1966 Ford Thunderbird Base Hardtop 2-door 6.4l on 2040-cars
Pasadena, California, United States
|
Your are bidding on a 1966 Thunderbird Town Landau Car is in good condition. Has been off the road and garaged since 2005. The odometer shows 21,013 Don't know what the actual milage is. Needs TLC but is not far from being a true "all original" show car. Car runs and drives good but will need some work as I don't have anytime time to dedicate to this car any more. Automatic Transmission shifts fine. The interior is complete and daily driver condition. With some TLC the car can become a daily driver and worked on as you drive. There is rust spot's on the right and left front and rear quarter panel fenders. See pics. Also theres a rust hole in the truck over the rear right wheel. The top is in good shape and without any rips. Currently all windows are electric and work. New Brake Booster and Master Cylinder were replaced. I also added the missing Landau bars. Buyer is responsible for shipping costs, or car can be picked up locally after payment is made. Car is sold without warranty as is condition. Ask questions and I will answer as best I can. Car located in Pasadena, California. Happy bidding. |

NHTSA investigating Ford Fiesta for faulty door latches
Mon, 15 Sep 2014The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has opened a preliminary investigation on the 2011-2013 Ford Fiesta because the regulator has received 61 complaints from drivers, including one claim of an injury, about the doors on the subcompacts failing to latch and sometimes even flying open while driving. NHTSA has estimated that the problem could affect as many as 205,000 vehicles.
NHTSA is still gathering further data about the problem, but looking at the complaints so far, both front and rear doors appear to be potentially involved with the alleged failures. Among the reports, there are 12 claiming that the door opened while driving. Several also indicate the "Door Ajar" warning illuminating during this problem. The one purported injury happened when someone attempted to shut the door, and it bounced back.
Ford spokesperson Kelli Felker told Autoblog via email, "We are cooperating with NHTSA on this investigation, as we always do." Scroll down to read the report from NHTSA.

Car and Driver shows off awesome 1960s ads
Fri, Sep 11 2015Someone must have recently rediscovered the keys to the archives at Car and Driver, and the access has been put to good use. Following last month's fantastic look at automotive ads from the '50s, there's now a new gallery running from March 1960 through December 1969. This collection provides a great overview of a decade full of iconic cars. If you're a fan of Carroll Shelby, particularly his Mustangs, then there's a lot to love among this group. One ad from July 1965 aimed to sell the GT350, but with an ocean of text and a tiny picture, it probably could've used a once-over by Don Draper's team. By December '65, the copywriters ironed out the problems with a spot proclaiming boldly "Shelby GT350 is 'Son of Cobra.'" The company offered some great accessories, too. For those into European motoring, there's a humorous attempt to sell the Alfa Romeo Giulia as both a racecar and family hauler. Toyota also boasts about the winning record for the 2000GT. Among the best text comes from BMW for lines like: "What's BMW got? The most advanced high-performance engine in any production car, for a cruising speed of 100 mph." Of course, Volkswagen's famous "Lemon" ad for the Beetle also gets its due here. Separately, each of these ads is fascinating, but taken together they tell the story of a great decade of motoring. Go give them all a read at Car and Driver.
