Here is what MotorTrend magazine said after a two year review of this year model Taurus SHO:

“1993 Ford Taurus SHO

By B.J. Killeen | From the March 1995 issue of Motor Trend

Judging by the write-in comments on the survey (and there were plenty), what everyone liked best about the SHO was, obviously, performance. It was the primary purchase influence at 92.8 percent, followed in order by handling, looks/style, and safety features. The output from the Yamaha engine is more than half again as much as from the 3.8-liter six-cylinder in the regular Taurus: 220 horsepower at 6200 rpm and 215 pound-feet of torque at 4800. A 7.5-second 0-60 time and a 15.4-second/88.9-mph quarter-mile run backed up its performance claims-so much so that many owners rambled on about how much better they liked the SHO over more-expensive hardware like BMWs, Mercedeses, and other European sport sedans. "I had a BMW before this car," wrote one happy owner. "I never thought I'd ever like to drive something as much as that BMW. The SHO is every bit as nice. I like a fast car and a family car; the SHO is it!"

The Yamaha-built 3.2 liter DOHC V-6 produces 220 horsepower and 215 pound-feet of torque. Engineering wizardry-including dual intake runners, one for low engine speeds and one for high-helps deliver the SHO's quick 7.5-second 0-60 time and nice torque band

I moved to Texas in 2008 and decided to get my car dealer license because I love to buy and sell cars and motorcycles.  It has always been more of a hobby than a business (thank god, or I would starve)

I found this San Antonio and purchased it from an insurance company. It had damage to the right front Fender and grill. I replaced the front bumper, grill and right front fender.  When I bought this car I had every intention to keep it.  I remembered test driving the SHO Taurus back in the early 90”s and I was very impressed. If you read the reviews you will see that most of the owners have previously owned BMW and Mercedes and they like this car as much or better.  If you want to see a great review of this car you can watch this clip on YouTube   http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vNH1Gv4ew-w

There was never any frame damage or airbags deployed.  I have pictures of the car before the repairs were made as well.   I have driven the car since the repairs were made and even took it up to high speeds for a bit to make sure it had no issues. (at least that was my excuse)  This car is awesome to drive!

This car still has a salvage title but I will give you a “certificate of rebuild”.  If you take the title and certificate of rebuild to the DMV they will issue you a new title that will be a standard title.  Some states will put a note in the remark section that says “rebuilt” or “prior salvage” but the new title will allow you to get full coverage insurance and finance the vehicle if desired.

You will be very happy with this car.  It is solid, drives perfect and would rate in “excellent” shape.   I would drive this car across the country without any worries.

Issues:  The mirror glass is missing on the passenger side door and the headliner is a little worn where it meets the rear window at the top.  It still looks good but not perfect.

You will save a bundle of money on this car!  This car will sell to the high bidder regardless if that is $500 or $10,000.

I really hope to get what this car is worth but I will trust the auction to bring whatever the market will pay.  Whoever wins this bid will be very happy!

I will be glad to help with shipping and I know a hand full of guys that would gladly drive this to anywhere in the country to deliver it.   I will be happy to help you arrange to get the car to your home as long as it has been paid for before it leaves my driveway.  I would suggest that you fly into San Antonio or Austin and let me pick you up at the airport.  You would enjoy the drive home and give you a chance to get to know your new car.

The winning bidder will need to pay a $500 deposit within 24 hours and the balance within 5 days.  You can leave the car here as long as you wish once it is paid for.

This is a true NO RESERVE!  High Bidder Wins!

Hands on with Ford Sync 3

Sun, Jun 28 2015

It's kind of funny (not funny) how the infotainment systems in our vehicles seem to lag behind the consumer products in our pockets. Long after we had easy-to-use touchscreens on our phones, the glass panels in the center stack of our cars remained obstinately mired in the muck of technology past. We are happy to report it's getting better. We had a chance to go hands-on with the new Sync 3 system from Ford at a technology event. Not once were we struck by the urge to reach out and offer a bit of knuckled encouragement. The processors kept swiping smooth, and the voice recognition could understand even our mumbly mouthings. The voice prompts were certainly fewer and less frustrating than in times past. Ask for the nearest Indian restaurant, and it quickly brought up a list to choose from, ready to offer directions. Want to listen to NPR, just say the word. Sync 3 also improved its ability to get along with others, by which we mean it nicely integrates a range of apps from your phone and can incorporate their individual areas of expertise. With Pandora installed, we could ask for a particular playlist and it would begin streaming. If we wanted a certain artist, it would pull it from the phone's memory upon request. To get a sense of what how the new system functions, check out the video above for a quick look at the improved layout and a demonstration of its smoothness and smarts. To get a look at how it integrates with music streaming services, scroll down for a Pandora-centered Short Cut below.

Lincoln MKC will be renamed the Corsair in 2021, probably

Mon, Jun 18 2018

Lincoln will be renaming its MKC crossover, calling it the Corsair instead. Automotive News is reporting that the recently trademarked, yet storied Ford model name Corsair will be affixed on the 2021 model year crossover. The report says Ford has already told its U.S. dealers about the name at an Orlando meeting last month. Ford has a long history with the Corsair nameplate in the States and abroad: Most recently, it has been in use in Australia in the early 1990s, in the UK in the 1960s, and before that Ford offered an Edsel Corsair in the late 1950s. Even if an Edsel connection might not be the best possible thing for a Ford product, let alone a Lincoln, it might serve the crossover well as Ford moves to ditch the MK naming convention it's used for Lincoln for the past decade. Still, the manufacturer is said to have cautioned dealers it might opt out of using the Corsair name before production time. At the same meeting, Ford reportedly showed the next-generation Escape, the Explorer, a battery electric crossover dubbed the Mach 1, a yet-unnamed small SUV (which might be the Bronco) , and a new Lincoln Continental complete with suicide doors. The MKC will still receive a refresh for next year, retaining its letters-name for a couple of years before the bigger redesign for 2021. Currently, the MKC is the strongest-selling Lincoln product in China, and it brings in numerous new Lincoln customers there. In the U.S. it's outsold by the MKX crossover and is neck-and-neck with the MKZ sedan.

2016 Ford F-150 gets new Limited model

Tue, Jul 21 2015

The average price paid for a full-size pickup this year is $42,429. Ram is right at that mark, with an average price of $42,256, the Chevrolet Silverado is below it, at $38,384, and the Ford F-150 is above, at $46,573. That average transaction price is thirty percent higher than it was six years ago, and that F-150 price is eight percent higher than one year ago. We can thank that escalation for the arrival of the new F-150 Limited, a truck that Ford says responds to the "growing needs of discerning truck customers interested in exclusivity, capability and craftsmanship." Reuters went further, saying customers want "trucks that could substitute for a higher end German sedan." Billed as "the most advanced, luxurious F-150 ever," everything has been thrown at the standard features list. Buyers will get the luxury modifiers we expect from Europeans, like Mojave leather throughout, climate-controlled, massaging front seats, heated rear seats, and fiddleback eucalyptus wood. Driver assistance systems are legion, including a 360-degree camera system, adaptive cruise control, active park assist, a remote tailgate release, and SYNC3. Ford's new Pro Trailer Backup Assist will be an option. As if that won't be enough to tell it from the less luxurious models, the Limited sits on unique 22-inch wheels, the word "Limited" is written on the hood, the VIN is laser engraved in a plaque in the armrest, and the grille, tailgate, and door handles get a satin chrome finish among other changes. Only four exterior colors make the palette: Shadow Black, Magnetic, Blue Jeans and White Platinum Metallic tri-coat. The sole engine offered is the 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6 with 365 horsepower and 420 pound-feet of torque. We've been talking about luxury trucks for years now, and Ford's competition is in the game, too - Chevy has its Silverado High Country, Ram its Laramie Limited. This new F-150 Limited, however, raises all bets. It will go on sale this winter at an as-yet-unknown price, but since the current top-of-the-line Platinum starts at $51,585, we have a feeling that getting a Limited out the door under $60K will be near impossible. Admire the new seduction in the images above, the press release below has more.
