Up for auction is our 2002 Ford Windstar SE. Tan with tan cloth interior, minivan is in great shape! Interior has no tears or rips and everything looks good. All seats fold over and the rear seats are removable.

The minivan currently has 172, 440 miles and is and garaged. We used it mainly for long family trips, so most of the miles are "highway". Recent tires installed and lots of tread. A/C is ICE COLD in front and back. The floor mats clean, and "unripped".

NOTE: The CHECK ENGINE light just came on. I believe it is one of the O2 sensors, but am not 100% sure. Please note this. Also, there is a small amount of rust developing on the driver side sliding rear door:  however, it does not impair the performance of the door in any way.

Options include: POWER SLIDING [remote} doors (they work great!), 6CD audio system, VCR entertainment system, with pull down LCD tv screen. You can use the rear audio connections to plug a DVD player or any type of game system.  REAR A/C control, all power lock and window, and cruise. The van is in great shape, Transmission and engine run perfectly, and van starts first shot. ABS and all options work great.

Ford won't be releasing GT500 lap times for the 'Ring, or any other car

Wed, 27 Nov 2013

Trucks have towing capacity, EVs have driving range and performance cars have Nürburgring lap times. What do all three have in common? They should all be taken with a grain of salt. Currently, there is no sanctioned way to record lap times or verify production-spec cars - a lesson we recently learned with the 2015 Nissan GT-R Nismo - and until there is a way to do so (and there probably never will be), we'll never officially know the actual time it took for Ford to lap the 'Ring with its ultra-powerful Shelby GT500.
After posting a Ford-made video of a 2013 GT500 running around the 'Ring, the guys over at SVTPerformance.com (an enthusiasts forum not affiliated with Ford or SVT) wanted more answers. They got in touch with Ford's Global Performance Vehicle Chief Engineer Jamal Hameedi, who said until there is a way to verify the times and inspect the cars, Ford will not get involved with lap-time wars. In the email, Hameedi pointed out that the 'Ring is a useful tool in that it allows a wide spectrum of track conditions, but until there is a governed way to record times, there is no way to accurately compare cars head-to-head.
And as much as some may not like it, Hameedi speaks the truth. It really isn't possible to compare times from one car to another, unless those cars were lapping the same track at the same time with the same driver. Not that any of this means there won't be continuous wars by fans and manufacturers alike... in other words, feel free to voice your opinions in the Comments below.

2015 Ford F-150 brings big aluminum to the Rust Belt [w/video]

Mon, 13 Jan 2014

Just when you thought you'd figured the fullsize truck market out, Ford goes and throws us a massive curve ball with the 2015 F-150. The big headline news aren't tow or payload ratings, though we're sure those figures will be fully competitive if not class leading, they haven't yet been announced. Instead, the big headline news Ford is highlighting are the truck's new aluminum-intensive structure and 2.7-liter EcoBoost V6 engine.
And with good reason - all that aluminum means that Ford was able to cut a massive 700 pounds from the truck's curb weight. That is going to cause all sorts of great things to happen to the 2015 F-150's driving dynamics, performance and fuel efficiency, not to mention its ability to haul heavy loads. For those customers worried about the strength of aluminum versus the more conventional steel, Ford is quick to point out that many military vehicles, such as the HMMWV and Bradley Fighting Vehicle, use a very similar sort of aluminum alloy in their construction.
It's also worth mentioning that the backbone, a fully boxed ladder frame, is hewn from high-strength steel. Ford says "2015 Ford F-150 is the strongest and most durable F-150 ever," for what it's worth, claiming that "torture tested" in labs and in the real world for more than 10 million miles. What's more, the truck, in disguised form, completed all 883 miles of the Baja 1000.
