Clinton, Washington, United States

2001 Ford Ranger factory EV Electric Vehicle pickup offered for sale.  The pickup is located in Lake Forest Park, Washington, about 10 miles north of Seattle.

This is one of the original OEM Ford trucks that were designed and built as an electric vehicle.

The truck is in near perfect shape, and is very low miles. It is also quite quick and is a sweet driver.

The original NiMH battery pack has been converted to lithium cells and a Bluetooth monitoring system was added to the pack, a new charger was added to take good care of

the new battery pack, and the original front power inlet was upgraded to a new J1772 socket to enable charging from any public charging station. Other than a battery and

charger conversion, this is an nice OEM truck.

This truck was originally converted to lithium by Lanny in Eugene, Oregon. Lanny is a true EV lover, and has made the Ford Ranger factory EV one of his specialties. He

recently removed and thoroughly checked out the pack.

This truck will be offered both online and locally in the Seattle area, and may be inspected and test driven with appointment. If the car is sold locally, the auction will be cancelled before completion.

I am selling this truck for my son, and the truck lives at his house in Lake Forest Park.

Ford car-camo artist works his craft on Australia's new Falcon XR8

Fri, 25 Jul 2014

Ford is among the kings of concealment when it comes to test cars. On one recent Mustang SVT mule, the automaker went to the extreme of putting baffles over the exhausts to hide how many there were. Sounds like a lot of work, right? In a new video, the Blue Oval has decided to take fans behind the scenes to show them what it takes to camouflage a prototype. In this case the subject was the recently unveiled 2014 Falcon XR8 for Australia.
Ford's prototype build coordinator Down Under has the very appropriate name of Neil Trickey, and it's his job to obfuscate the important bits of test cars to keep them out of spy shooters' camera lenses. Trickey calls his job a "dark art," and he shows off some of the tricks of his trade in the video. It turns out that the fabric we often see on mules is a type of lycra, but his team isn't above getting out a can of spray paint to conceal parts, too.
Scroll down to watch a video about a man who you probably wish could be a little worse at his job.

Shelby GT500 laps N"urburgring in under 7:40?

Wed, 30 Oct 2013

A couple of weeks ago we brought you footage and official times of the new Chevy Camaro Z/28 lapping the Nürburgring. With a 7:37.47 lap time, the Z/28 emerged as the fastest muscle car ever to lap the circuit. But what was missing from that picture was how fast the king of all Mustangs, the Shelby GT500, could manage to lap the Nordschleife.
Ford never released any information or footage of the GT500 on the Nürburgring that we were aware of - that is, until the guys at SVTPerformance.com put in a request for Mustang videos. Among the clips they received was never-seen, in-car footage of the Shelby GT500 lapping the circuit. And boy did it hustle.
Although not quite official, the video seems to show the GT500 lapped the venerated German track in a touch under 7:40. That would make it a tick or two faster than the Camaro ZL1 - but what of the Z/28? By Chevy's quoted time, the Z/28 is still faster than the GT500, but SVTPerformance suggests GM may have fudged the numbers a bit and scrubbed half a second or so off their lap time.

Galpin Ford GTR1 supercar debuts in Monterey

Fri, 16 Aug 2013

Galpin Auto Sports has finally taken the wraps off the car we first previewed back in December, the Galpin Ford GTR1. A few weeks ago, we posted the first hints of just what the GTR1 would be capable of, with Galpin teasing that its 5.4-liter, twin-turbocharged V8 would produce in excess of 1000 horsepower, with a top speed of 225 miles per hour. Package all that in a coachbuilt body, and you have the recipe for one wicked supercar.
The price for the carbon fiber-bodied car is $1,024,000.
Now, we have all the glorious details. Galpin is targeting a production run of six cars, but if interest is strong enough, will expand its initial quote to 24 vehicles. The price for the carbon fiber-bodied car is $1,024,000. Opting for the aluminum bodywork could lower that, although it's not immediately clear by how much.
