Since I purchased this car in 2003 from a dealer in Denver, Colorado, it has always been stored inside and only driven in the summer months to cruise-ins for a total of  3,375 miles.  With minor body work and new paint it would make a nice show car.  I will do my best to show and describe where body work is needed  (see photos).  Both rear wheel wells are showing rust where the stainless trim is mounted.  The passenger door has bondo cracking where it had been repaired before I got it.

The following is a list of new items and/or modifications which I have made in the past 10 years:
New tail pipes and chrome tips
New inside rear-view miror
Installed gauges in dash
Installed tachometor in dash
New dome lamp body
New wheel opening moldings
New power steering valve, left and right outer tie rod ends, idler arm, front end alignment and new tires
New door arm rest, both right and leftNew carpeting
New color matched floor mats with Torino logo
Installed Edlebrock 4-barrell manifold and new Holley 600cfm carburator.
New tail light lenses
New hood lip molding
New kick panels
New parking light lenses
New starter
New windshield wiper pump
New power steering hoses
Removed automatic transmission and installed Ford toploader 4-speed transmission
New flywheel, clutch, pressure plate, throw-out bearing, Torino pedals, rods, z-brackets and clutch arm.
Installed Hurst shifter and new drive shaft.

Mercury rises around sexy Cougar pack

Sat, May 30 2015

With a slightly larger body and a more luxurious interior, the Mercury Cougar doesn't carry quite as much cachet among pony car enthusiasts as the venerable Ford Mustang. But don't try to make that argument around Cougar super-fan Mike Brown. Since starting his Cougar collecting in 1988, Brown has become an absolute expert on the model, and he claims to have owned 400 of the Mercury pony cars in that time. Ten of them are in his collection today, not to mention a heap of spare parts in the garage. Check out some of the rarer members of Brown's fleet and allow him to tell you about them in this interesting interview from Electric Federal.

These cars are headed to the Great Crusher In The Sky

Fri, 24 Aug 2012

It happens every year. We bid adieu to some cars and trucks that will be missed, and say good riddance to others wondering how they stayed around so long. Whether they're being killed off for slow sales or due to a new product coming along to replace them, the list of vehicles being discontinued after 2012 is surprisingly long and diverse.
CNN Money has compiled a list of departing vehicles, to which we've added a few more of our own. In the slow sales column, cars like the Lexus HS 250h, Mercedes-Benz R-Class and the full Maybach lineup appear, while the Ford Escape Hybrid, Mazda CX-7 and Hyundai Veracruz are all having their gaps filled with more modern and more fuel-efficient alternatives. Obvious exceptions to the rule include models that still sell in decent numbers like the Jeep Liberty and the Chrysler Town & Country (which will eventually be replaced by a crossover-like vehicle).
Check out our gallery of discontinued cars above, then scroll down for more information.

The 11 most expensive American cars ever

Tue, 12 Aug 2014

Here's a Pro Tip for all you would-be classic car investors out there: buy Ferraris. With the Pebble Beach festivities kicking off this week, including any number high end car auctions, we thought it would be entertaining to compile a list of some to the most expensive cars ever sold with the bang of a gavel. Trouble is, once you get past the splendor of everyone's favorite Italian sports car maker, that list is pretty boring.
Ferrari dominates the all-time auction sales list; seven of the top ten most expensive cars sold wear the Cavallino Rampante badge, as well as more than half of the top fifty. Sure, a nearly $30-million Mercedes-Benz W196 racecar might be the new top dog as of last year, but it's even possible that Ferrari could take that title back in Monterey this weekend. Long story short: we think a list of the most expensive American cars ever sold at auction is a lot more entertaining to read. Hell, our list has a friggin' Batmobile on it, how can it go wrong?
Follow on below for the top ten cars that are red, white, blue and a whole lot of green.
