I purchased this 1987 Ford Thunderbird in about 1990. I used it for several years and gave it to my elderly mother. She maintained the car in near perfect condition until her death several weeks ago. She scraped the garage door with the passenger side door and someone backed into her, causing a small dent in the driver side rear fender. Both are pictured in the attached photo's. The car has been garaged since 1990 and probably since new. The car is currently stored at my Sister's home in El Dorado, Ks just a few miles NE of Wichita, just off the Kansas Turnpike. The Air conditioner compressor is not working. However, replacements are available on the Internet. The interior is in perfect condition as is the paint. The tires are a few years old but look new. It was being driven locally until a couple of months ago and I can assure you it runs like it did when new. My brother-in-law tells me the battery is down but he will assist the purchaser if required. The title is still in my mother's name but my sister has power of attorney to transfer the clear title. Ford Focus ST checks into Jay Leno's Garage
Mon, 23 Sep 2013In a change of pace from the high-end vehicles that often appear in Jay Leno's Garage, Ford sends its hottest hatchback (in the US, at least), the 252-horsepower Focus ST, to be featured on Leno's show. Accompanying the five-door hatch is its chief engineer, Jamal Hameedi.
Riding on stylish 18-inch wheels with summer tires and with a spoiler that doubles as a lunch tray, Hameedi and Leno walk us through the finer points of what makes the ST special, which also includes bigger brakes, torque vectoring, a manual transmission and, of course, 252 hp and 270 pound-feet of torque from the 2.0-liter EcoBoost four-cylinder engine, which is made possible by 21 psi of turbocharged boost.

Ford readying Ranger-based Everest SUV?
Fri, 21 Feb 2014Way back in August, we showed you a Ford concept for the Australian market called the Everest. Now, we can show you that work on the new Ranger-based SUV is well under way.
At this stage, it's still quite clearly a mule (note the misalignment of the front and rear doors), wearing the Ranger's front end and the rump of Ford's overseas Territory crossover. The wheelbase is shorter than a Ranger, according to our spy photographers, which strikes us as somewhat odd for a more passenger-oriented vehicle. Disc brakes should be fitted at all four corners, while the new SUV, which will almost certainly wear the Everest name, should sport a new rear suspension.
In terms of looks, we're expecting the Everest Concept to inform the appearance of the production model. Naturally, there will also be some interior tweaks, particularly around the dashboard, which is covered in these photos.
Ford EcoBoost smashes records at Daytona
Thu, 10 Oct 2013Some mighty machines have lapped the banks of the Daytona International Speedway over the years: thunderous V8-powered stock cars, Le Mans-conquering Group C prototypes, open-wheel Champ Cars, knee-dragging superbikes... heck, the infield lake has even hosted powerboat racing. But this - this is the fastest car ever to lap the legendary raceway.
What you're looking at is the new Daytona Prototype being prepared by Riley Technologies for the new United SportsCar Championship. The car, released just last week, is powered by a new 3.5-liter turbocharged V6 from Ford's EcoBoost family, and just obliterated the top speed at the track with a blistering 222.971 miles per hour through the traps.
That's enough to annihilate the previous record that was set, also under Ford power, by Bill Elliott while placing his Thunderbird on pole for the 1987 Daytona 500 that he would go on to win. His 210.364 mph record had stood for 26 years until now.
