2006 Ford Taurus SEL, 3.0 V6, Automatic, Cold AC, power windows and locks, aluminum wheels, cruise, tilt, AM/FM/CD....everything works!
This car has been in my possession since it had about 20K miles on it. It was originally my company car, so the majority of miles are all highway (most travel was in the southeast). When the company closed a couple of years ago, I was extremely happy to purchase this Taurus due to the reliability... no major mechanical repairs, just routine maintenance, a lot of which was done at the Ford dealer. Oil and filter has been changed every 3,000 to 3,500 miles. Transmission fluid was flushed at about 100K. Maintenance items have been replaced as needed. The only mechanical repair that has been done was a new coil... replaced about 6 months ago.........
The exterior of the car is in very nice shape, it does have a small door ding in the R/R door (see pic), a scuff on the rear bumper cover (see pic) and a small dent on the roof (see pic) I am sure someone could find light scratches and another ding..........
Interior is also in nice condition, the drivers seat does have marks in it (see pic) and there is a small hole in the rear seat bottom (see pic)
PA State inspection just completed. 4 brand new Continental tires mounted and balanced.... should have a front end alignment done now.
Low starting price and NO RESERVE!
If you are looking for a well maintaned and reliable vehicle, this is it. I would not be afraid to drive it anywhere. If you would like to travel here and drive it home, the Cumberland, MD Amtrack station is only about 15 miles away. We do not have temp tags, so please contact your local DMV for more info...........
We make every effort to photograph important details of the vehicles body condition, however small dings, scratches and blemishes in the vehicles paint and body are often difficult to catch in the camera lens, please know that these imperfections may exist.
Vehicle has a clear PA title that must be notarized with the buyer information and purchase price. Please don’t ask me to put a price that is lower than the winning bid. Deposit must be made within 24 hours and full payment and vehicle pick up must be completed within 7 days of the auction closing or the vehicle will be re-listed. You are more than welcome and strongly encouraged to come and drive/inspect the vehicle in person. Please email me to make arrangements and with any questions you may have BEFORE bidding.
•IF THE REQUIRED DEPOSIT OF $250.00 IS NOT RECEIVED WITH IN 24 HOURS FROM THE TIME OF PURCHASE, THE VEHICLE WILL BE RE-LISTED.
•DEPOSITS RECEIVED ON A NON-PAYING BIDDER, WILL NOT BE RETURNED!!
•"SORRY NO REFUNDS"!!!
•IF FULL PAYMENT AND PICKUP ARRANGMENTS HAVE NOT BEEN MADE WITHIN THE TIME PROVIDED, VEHICLE WILL BE RE-AUCTIONED.

Defying Trump, major automakers finalize California emissions deal
Tue, Aug 18 2020WASHINGTON — The California Air Resources Board (CARB) and major automakers on Monday confirmed they had finalized binding agreements to cut vehicle emissions in the state, defying the Trump administration's push for weaker curbs on tailpipe pollution. The agreements with carmakers Ford Motor Co, Volkswagen AG, Honda Motor Co and BMW AG were first announced in July 2019 as voluntary measures prompting anger from U.S. President Donald Trump. A month later, the Justice Department opened an antitrust probe into the agreements. The government ended the investigation without action. The Trump administration in March finalized a rollback of U.S. vehicle emissions standards to require 1.5% annual increases in efficiency through 2026. That is far weaker than the 5% annual increases in the discarded rules adopted under President Barack Obama. The 50-page California agreements, which extend through 2026, are less onerous than the standards finalized by the Obama administration but tougher than the Trump administration standards. The automakers have also agreed to electric vehicle commitments. Volvo Cars, owned by China's Geely Holdings, said in March it planned to join the automakers agreeing to the California requirements. It has also finalized its agreement. The settlement agreements say California and automakers agreed to resolve "potential legal disputes concerning the authority of CARB" and other states that have adopted California's standards. In May, a group of 23 U.S. states led by California and some major cities, challenged the Trump vehicle emissions rule. Other major automakers like General Motors Co, Fiat Chrysler Automobiles NV and Toyota Motor Corp did not join the California agreement. Those companies also sided with the Trump administration in a separate lawsuit over whether the federal government can strip California of the right to set zero emission vehicle requirements. Ford said the "final agreement will reduce emissions in our vehicles at a more stringent rate, support and incentivize the production of electrified products, and create regulatory certainty." BMW said "by setting these long-term, predictable, and achievable standards, we have the regulatory certainty that is necessary for long-term planning that will not only reduce greenhouse gas emissions but ultimately benefit consumers as well."Â
China's auto sales continue to drop
Sat, Sep 12 2015The days of unending growth of carmakers in China look to be over, and some analysts are even forecasting a net drop in volume this year, The Detroit News reports. After falling numbers in June and July, the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers tallied total sales, including trucks and buses, in August to 1.7 million, down 3 percent from 2014. There were some tiny specs of good news in China, but there's no turnaround in sight. Total vehicle sales from January to August are actually still up but only 2.6 percent. Like the rest of the world, SUVs are booming with numbers up 45.6 percent from the previous year. Honda managed a very impressive 50.7 percent gain on the strength of the CR-V and Vezel (the HR-V here), according to The Detroit News. Also, the country's domestic automakers, which generally offer less expensive products, posted a 2.5 percent growth in sales. The news continues to look bad for Detroit's automakers, though. Volume from General Motors dropped 4.8 percent in August, and Ford fell 3 percent in August. Both of them have invested significant amounts there in the past years. The vehicle industry in China grew last year, but there was burgeoning evidence of weakness. At the end of 2014, dealers there pushed back against huge inventories pushed by automakers. Even before the big drops began in June, GM saw the writing on the wall and started cutting prices. BMW responded to the slump by cutting back production to deal with the changing demand. NHTSA and Ford investigating steering issues in Crown Vic, Grand Marquis and Marauder
Fri, 11 Jul 2014There may be more steering woes for the Ford Crown Victoria. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has opened a preliminary evaluation into the Crown Vic and Mercury Grand Marquis from the 2004 to 2007 model years and the Mercury Marauder for the 2004 and 2005 model years because the steering shaft can jam. The issue could potentially affect an estimated 500,000 vehicles.
According to the regulator, there is a possibility that the driver's side heat shield for the exhaust manifold can rust, dislodge, and then wedge into the steering shaft. If this occurs, it leads to a situation where the driver can no longer control the car.
NHTSA has received five complaints of this happening, including one alleged case with an injury. In that situation, the car was driving onto the highway, lost control and rolled over. One occupant was hurt in the accident.
