1957 T Bird Convertible w/ Hard Top
Nice looking car, nice body (front right fender looks light there was some work done. paint looks decent not original, only a few minor scuffs. No major rust seen anywhere top or under chassis (some minor surface rust under lower body & door edges), Chrome bumpers are straight, but have minor rust starting on top edge. Hard top shows cracks in paint, Soft top looks good except for a silicone patch on drivers side, (plastic window clear). Interior looks like original seats, decent carpet. Tachometer missing in dash. Dash looks very good, all of the inside chrome is showing minor rusting, can possibly be buffed or cleaned with steel wool. Engine was completely rebuilt at a Certified mechanic shop on 11-09-2007 with 14,182 miles on odometer, ($11,750. I have the original receipt). Complete tune up was done at that time including new Water pump, overhauling Brake Booster, removing Radiator for repairs, eliminating the points & condensor with Electronic Ignition, & replacing Steering box with rebuilt unit. Fuel Tank was removed & sent out for cleaning, Wheel bearing & brakes were service on 8-21-2007 ($2,496. I have receipt). Engine runs good, but I do hear a small exhaust leak from manifold area (possible exhaust doughnut flange). Engine runs smooth, Holly carburetor has small fuel leak at back bowl (I'm sending out for repair). New original style battery being installed. 2 speed Auto Trans shifts good, was rebuilt in 1988 with 18,143 stated miles. Has good Bias Ply tires, mechanic shop recommended replacing with Radial tires, Brakes & Steering feel good. I have a clear title and Owners manual handbook, same previous owner since 1986, current registration expires June 2014. This car has not been restored. Service records are available for described work done. I can accept a offer and cancel sale if we agree on price and deposit is made via PayPal. Marchionne open to combination with Ford or GM
Fri, Mar 13 2015At the depths of the auto industry implosion, there was widely reported talk that General Motors and Chrysler would be merged into a mighty import-beating behemoth. While such notions clearly never materialized, that doesn't mean the idea is dead. In fact, FCA boss Sergio Marchionne still welcomes the idea of a partnership with either GM or Ford. He responded positively to the idea, calling it "technically feasible," when asked about it at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show, Automotive News reports. "There's bantering that goes on all the time," Marchionne told AN, before quashing suspicions that a plan was in the works by adding that "nothing substantive" was going on. Our favorite black sweater enthusiast isn't quite as interested in the idea of teaming with a foreign manufacturer like PSA Peugeot Citroen, or in the rumored tie-up with Volkswagen, though. That is a shame, particularly in regards to Marchionne's shut down of a partnership with the French, although it isn't necessarily surprising – FCA already consists of eight automakers, and as Sergio told AN, there's really nothing at PSA that could help the company out. What are your thoughts? Is there an obvious project or segment that would benefit from an FCA partnership with Ford or GM? Have your say in Comments. Ford builds one-off 50th anniversary Mustang Convertible for charity
Thu, 08 May 2014At the New York Auto Show this year, Ford revealed a special-edition Mustang to honor the iconic pony car's 50th anniversary. Only 1,964 highly symbolic examples will be made, all of them fixed-roof coupes. But the Blue Oval automaker has just announced that it's also building a single 50 Years edition convertible that it will raffled off for charity.
The first production example of the new Mustang Convertible to roll off the line this fall, this one-off will pack many of the features on the 50 Years coupe, including its white paintjob, chrome trim, aluminum dashboard, two-tone upholstery, contrast stitching, special 19-inch wheels and special-edition badging throughout.
This unique cabrio will also be fitted with a special performance pack including Pirelli PZero rubber, Brembo brakes and a limited-slip differential to help get the 420 horsepower and 390 pound-feet of torque from the 5.0-liter V8 through the six-speed manual transmission and down to the road. It'll also feature a serial plaque with the number 0001 of 0001 and chairman Bill Ford's signature.
