Up for auction is my 1963 Ford Convertible with the optional roadster tonneau cover (included). I bought this 5 years ago and restored it to its present very good condition. It was redone to its original Corinthian white exterior and original red vinyl interior, ( 76A-M-55-19M-53). The tires on the car are 90% tread and 2 new tires are included. The car is registered, insured and is driven weekly. It has a new, professionally installed vinyl top. All glass is very good. New aluminum door and dash panels. Car does not have A/C but there is an A/C vent in dash. All gauges, except clock are working. New vinyl upholstery. Rear spats are included but need to be painted. The retractable top is working beautifully (some relays and hydraulic cylinders replaced). Front and rear bumpers are original and in good condition. The rear chrome light surrounds have been rechromed. All the electrics work. Windows and seats are manual. Downside...the transmission needs to be adjusted, as it sometimes snaps out of park into reverse. This is why I always park it in neutral and apply foot brake. Also,( as shown in photo) there is a small dent in left rear fender measuring 4 inches in diameter. As a plus, I was told, when I bought it, that the engine rings and bearings were done a few years previously. Car has great power and is a real "eye catcher" with its red and white color combo. Sorry to see it go but other projects are waiting. Buyer is responsible for shipping or local pick-up. Requires $1000.00 pay pal deposit within 48 hours of sale. Being sold as is/ where is. Did a US automaker blow the whistle on Hyundai, Kia fuel economy issue?
Mon, 17 Dec 2012In all of the most hotly contested mainstream segments of the motoring universe, the difference of one mile per gallon averaged on a widow sticker can mean the difference between a sale and a walk-off - to say nothing of two or three mpg. So, when Hyundai and Kia were forced to reveal that many of their 40-mpg ratings were actually 38s and 37s, well, it made for big news.
It also, conceivably, made for a competitive disadvantage immediately, when the Korean automakers' products were being shopped versus the guys down the block. And it's that disadvantage that makes a recent story from Automotive News so juicy.
AN is reporting that Margo Oge, former head of the Environmental Protection Agency's Office of Transportation and Air Quality, got a tip in 2010 that Hyundai/Kia were "cheating" to get its impressive fuel economy numbers. The tip, said Oge (who retired from the EPA this past September), came from a senior vice president from a domestic automaker. The source was credible enough for Oge to launch an audit of the Hyundai figures, which ultimately lead to the debacle that we reported on a few months ago, and that the Korean company has been trying to bounce back from ever since.

It appears that the chatter about Ford CEO Alan Mulally possibly leaving early to take over as CEO of Microsoft is losing air pretty fast. What's pretty interesting is that it got any traction in the first place.
Ford Everest Concept shows China also has an affinity for big trucks
Mon, 21 Apr 2014The Ford Everest Concept SUV at the 2014 Beijing Motor Show shows the future of the Blue Oval's truck line in China. While a concept for now, we're told that JMC, Ford's Chinese joint-venture partner, will build a production version sometime in the near future.
With design from Ford's Asia Pacific design team, the handsome seven-passenger SUV shows off some very muscular styling with wraparound headlights that hook into the contours of the angular trapezoidal grille. The beltline rises up the body in the rear and makes the back appear higher than the front. The rear is made from hard, chiseled contours that give the truck a very tough look. The Everest looks ready for some rough roads.
Ford is keeping the interior and mechanical details about the Everest a secret for now, but the SUV is rumored to share some components with the overseas Ranger pickup.
