NO TITLE ON CARS THIS OLD IN RHODE ISLAND. EBAY WOULDNT ALLOW ME TO LIST IT UNLESS I PUT IN A TYPE OF TITLE....AGAIN NO TITLE, NOT A CLEAR TITLE...BILL OF SALE ONLY OR PREVIOUS REGISTRATION CARD AFTER I TAX AND REGISTER IT. I HAVE OVER 50 PICS OF THE CAR IF YOU NEED ANYMORE. EBAY ONLY ALLOWS UP TO 24 PICTURES. CAR IS BEING STORED INDOORS....ONLY OUTSIDE FOR PICTURES.   THE CAR DOES OVER $600 IN SCRAP AT THE JUNKYARD, AND ABOUT $3-$4 THOUSAND IN PARTS....USE YOUR BRAIN....AUCTION WILL BE ENDED 10 MINUTES BEFORE IT IS SUPPOSE TO END IF IT DOESNT REACH A REASONABLE AMOUNT. HATE TO SOUND ARROGANT BUT EBAY IS LOADED WITH IDIOTS AND UNREALISTIC PEOPLE  AS WE ALL KNOW

This is a 1968 Thunderbird that we bought from an old friend that bought it in Tennessee when he was living there. He said he had just over $6000 invested in it, but he lost his storage for it and we bought it as a junk car for parts...therefore i didnt ask for any paperwork or even a bill of sales. He was under the impression that it was being parted out, but i just cant bring myself to parting it out....its almost a complete car that needs a bit to make complete. If we have to...we will tax and title it so we have a previous registration card to sell it on as RI doesnt require or issue titles on cars this old. I have sold dozens of cars here on ebay and no one has ever had a problem yet getting a previous reg from me with a bill of sales, or i can sell it to you on our dealers bill of sale...either way you should be fine.

The car is believed to be numbers matching, and original mileage which is 65k. The underside is totally rust free and pretty damn clean. Nothing like what you would find here in Rhode Island. Trunk, floors, doors and fenders all appear to be solid as well. Looks like a few areas had repairs done at one time by him most likely but metal was used and welded in. He was trying to restore this and get it painted hence the car being mostly in primer. The car was originally a aqua green in color and its evidenced by the door jams, front chin under the bumper and a few other areas not primed.

The door tag reads as follows:

BODY- 65B

COLOR-J

TRIM-2AB

DATE-16D

DSO-13

AXLE-3

TRANS-U

The gas tank has a bad leak, so we only were able to start it by pouring gas into the carb and she fired right up, idled nice but stalled once the gas was used up. He told us the engine purred like a kitten and that seems to be an accurate statement, although we didnt road test it due to the tank leak. We will however allow test drives if need be, and will put enough gas in the tank to allow this. As you can see it does have a few items missing, but this is pretty much a complete car. The seats, both front and rear are as nice as you will find without having replaced them. Pics do not do them any justice what so ever. The rear package tray looks great as does the headliner. The dash looks nice but does have a 4" crack in it and also appears to have been dyed. Center console looks good but isnt perfect . This is a power seat, window, lock, antenna car as well as A/C,tilt wheel and rear defrost. The drivers window wouldnt go up so we took it all apart to see if we could figure it out. We didnt nor did we spend much time investigating. I dont have any history on the car other than what i have listed in here, nor did i ask much either as my plans were to part it out. I do have a local offer on it, but i feel its worth more here on ebay. If it fetches more here, great....if not it will be sold here locally which means i will end the auction if the bid doesnt reach my local offer.. As i said...its missing a few things...a few pieces of exterior trim, some interior trim, a switch or 2 but nothing critical, nor do i believe are they items that cant be bough here on ebay. The seats, carpets and headliner/package tray are in exceptional condition for their age. With the exception of the crack in the dash...the rest of it looks great...gauges,wheel,etc....Any questions feel free to call my partner Barry, as he will be around the car daily so he should be able to answer any important questions. The car has a ford 9" rear, as well as the original 429 Thunder Jet motor which i believe was a 380HP motor. Call Barry at 401-743-7446 or email me with any questions...Thank you and good luck. Car does have a key, and it will start no problem.

Ford sells 7-millionth Explorer in America

Mon, 17 Nov 2014

Say what you will about the evolution of the Ford Explorer, from roofed Ranger to body-on-frame sport utility vehicle to unibody crossover - the bottom line is that it's been a tremendously successful model for Ford. In fact, the Blue Oval automaker has sold seven million Explorer models in the United States alone.
The milestone, marked nearly a quarter-century after the introduction of the original in 1990, comes on the eve of the introduction of a new Explorer at the Los Angeles Auto Show this week. We don't yet know how the new Explorer will shape up, but we're mere days away from finding out.
Now heading into its sixth generation, the Explorer has formed the basis of Ford's utility lineup for over two decades. The Explorer landed on the market right around the time that the Bronco was trailing off, predating the company's expansion into larger SUVs like the Expedition and Excursion and crossovers like the Escape, Edge and Flex.

Exceptionally rare '65 Ford GT40 Roadster prototype up for auction

Sat, 14 Jun 2014

Think of mid-engined supercars and your mind is bound to gravitate towards Europe, but the United States has been known to make a handful from time to time - exceptional vehicles from the likes of Vector, SSC, Mosler, Hennessey, and Saleen. But long before any of those came around, Ford famously became obsessed with beating Ferrari at its own game, leading to the development of the iconic GT40.
The story is well known, sending Ford to the checkered flag at Le Mans four times in a row in the late 1960s. Ford and Shelby also built over 100 for public consumption, but just four of them were roadsters. Of those only one remains in original condition, and now that exceedingly rare example going up for auction.
Consigned to RM Auctions for its mid-August sale during Pebble Beach weekend in Monterey, California, this 1965 model is the first GT40 Roadster built. It was used as a development and demonstration vehicle for Ford and Shelby. Carroll Shelby himself drove Henry Ford II in this very car during one of many test and demo events, this time held for Ford's board of directors in Los Angeles.

2013-2017 Ford Explorer recalled over rear suspension issue, again

Wed, Nov 4 2020

Ford is recalling about 375,000 Explorer SUV models built between 2013 and 2017 in North America to fix a potential defect in the rear suspension. In "North America states and provinces where corrosion is common," which we take to mean areas that experience harsh winters and heavily salted roads, "a fracture of the outboard section of the rear suspension toe link" is possible on affected vehicles. Ford says 350,000 of these models were sold in the United States and another 25,200 in Canada. This isn't the first time Explorers of this generation have been recalled for fractured toe links. Back in the summer of 2017, 1.2 million Explorer models were recalled over toe links that could fracture if subjected to "frequent full rear suspension articulation (jounce and rebound)." A little over a year earlier, 75,000 Explorers were recalled over, you guessed it, rear toe links that may not have been welded properly. It's not just Explorers that Ford has recalled over rear toe links. Earlier this year, the automaker issued a recall that covered nearly 230,000 Ford Flex, Taurus and Lincoln MKT models. All of these recalled vehicles ride on similar unibody underpinnings that Ford calls the D4 platform. We can't say whether these other D4-based vehicles will get another recall as the Explorer has. Ford says it is aware of as many as 13 crashes and six injuries attributable to the toe links covered under this most recent Explorer recall. Owners will need to visit their preferred dealership, which will "complete a torque inspection of the cross-axis ball joint and replace it as necessary," according to Ford. Related Video:
