GM now finishing and shipping pickups it had parked for lack of chips

Fri, Oct 22 2021

DETROIT — General Motors is more than halfway through shipping newly-assembled pickups that it had parked due to a shortage of semiconductor chips, a top executive at the No. 1 U.S. automaker said on Friday. "We've made great progress," Steve Carlisle, GM's North American chief executive said at the Reuters Events Automotive Summit. "We're a bit better than halfway through that at the moment and our goal would be to clear out our '21 model years by the end of the year. We'll have a bit of a tail of '22 model years into the new year but not for too long." The global chip shortage has forced automakers like GM to idle production or in some cases mostly build vehicles and then park them until the necessary chips can be installed, allowing those vehicles to be then shipped to dealers. Last month, GM Chief Financial Officer Paul Jacobson cautioned that GM's third-quarter wholesale deliveries could be down by 200,000 vehicles because of chip shortages. He did not break out what share of that was trucks. To expedite transportation of newly-built vehicles to dealers, Carlisle said GM bought a number of car haulers to deliver them from factories or distribution centers. The Detroit automaker has also allowed dealers to pick the vehicles up themselves in some locations. Carlisle said new vehicle inventories have shrunk to below 20 days in the United States due to the supply chain disruptions, but the company wants to get that back up to 30 to 45 days with some getting to 60 days depending on the product line. GM sees sales of gasoline-powered vehicles being steady over the decade and real growth opportunity in electric vehicles and software, with one not undermining the other, he said. Â
