You are bidding to purchase a 1999 GMC Jimmy SLS 4x4 sport utility vehicle that has been driven on average less than 6,500 miles per year, far less than 15,000 the industry average. These miles are confirmed thru Car Fax,Auto Check, (with a very impressive score),the prior owner and without question the very nice condition of the vehicle. These are the kind of miles you would normally find on very pricey 2007 and 2008 models but rarely on a 1999.

                                  ******************************

In these difficult economic times and with the future price of fuel anybodys guesse we feel the fairest way to sell this vehicle is to let you the buyer set the price, yes you, after all isn't that the best way to buy,you price it?

                                 *******************************

The GMC Jimmy is one of the most popular compact suvs on the road today for may reasons including dependability, one of the highest safety ratings in their class, generous fuel mileage (18/24), go anywhere 4x4 traction while maintaining the lowest cost of ownership bar none,in other words just plain good value for the dollar, hands down.

                                 ******************************

We find this handsome little guy clean from front to rear with minimal cosmetic imperfections (EG: dings, dimples, scuffs ect.) We see no corrosion on the doors, fenders, panels or under carriage. The original ''light autumwood metallic'' finish still has that ''new'' car luster. All lenses, trim and moldings are clean and straight. There are a very fresh looking matching set of Goodyear Wrangler all terrain radials riding on the original factory alloys that show no curb or road rash. The factory spare and all jacking hardware are present and stowed properly. The windshield is clear and clean showing no stone bruises, cracks or wiper mar.It is very obvious that this vehicle has spent much of it's time garaged.

                                *******************************

The interior is as neat and tidy as you would ever expect to find on a vehicle of this vintage,The dash shows no sun fade or degradation, the original headliner is clean and tight with no sagging of the material. The upholstery, trim panels and carpeting are as crisp and clean as the day this little guy rolled off the showroom floor. There is no doudt that this vehicle has never been smoked in,eaten in,or used to carry pets,so so refreshing. No question, very well looked after.

                                 ******************************

Mechanically there will be no surprises here. The well proven 4.3 L v6 engine fires to life with the click of the key coming to idle at specs. We see no oil leaks or smoke around the block or from the exhaust. On the drive the acceleration is strong the front end is tight and pleasing and the brakes stop the vehicle confidently with no pull or shudder. The automatic transmission shifts on point thru the gears. The 4x4 transfer case engages with the push of a button with no unusual sounds. The air conditioner works quietly while producing excellent cooling. We see no issues with the power windows, power door locks, cruise control, power seat, power side mirrors, heat, defrost, original sound system or safety features. It is evident that this vehicle has been on a strict regiment of preventive maintenance and if continued by the next fortunate owners they can expect many years and many miles of trouble free service.

                                       *********************************

Whether you need a economical daily commuter or a great starter vehicle for that ''new'' driver in the family that wont break the bank this little guy should fit the bill.PLEASE REMEMBER VEHICLES OF THIS VINTAGE IN THIS CONDITION WITH THESE KIND OF MILES ARE FEW AND FAR BETWEEN and are very rarely found on a no reserve auction but are normally passed down by a senior family member.Don't forget last bidder takes it so bid confidently you have found that ''needle in the haystack''.Don't forget 4x4's increase in value up to 30% as the season gets closer,so save now!!!!!!!!!!!!

                                      **********************************

Roadkill pits every project car against each other

Sat, 22 Feb 2014

The guys behind Motor Trend's monthly Roadkill series have collected nine of their favorite project cars from their videos and pitted them against each other in a battle royale to determine a winner. It's 44 minutes long, but it's completely worth the investment of time.
The cars run the gamut from a 1973 Chevrolet Ramp Truck, a 1975 AMC Pacer and a legitimately impressive 1967 Chevy Camaro, and they are pitted against each other to see which is the fastest around an autocross course. The drivers include Roadkill's two hosts and Motor Trend's Johnny Lieberman and Carlos Lago. It's reminiscent of the best episodes of Top Gear and worth a watch.
So it's the weekend - the perfect time to relax. Grab your preferred beverage, get comfortable and enjoy 44 minutes of some seriously ratty but utterly cool project cars as they are throttled within an inch of their lives (or past it). Scroll down to check out the video.

2015 Chevy Silverado, GMC Sierra can tow up to 12,000 pounds

Thu, 19 Jun 2014

Think back to the launch of the 2014 Chevrolet Silverado. At the time, General Motors happily trumpeted that its fullsize pickup could tow up to 11,500 pounds when properly equipped - impressive stuff, no doubt. But now, revised tow rating practices have been put into place, called SAE J2807. And with these new methods of testing, GM can now officially rate both the Silverado and its GMC Sierra twin as being able to tow up to 12,000 pounds.
Of course, not all Silverado and Sierra models are capable of this feat. In fact, because of SAE J2807, most of the truck models have actually had decreases in tow ratings from the 2014 to 2015 model year. For example, a 2014 Silverado Crew Cab with the 5.3-liter V8, 5.7-foot box and 3.73 rear axle was rated at 11,200 pounds in 2014, but has since been reduced to 10,800 in 2015. Same goes for the Sierra.
But for 2015, both the Silverado and Sierra can be had with a more powerful 6.2-liter V8, as well as a Max Trailering Package that includes a 9.76-inch rear axle, heavy-duty rear springs, revised shock tuning, improved cooling and a new trailer brake controller. There are also four- and seven-pin, bumper-mounted connectors, a trailer hitch (duh), and a G80 locking rear differential. This configuration, with either model, is the only way you can actually tow 12,000 pounds.

GM profits threatened by glut of pickups

Wed, 05 Dec 2012

Automotive News reports that General Motors may slash production or ramp up discounts in order to deal with an oversupply of pickup trucks. GM currently has more than double the standard supply of pickups, and the vehicles are threatening to dampen the automaker's profits for 2013. Typically, automakers try to sustain a 60- to 75-day supply of vehicles, but GM is currently loaded with a 139-day supply, as of last month. At the end of November, the automaker was sitting on 245,853 units.
The manufacturer says that it will adjust production accordingly before laying any incentives on the profitable pickups. Even so, there's some concern that the inventory swell could hurt the roll-out of the next-generation Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra. GM actually began slowly stepping back production in August, but it's clear the company will take further action as it heads toward the end of the year and into the next. Analysts predict the automaker could reduce pickup manufacturing by nearly half in the first quarter of 2013.
That still may not be enough to keep GM from laying extra cash on the Silverado and GMC Sierra. While the company's incentive spending was down in November compared to the same month in 2011, both the Ram 1500 and Ford F-150 saw double-digit percentage increases in sales last month while the Silverado and Sierra numbers slid compared to a year prior. Incentive spending could help move more trucks and add some balance to the GM inventory surge.
