Up for sale is my 1990 Ford Taurus SHO. This car has the typical SHO interior wear issues but the body is almost perfect and the paint is still in great shape as well. I did a ton of work on this car and spent a ton of cash doing it. I had planned on it to be a vehicle for my wife but that all fell apart on me.
I am a disabled former certified master Ford Technician that developed a passion, and addiction to the first and second gen. SHO's. My wife traded her Bronco for this one and we had to drive a long distance out-of-state to pick it up. While driving from W. Virginia back to PA the car acted as if the clutch was going out. Once the car made it home I went all out...
The Good - Entire clutch kit replaced(clutch, pressure plate, and throughout bearing), new valve cover gaskets with new spark plug O-Rings, new front and rear main oil seals(I forgot the oil pan gasket, don't ask why my memory is useless), fresh oil change, fresh transmission fluid, fresh antifreeze, A/C system recharged with R134 and new A/C O-Rings. The car also got it's 90K service with the following - New timing belt, new platinum spark plugs, new plug wires, new coil pack, new ignition module, new crank position sensor, new cam position sensor, Valve Lash adjustment, new battery, new starter, and 4 new tires. I believe I have most if not all of the receipts for this work the starter and tires were not part of the 90K but I wanted the car to be perfect and safe for my wife to drive and after all this work, and probably more that I've just forgotten, that leads us to...
The Bad - When I dropped the sub-frame and removed the trans I found that not only was the clutch bad but the last "person", I'll be nice here, to replace the clutch left the fork pin out which led to a major failure when I pulled the car in the garage where I did all this work. I also have pictures of the process as it went along. So when I put it all back together and prepared for the test drive I did not have reverse. So we pushed the car out, after a ton of screaming words that I would never say under normal times, and I found out that I was also missing 3rd and 4th gears. So the car can be driven in 1st, 2nd, and 5th. While letting my buddy drive the car back home he was not able to drive the car well as he had promised. The car dove off the road and hit a large rock damaging the sub-frame and fuel line. I fixed the fuel line but went no further. Now enter the red 1989 SHO which I had for parts...
The trans and sub-frame are perfect in this car. The only reason it's a parts car is due to someone blowing out the rings and making the engine lose all compression in all six cylinders. some of the engine parts have been removed from the red car but you won't need the motor anyway. You will get both cars to make one good one and if you finish parting out the red 89 you will have no problems getting the money back that you paid for the 2 of them. The MTX trans is getting hard to find so even a bad one is worth big $$$. Not to mention interior parts, body trim, body parts, and the list goes on.
The 1990 is a beautiful car in good shape for it's age and has had a ton of mechanical work done on it. I no longer have a place to work on it and am left with nothing but a ton of sorrow and lost cash. I love SHO's and went above and beyond to make the car as perfect and safe as possible for my wife. When I found out the trans failed after all of that work, time, and money I was ruined. Having no place to attempt to finish what I started I now just want them to find a good home and somebody who enjoys them as much as I do to put that 1990 SHO back on the road.
You can contact me if you would like pictures and/or any information I may have missed or that you would like to know. My name is Paul and I know the car very well now. The engine and trans are clean enough to eat off of! This car is a beauty and I really want her to be on the road again. My numbers are - Cell -(717)925-4005 and Home - (717)584-5753 call the cell first I take it with me everywhere. Thanks for having a look and happy e-Baying!!

Ford Mustang hit by Moore' Oklahoma's EF5 tornado lives to do another burnout
Fri, 07 Jun 2013Oklahoma recently saw the destructive power of an EF5 tornado, but in the aftermath of the devastation, we've also been witness to the incredible resilience of the human spirit. Moore, OK resident Jack Haden survived the storm but found that his 2003 Ford Mustang wasn't quite as lucky. As you can see in the image above, the tornado's 200+ mph winds did quite a number on the car, but while most people would have likely called their insurance company and scrapped the car, Haden had other plans.
After finding the car and seeing that its V6 still fired up, Haden spent a couple hours getting the car, um... roadworthy(?)... by removing the doors and front clip, cutting off the roof and putting on some new wheels and tires. He noticed that driving it around brought some comic relief to an area that needed a reason to laugh and smile. Check out the KSBI TV news report video below showing before and after pictures of the tough 'Stang, as well as a video showing the newly lightweight coupe doing a smoky burnout.

Mercedes-Benz Sprinter and Ford Transit can haul on the track
Tue, 19 Aug 2014Line up any two comparable vehicles, and eople are going to want to race them. Need proof? In its latest track battle, Auto Express wants to know which commercial vehicle can lap a circuit faster - a Ford Transit or Mercedes-Benz Sprinter. Let's face it, neither of these European vans were ever meant to be near the track unless they are delivering a racecar and a ton of parts for a fun weekend, but it's massively fun to watch them give it a go anyway.
The one thing that Auto Express really illustrates here is the modern marvel that is stability control. The driver hops curves, and these big vans lean in the corners like your friend walking home from a long night at the bar. However, because of the amazing stability systems, the vans mostly keep all of their wheels planted and never seem close to getting sloppy, despite their behemoth size.
Unfortunately, the two vans aren't exactly fairly paired. The Ford has a dual rear axle and a few other advantages over the Mercedes, but it's still hilarious to watch them go. Even better, the host breaks down everything happening behind the wheel like these commercial vehicles were two Porsches. Enjoy watching this very unorthodox battle between Ford and Mercedes.
