ou are looking at a customized 1962 Ford Thunderbird that has been transformed into a sweet pro touring car. This car was built to be a driver, it gets a ton of attention at the cruises. The rear wheel-wells were radiused and the trim was removed from the rear quarters, making this Thunderbird look more sleek and smooth than how it rolled off the assembly in 1962.
Vehicle Specifications: • 1962 Ford Thunderbird • 10,500 miles • Hardtop • Coupe • Automatic 8 cylinder 460 • Red leather interior • Power windows • Clean title • Custom aftermarket rims Drivetrain modifications include: • 460 engine • MSD 6AL ignition • MSD distributor • Edelbrock carburetor • Edelbrock performance intake • New aluminum radiator with electric fan • C6 transmission • New Driveshaft and U-joints • 4 wheel disc breaks • New front wheel bearings and seals • Upgraded master cylinder and booster • New rag joints • New power steering pump • New battery • New starter • American Racing wheels, 17 x 7 front, 20 x 8.5 rear • Hankook Ventus V12 EVO Tires, 225-45-17 front, 245-40-20 rear • Rebuilt 3.50 Ford 9" rear • New rear wheel bearings and axle seals *All of this work has been done in the past six months; all these items are new, not new three years ago In a prior build someone built this into a hot rod and installed a fuel cell in the trunk. A brand new gas tank, filler neck, straps, and sending until will need to be installed by the new owner. Fuel gauge is not currently connected; it will work when connected to the new sending unit. There in no rust on the Thunderbird at all. The only imperfection on the body is a very small blister on the front passenger side of the hood. The chrome is in great shape. The vent windows have the usual pitting and there are some minor dings on some of the trim. The vehicle also includes a new set of window felts that will need to be installed by the new owner. The interior is in nice shape, the seats and headliner were redone, the door panels need attention (door arm rest specifically started to crack). Overall, this is a nice straight car with no excuses. I am not looking for any trades. On Aug-23-14 at 05:48:10 PDT, seller added the following information: This is a hardtop not convertible , my daughter posted for me and made mistake sorry |

Get a taste of Ford GT ownership from Dust Devils
Thu, Jan 1 2015It seems that the automotive world might be right on the cusp of getting some kind of follow-up to the Ford GT. It might not be called the GT or even use the coupe's retro look, but rumors point to such a beast being on the way. If the future halo model can inspire as much adoration among fans as the previous ones, then the Blue Oval is sure to have another winner on its hands. To get idea just how closely GT owners are bonded to their cars, take a ride with the participants in the ninth Ford GT National Rally in this short documentary titled Dust Devils. The owners convened with over 80 of the retro supercars in Las Vegas, NV, to admire the coupes and give them a workout on the desert roads. It's especially nice to see the drivers of these limited production Fords unafraid to take their cars to the track and stretch their legs a little. The long, low-slung look is simultaneously menacing and lithe, and the growl from the latest model's supercharged V8 is nothing to complain about either. Get just the slightest taste of what it's like to have one of these halo Fords in this clip, from the people that love them the most. Ford files trademark for 'EcoBeast' moniker
Mon, Dec 29 2014Ford has done some performance stuff with its EcoBoost line of vehicles, most notably with its Focus and Fiesta ST, the new, turbocharged Mustang and the luke-warm Taurus SHO and F-150 Tremor, but it's kind of avoided going wholly bonkers. That could be set to change quite soon, judging by a trademark filing with Uncle Sam. Ford has registered the name EcoBeast with the United States Patent and Trademark Office, listing it as "automobiles and automobile engines," according to the team at Motorlix, which discovered the filing. As always, it bears mentioning that companies are constantly filing trademarks, even if a good or service never emerges with said name. We agree with Motorlix, though – it seems highly unlikely Ford is going to just let this name languish. What vehicle or engine will wear this new badge is the real question. We're leaning towards something F-150 related, based on our last round of spy photos of the new SVT Raptor, although it's impossible to say for certain what the Blue Oval has planned. Here's hoping we find out in just a few weeks when Ford brings basically all of its performance merchandise to the 2015 Detroit Auto Show. Until then, let us know what you think Ford is planning with the EcoBeast.
