IT HAS BOTH A HARDTOP AND SOFT TOP, IT HAS POWER STEERING, POWER SEATS AND POWER WINDOWS. IT COMES WITH RECORDS GOING BACK TO 1985 WHEN IT HAD 93,950 MILES, IT NOW SHOWS 97,077 MILES. THE CAR HAS HAD EXTENSIVE WORK OVER THE YEARS WITH VERY FEW MILES PUT ON THE CAR SINCE COMPLETION. I RECENTLY NOTICED THAT THE POWER STEERING RACK SEALS ARE LEAKING A LITLLE BUT NOT BAD. THERE ARE SOME CHIPS ON THE DRIVERS DOOR EDGE BETWEEN THE FENDER AND DOOR THAT HAVE BEEN TOUCHED UP. THE DOOR HAS BEEN ALIGNED AT SOMETIME AND DOES NOT RUB THE FENDER NOW. HAS SOME RUST ON THE FRONT FLOOR BRACE ON EACH SIDE, I HAVE BOUGHT TWO NEW FLOOR BRACES AND AM HAVING A BODY SHOP REPLACE THEM THIS WEEK. THE FLOOR PANS AND THE OTHER FOUR FLOOR BRACES HAVE NO RUST. IT ALSO COMES WITH A CAR COVER. I HAVE A NEW ACCELERATOR PEDAL THAT NEEDS TO BE INSTALLED AND A NEW BATTERY HOLD DOWN. Ford unveils next-gen S-Max in Europe

Let's get this unfortunate though important tidbit out of the way right off the bat: The Ford S-Max isn't sold in the United States, and it's not coming here, at least not anytime soon. And so it's with our European friends in mind that we share this information about the next-gen S-Max (previewed about a year ago in concept form) that is set to debut all across Europe next year and will be shown off at the upcoming Paris Motor Show. Now, moving on...
As with the first-gen S-Max, the new model will boast seating for seven passengers, along with a decent amount of storage space, all packed into a relatively reasonably sized package. Powering the front wheels (or optionally all four) will be the buyer's choice of EcoBoost gasoline-turbocharged or turbo-diesel four-cylinder engines along with automatic and manual transmission options. Included in the mix is a new 1.5-liter EcoBoost with 160 horsepower, though the 240-horse 2.0 is likely to be seen as the headliner.
There are all kinds of new technologies on offer, ranging from Adaptive Steering to Dynamic LED Headlamps with Glare-Free Highbeams, and it's all housed inside new, more sleekly designed bodywork riding atop a chassis with new suspension architecture designed to make the S-Max a people-hauler that's still fun to drive. Car and Driver shows off awesome 1960s ads

Someone must have recently rediscovered the keys to the archives at Car and Driver, and the access has been put to good use. Following last month's fantastic look at automotive ads from the '50s, there's now a new gallery running from March 1960 through December 1969. This collection provides a great overview of a decade full of iconic cars. If you're a fan of Carroll Shelby, particularly his Mustangs, then there's a lot to love among this group. One ad from July 1965 aimed to sell the GT350, but with an ocean of text and a tiny picture, it probably could've used a once-over by Don Draper's team. By December '65, the copywriters ironed out the problems with a spot proclaiming boldly "Shelby GT350 is 'Son of Cobra.'" The company offered some great accessories, too. For those into European motoring, there's a humorous attempt to sell the Alfa Romeo Giulia as both a racecar and family hauler. Toyota also boasts about the winning record for the 2000GT. Among the best text comes from BMW for lines like: "What's BMW got? The most advanced high-performance engine in any production car, for a cruising speed of 100 mph." Of course, Volkswagen's famous "Lemon" ad for the Beetle also gets its due here. Separately, each of these ads is fascinating, but taken together they tell the story of a great decade of motoring. Ford confirms Everest SUV production for China

According to Ford, the Chinese SUV segment grew by 49 percent in 2013, and the Blue Oval held a 4.5 percent market share. At the 2014 Beijing Motor Show, Ford is showing the Everest SUV that, while just a concept for now, will go into production in the near future.
The Everest is a big, brawny seven-seat SUV that mixes solid, chiseled styling and contemporary Ford design cues. Up front there is an angular version of the trapezoidal grille and sharp, wraparound headlights. The beltline rises in the rear to make the back appear higher than the front. The rear seems just as chiseled, with the taillights resting in jagged scallops. There is no doubt that this concept means to look rugged, and ready for rough roads - the whole thing looks pretty great.
The truck was penned by Ford's Asia Pacific design and engineering team in Australia, and it was first shown in Sydney last year. Ford's JMC joint venture will build the truck for the Chinese market, and it will be sold at Ford dealers there. The Blue Oval isn't hinting at what powers the production version yet, but it reportedly shares some components with the foreign-market Ranger.
