THIS CAR IS ABSOLUTLY AWSOME.... VERY RARE..THERE WAS JUST OVER 3939 CONVERTIBLES MADE IN 1970. THIS ONE HAS THE ORIGINAL WHITE COMFORT WEAVE INTERIOR AND IS AN AUTOMATIC ON THE FLOOR WITH CONSOLE. THE CONSOLE WAS JUST RECENTLY RESTORE TO A NEW COND. THE MOTOR IS A 351 CLEVLAND 4V AND HAS PLENTY OF GET UP AND GO TO SMOKE EM. I JUST PUT ON BRAND NEW FRONT AND REAR BUMPERS AND A BRAND NEW WHITE CONVERT. TOP BOOT.. THE TOP IS WHITE AND IS IN GREAT SHAPE EXCEPT FOR A VERY SMALL TEAR ABOUT AN INCH LONG BUT DOES NOT LEAK AT ALL..( IT DOESNT GO ALL THE WAY THRU).THIS WAS IS A TRUE AR. IM NOT GOING TO LIE AND SAY ITS PERFECT BECOUSE ITS NOT, IT HAS THE TYPICAL NICKS AND SCRATCHES IN IT FOR BEING A DRIVER.. I USED TO DRIVE IT TO WORK ALOT AND I LIVE 70 MILES EACH WAY FROM MY WORK SO IT DOES HAVE SOME FLAWS BUT DRIVES PERFECT.
MY PLAN WAS TO BRING IT TO MY BUDDY WHO OWNS A LOCAL BODY SHOP AND HAVE HIM TAKE IT DOWN TO THE BARE METAL AND REPAINT IT BLACK WITH THE FLAT BLACK HOOD AND I RECENTLY PURCHASED A REAR DECK SPOILER ( FORD PART) THAT I WAS GOING TO HAVE HIM PUT ON BUT DUE TO RELOCTING I DECIDED TO SELL IT.THE SPOILER WILL BE SOLD WITH THE CAR..AS WELL AS A BUNCH OF BRAND NEW PARTS I PURCHASED WHEN I WAS GOING TO DO THE REPAINT..THE PARTS ARE AS FOLLOWS: ALL BRAND NEW.. Ford tells Congress it collects and protects some driver data
Fri, 14 Feb 2014Last month Ford's Jim Farley made waves at the CES when it was reported he told show attendees, "We have GPS in your car, so we know what you're doing. By the way, we don't supply that data to anyone." Farley and Ford later partially retracted and clarified that statement.
Spurred by a desire for further transparency on data collection policies, Ford representatives answered questions from Congress, specifically Senator Al Franken (D-Minn.), about driver privacy.
The Detroit News reports that Ford told Congress it does collect some vehicle location data in an effort to "troubleshoot and improve our products" on behalf of the driver. Ford went on to say that it only collects limited data after receiving permission from owners.
BMW to follow Honda back into F1?
Mon, 14 Apr 2014The economic downturn wrought devastating effects on motor racing. Formula One alone lost half its engine suppliers when Honda left at the end of the 2008 season, and both BMW and Toyota followed at the end of 2009. But things are looking up again. Cosworth may have dropped out this season, reducing the engine suppliers to three: Ferrari, Renault and Mercedes, the latter of which admits that it may have left had the engine formula not changed. But Mercedes has stayed and is dominating the championship. Honda is coming back next season. And word around the paddock is it may not be the only one.
According to Giancarlo Minardi - founder of the team now known as Scuderia Toro Rosso - BMW engineers have been conspicuously spotted lately at F1 test sessions and grands prix, lending to speculation that the new engine regulations may entice the Bavarian automaker back into the series. According to Minardi, BMW's marketing division is pushing for the automaker's return to F1, with the board slated to make a decision in May. BMW would be more likely to consider an engine-supply deal rather than taking a team over like it had with Sauber, but with which team or teams it might collaborate remains a big question mark at this point.
As if that's not enough, Ford is said to be considering taking over Cosworth's aborted V6 turbo engine program to take both outfits back into the sport as well. Cosworth supplied F1 engines under the Ford banner for years, but returned under its own name for four seasons from 2010 through 2013 before shuttering its program to develop an engine to meet the new regulations adopted this season.
Ford Fiesta 1.0L EcoBoost sales robust in early going
Tue, 13 May 2014Okay, okay, okay, so I was just a smidge wrong. Those that read my review of the Ford Fiesta with the new 1.0-liter, EcoBoost engine will know that while I really enjoyed the torquey little three-cylinder, I was concerned that Ford's decision to force 1.0-liter owners into a manual transmission, steel wheels and one trim level might hurt sales of the new engine. I was also concerned that the promised 45-mile-per-gallon highway rating wouldn't be enough to tempt buyers into trying an engine that's so far outside of what the general public is use to. My concerns, though, seem to have been for naught.
While not doing a booming business on the triple-equipped Fiesta, Ford is seeing a take rate of four to eight percent per month in the engine's first few months on sale. Now, four to eight percent might not sound like a lot - if, like last year, the Fiesta sells around 71,000 units, there'd be barely 5,600 1.0-liter models on the road. It is also small potatoes relative to the take rate on EcoBoost-equipped vehicles across the Ford range, which US sales analyst Erich Merkle estimates to be roughly 35 to 40 percent of retail sales. Still, according to The Detroit News, the 1.0-liter is getting adopted at roughly the same rate as the sparkling Fiesta ST, which should be a solid indication of just how well this little engine is doing.
The 1.0-liter's success "really speaks volumes, not just to what we're doing with the Fiesta, but with EcoBoost in general," Merkle told Autoblog.
