1994 Ford Ranger XLT. This is a very nice looking pickup, with the exception a few door dings which one would expect on a 19 year old vehicle the body overall is very straight. Also the interior is not perfect but on the other hand not bad for the age of the truck. The majority of the dings on the body are on the upper arch of the rear wheel opening on both sides, from being parked too close to another car in a garage. There is one small chip in the windshield and other than that all the rest of the glass is excellent. The truck does have the sliding rear window. The factory radio has been replaced with a JVC brand player model KD-S36 player, which is in the hole but not hooked up. The truck still wears it's factory rally wheels with centers and the tires are Goodyear Wranglers with approximately 50% tread left. There is a factory Ford bed liner that looks brand new. The battery is approx. 1 year old and the clutch was replaced less than 6 months ago. the truck will start, run, and drive and sounds good as it should, but it has a freeze plug leaking that will need to be replaced before it will be road worthy. The bad freeze plug is on the right side of the engine up front under the exhaust manifold. With this fixed this truck has a lot miles left on it. The engine is the economical 2.3L 4 cylinder with a 5 speed manual transmission. The truck will need to be towed or hauled to it's new home. This would be an ideal 1st car for a new driver or an excellent work truck. I have tried to describe this truck to the best of my ability but have probably missed something that you need to know, if so just ask. If you would like to inspect the truck prior to the end of the auction again just ask and arrangements will be made. Truck comes with a good Missouri title.

Question of the Day: Worst year of the Malaise Era?
Thu, Jun 23 2016The Malaise Era for cars in the United States spanned the 1973 through 1983 model years, and featured such abominations as a Corvette with just 205 horsepower (from the optional engine!) and MGBs with suspensions jacked way up to meet new headlight-height requirements. There were many low points throughout this gloomy period, of course. The horrifyingly low power and fuel-economy numbers for big V8s during the middle years of the Malaise Era make a strong case for 1974 or 1975— the years of Nixon's resignation and the Fall of Saigon, respectively— as the most Malaisey years. But then the GM-pummeling debacles of the Chevy Citation and Cadillac Cimarron could make an early-1980s year the low point. 1979, the year of the ignominious Chrysler bailout? You choose! Ford partnering with MIT, Stanford on autonomous vehicle research
Fri, 24 Jan 2014Ask any car engineer what's the biggest variable in achieving fuel economy targets, and he'll tell you "the driver." If one human can't understand human driving behavior enough to be certain about an innocuous number like miles per gallon, how is an autonomous car supposed to figure out what hundreds of other drivers are going to do in the course of a day? Ford has enlisted the help of Stanford and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology to find out.
Starting with the automated Fusion Hybrid introduced in December, MIT will be developing algorithms that driverless cars can use to "predict actions of other vehicles and pedestrians" and objects within the three-dimensional map provided by its four LIDAR sensors.
The Stanford team will research how to extend the 'vision' of that LIDAR array beyond obstructions while driving, analogous to the way a driver uses the entire width of a lane to see what's ahead of a larger vehicle in front. Ford says it wants to "provide the vehicle with common sense" as part of its Blueprint for Mobility, preparing for an autonomous world from 2025 and beyond.
