1979 Ford Ranchero 500 Standard Cab Pickup 2-door 5.8l on 2040-cars
Somerset, California, United States
Up for auction is a rust free clean 1979 Ford Ranchero Brougham, it is a California truck, with new carpet, and custom 70's paint/sunroof.... Check out those wheels! This was the last of the mid size Ford vehicles with a full frame, and the last year for the Ranchero. This one has the full instramentaion, like the GT models. All the gauges work, even the clock ! The tilt column is in good condition, and the cruise works! The cornering lamps and other lights also work. The engine is a stock 351 M, and has the FMX transmission. The rear axle is the HD ford 9 inch unit. This truck has had the following recently; master cylinder, rebuilt front end including upper control arm ball joints and bushings, new shocks, ( HD overload rears) new tie rods, power sterring box and hoses, new radiator, trans service, and new premium carpet professionally installed. This ranchero is currently California registered, and has recently passed the very tough test. It has a clear title. The sunroof is a twin type, and has not leaked while washing it this summer. It has a carpet bed mat that velcros and snaps in.I have a set of replacement bed trim parts and clips that go with the truck. There was NO rust or corrosion on the floor when I had the carpet replaced. his Ranchero has 2 dents and a few dings, with several paint chips . It also has faded paint on the Left had Quarter. I am sure it has been repainted, but, is the original RARE color. This is the same as the 1978 Lincoln Mark V / Ford Thunderbird Diamond Jubilee color..... All in all, a nice example of the last of the Rancheros......Feel free to ask all questions before bidding, sold "AS IS" will help your shipper. East coast shipping to the NY area is about $1200.00 as a ball park. I reserve the right to end this auction at any time as it is advertised locally. Sold with NO RESERVE! 530-620-3665 |

'Car Wars' says Ford, Honda to pick up share, Fiat-Chrysler ambitions downplayed
Sat, 14 Jun 2014Don't look for a tremendous shifts in automotive market share over the next three years because it might not be coming. That's at least according to the annual Car Wars report by John Murphy, from Bank of America Merrill Lynch Global Research.
In the report's analysis of automakers' market share from 2013 to 2017, it predicts only small changes among the major companies. Ford and Honda see the biggest positive effect with an estimated 0.5 percent increase in their shares over the next three years; to 16.2 percent and 10.3 percent respectively. On the flip side, European automakers and Nissan are expected to lose 0.2 percent each to fall to 8.3 percent and 7.8 percent each respectively. The rest of the industry is predicted to hold steady as it is now.
The biggest loser in that prediction might be Fiat-Chrysler Automobiles. The report certainly throws a wet blanket on its plan for significant gains in market share. Murphy told The Detroit News that the company's goal was "almost unattainable."
