Hello and thanks for looking at my auction. I feel compelled to address some rather unpleasant feedback I got a while back. I have bought and sold cars from time to time, not as a business, but really as am enthusiast (back home in the UK) and below you will see some of the usual feedback I have received. I sold an Alfa and received the first negative comment from someone who put all funds in paypal, I credited back and he was going to pay cash, then tried to lower the price. I sold it to someone else, who after a month decided he didn't like it and wanted his money back, when I pointed out that it is not the way eBay works, negative feedback left. I was quite upset by this. A lovely person to deal with, a lovely car, thank you. Just what I was after. I know where to go for Alfa advise now :) great guy, very genuine, would highly recommend, sells whats on the tin A+++++ super nice guy,,fantastic transaction, great car very happy,,big A+ cheers mick Exactly as advert described, brilliant car, thanks. A+++ A beautiful car and a fantastic seller, a pleasure..Thankyou A++++++++ OK enough of that and on to the car. Its a fairly low mileage example and the last owner had it for 3 years, prior to that it was in AZ which probably goes some way to explaining how the lacquer has suffered so badly, but on the other side of that coin, why like so many it has not rotted. I am here visiting family for an extended 3 month trip and bought the car to use rather than renting, now that I am returning to the UK at the end of the month, it is time to sell. So to get what I see as the negatives out the way, let me detail those, the lacquer as mentioned, its a bit clunky over bumps and one tyre needs replacing, but I will do that. The a/c is not blowing cold so I dare say a charge is needed. Its a no frills cheap and cheerful car, which is exactly why I bought it, someone could make it really nice or someone could do what I am doing, and simply driving it as it is. The windows and power sunroof all work, as does the aerial and drivers seat. Cruise control is fitted and that works just fine too. The leather is in good order, and the mats while needing a very good clean, are original SHO mats. Factory fitted dual exhaust and factory chrome wheels. The Yamaha engine is quite something to behold, and I was advised by the seller that the cams have been welded, apparently an important issue with these cars, but I have nothing to show it was done, so all you are getting from me too is word of mouth. Gets out of its own way for a family sedan. If I were staying, I would probably give it a Maco special and enjoy it. Thanks for looking and please don't hesitate to ask if you have questions. **Note** I have just noticed some of these photo's are appalling, I will post more tomorrow, apologies. |

Is Tesla's next project an F-150 competitor? [w/poll]
Wed, 13 Nov 2013What's the future look like for Tesla after it launches the Model X CUV and possibly a smaller, sub-Model S sedan? Would you believe a pickup truck? Yes, Tesla could be looking to use its EV know-how to take the fight to Ford and the F-150, based on comments made by company founder Elon Musk.
"If you're trying to replace the most gasoline miles driven, you have to look at what people are buying," Musk said during an impromptu Q&A session following a speech at Business Insider's Ignition conference. "[The F-150 is] the best selling car in America. If people are voting that's their car, then that's the car we have to deliver."
And while the idea of electric pickup may sound kind of absurd to some, Musk makes a very valid point - if Tesla's goal is to replace gas miles with electrical miles, it simply can't afford to ignore pickups.
Dodge Challenger outsold Mustang, Camaro in third quarter of 2019
Fri, Oct 4 2019The Dodge Challenger is nearly old enough to start driver's ed in some states, and it doesn't have a firm grasp on the increasingly crucial concept of downsizing, yet it beat the odds to become the most popular American two-door model during the third quarter of 2019. Its ballooning sales figures suggest buyers don't always want the latest, most advanced car they can get their hands on. Dodge sold 18,031 examples of the Challenger during the third quarter of 2019, a shocking 21% increase over the same period in 2018. It's a true muscle car, normally sardined in the same can as the Chevrolet Camaro and the Ford Mustang, a pair of smaller, nimbler two-doors that are much closer to the historic definition of a pony car. Semantics aside, the Mustang finished on the second spot of the sales podium with 16,823 sales, a 12.3% drop compared to the third quarter of 2018, and the Camaro took third with 12,275 sales, a 15% dip that alarmingly comes in the wake of two redesigns. More specific sales figures aren't available. We don't know what percentage of the sales mix V8s represent, or whether buyers prefer manual or automatic transmissions. The scoreboard looks different when we examine 2019's year-to-date figures. The Mustang takes first place with 55,365 sales, followed by the Challenger at 46,699, and the Camaro at 36,791. While the Challenger's recent ascent is encouraging, it can't mask the fact that two-door models no longer enjoy a favorable tailwind, and the entire segment — not just the American entries — is declining. The aforementioned year-to-date figures are down by 10.1, 11, and 7.6 percent, respectively. The third-quarter statistics revealed a handful of other surprises unrelated to the world of performance. Dodge notably sold three examples of the Dart, a sedan it hasn't built since 2016. That's a 93% drop compared to the 45 units that found a home during the third quarter of 2018.
Ford investing $500M in engine plant for 2.7L EcoBoost production
Sun, 30 Mar 2014Ohio is a hot area for Ford at the moment with the announcement just a few weeks ago that production of the next-generation F-650/F-750 medium-duty trucks would move from Mexico to the Ohio Assembly Plant in Avon Lake, Ohio. Now, Ford is investing $500 million to hire 300 workers at its Lima Engine Plant in Lima, Ohio, to add production of the twin-turbo 2.7-liter EcoBoost V6 for the 2015 F-150.
The latest investment will be used to add a new flexible engine assembly system and renovate 700,000 square feet of the plant for machining and assembly areas. The Lima factory already builds Ford's 3.5-liter and 3.7-liter Duratec V6 engines. The plant opened in 1957, and it's on track to build its 40 millionth engine later this year.
Ford claims that the 2.7-liter EcoBoost will offer V8 performance with better efficiency in the F-150. It comes standard with intelligent stop/start that doesn't activate when the truck is towing or in four-wheel drive, and it's made from a combination of compacted graphite iron and aluminum for low weight and high strength. The company says that V6 engines have already proven popular in the F-150 with 57 percent of trucks in 2014 being equipped with either the naturally aspirated 3.7-liter or turbocharged 3.5-liter EcoBoost engines.
