OK HERE WE ROLL... THIS IS A COOL CAR AND A LOT OF FUN. IT WILL NEVER BE A ORIGINAL AGAIN WITH OUT A LOT OF WORK. BUT IT IS A WONDERFUL CRUSE AND WITH A PAINT JOB AND SEAT RECOVERED AND CARPET YOU WILL HAVE A CAR THAT YOU WILL BE PROD TO TAKE OUT ON CRUSES AND CLUBBING. THIS CAR WAS BORN IN 1972 AND HAD A 351 2V ENE AND MOST LIKELY A FMX TRANNY ON THE TREE . NOW THIS IS A 20 FOOTER AND COULD BE 20" WITH EASY. I BOUGHT THIS CAR IN OREGON AND IT IS A OREGON CAR WHICH MEAN NO SALT ON THE ROADS. EASTERN AND SOUTHERN OREGON IS VERY LOW IN RAIN EXCEPT A SHORT SEASON. SPRING. FRONT BUMPER IS NICE DAILY DRIVER AND WOULD SELL FOR $225.00 EASY. AND WOULD GO SHOW WITH A GOOD HIGH GRADE CHROME. THE GRILL AND RING ARE NICE THE THE CHROME AROUND THE GRILL IS HAMMERED . THE SHEET METAL IS ALL GOOD WITH MINER SURFACE RUST HERE AND THERE. NO HOLE I CAN FIND. THE SEAT MONT DOSE NEED TO BE FIX AND I FAVE TH PEACE TO REPLACE IT TO MAKE IT CLEAN THERE IS A SMALL PATCH NEED BEHIND THE DRIVERS SET AGAIN I HAVE THIS PEACE FOR YOU. . IT NEED A WINDSHIELD SO I PUT A NEW ONE IN. NEW . THE PASSENGER DOOR GLASS IS SCRATCHED BADLY AND I AGAIN HAVE A GOOD REPLACEMENT AND FOR A SMALL FEE I WILL INSTALL IT FOR YOU OR IF YOU PAY THE BUY IT NOW PRICE . THIS IS A PART THAT HAS NOT BEEN MADE FOR A FEW REAR SO THERE ARE NO NEW REPLACEMENT ...........THE CAR WAS BLUE . NOW IT HAS A WHITE PAINT JOB. I HAVE A QT OF MATCHING PAINT . YOU WILL HAVE TO HAVE HARDENER AND THINNER. . THE BRAKES ARE GOOD I HAD TO BLEED THEM BECAUSE THEY PULLED THE MASTER WHEN THE NEW MOTOR AND TRANY IN IT
THIS CAR HAD 351 C 2V THERE IS A {NEW ??} SO I WAS TOLD AND IT WAS NOT MANUFACTURER I CAN TELL BUT IT WAS REBUILT FORESHORE, 460 WITH AN ELDIBROCK MANIFOLD,CRAB AND HOOKER CARD TURBO MUFFLER AND NEW PIPES. IT HAS A CAM FOR SURE. THE C-6 IS REBUILT AND ACT LIKE IT WAS DONE RITE I MEAN VERY NICE
WHEN I BOUGHT THIS CAR THEY COULDN'T GET IT RUNNING. ELE WAS THE PROBLEM AND NO SPARK TO THE. THEY TRIED A DIFFERT COIL AND TRIED FOR MOUTHS TO GET IT RUNNING. SO THEY PUT IN STORAGE FOR 2 YEARS. MAN WAS IT DIRTY. IT WAS THERE BARN ON THE FARM. I HAD IT SHIPPED FROM PORTLAND TO MEDFORD OREGON. I SPENT 30 MINIUTS AND 2.50 CENT FOR A CONDENSER AND 2.50 FOR POINTS. IT FIRE UP SO FAST MY HEAD TURNED. I ALSO PUT A NEW HEAVY DUTY BATTERY IN IT SO THERE WAS NO MONKEY AROUND WITH THE LITTLE ONE THEY HAD. IF YOU LOOK AT THE HAGERTY INSURANCE LIST FOR VALUE THIS CAR FIT A 3 ON THE SCALE OF 1 TO 4 .
SOME OF THE GAUGES WORK BUT I DON'T THINK I WOULD TRUST THEM. I TEST THE CYLINDER FOR PRESSURE AND THE ALL HIT 112 ON THE NOISE. OLD PRESSER IS PERFICT AND WATER TEMP IS GOOD BUT NEED A SHROUD AND SO A NEWER 460 CAR OR A 429 FROM 72 BUT THERE WAS ONLY 390 TOTAL OF THOSE SO THAT NOT HAPPENING EVEN THOUGHT I HAVE ONE. FOR SALE NOW AS YOU CAN SEE IN TORINOS. THIS CAR NEED WORK BUT IT NOT THAT MUCH IT DERIVABLE NOW. AND YOU COULD DO JUST THAT. I HAVE A LOT OF EXTRA PARTS SO IF YOU WANT TO TALK ABOUT UPGRADE LIKE POWER BRAKES . I WOULD DO IF I BOUGHT THIS. I HAVE WHAT YOU NEED TO DO IT. TITLE WHEEL IF YOU WANT IT. THESE ARE SAME ADDS BUT WOULD MAKE IT A LOT NICER. SOMEONE LOWER THE REAR SPRING BUT CUTTING OR HEATING AND THAT IS NOT A GOOD THING TO DO . IT BOUNCES ON THE AXCALS. BUT I HAVE A GOOD SET OF REPLACEMENT SPRINGS AND AIR SHOCKS THAT I WILL THROW IN.

2015 Ford Transit Connect Wagon
Thu, May 28 2015The last time I tested a Ford Transit Connect, I needed to drive a group of friends to Boyne, MI, for a long weekend of skiing, snowboarding, and shenanigans. At roughly three hours, the trip is just long enough that my friends asked for something comfortable. A Range Rover would've been ideal. Perhaps a Mercedes-Benz GL or Cadillac Escalade. But no, I chose Transit Connect, to put Ford's small van formula to the test. The tiny van was near the end of its lifecycle in 2012, having debuted in Europe in 2003. Its age was reflected in its loud, underpowered, inefficient engine; noisy, harsh ride; and uncomfortable seats. It was so uncomfortable that we had to stop every hour just to stretch our legs. I didn't have such elaborate plans when this 2015 Transit Connect Wagon arrived in my driveway. But after a week behind the wheel, I can tell that road tripping in this van would be a far, far better experience. The most obvious change for the second-generation model is the styling. It's much better looking than the old TC, looking like the high-roofed spawn of a Focus and Escape. There are a few anomalies, though. First, note the word "Wagon" – that implies passenger van, while the cargo/work-minded Transit Connect is called "Van." Next, this Titanium model is only available on the longer-wheelbase, three-row Wagon. With the LWB configuration, the only tailgate option is a single-piece, lift-up hatch. If you want barn-style doors, get cozy with the short-wheelbase, two-row Transit Connect XLT. Regardless of body style, the Transit Connect Wagon's best styling feature is its enormous greenhouse that guarantees excellent visibility from any angle. The interior adopts a dash layout similar to the Focus. The heated leather seats – standard on the Titanium – are nice enough, but better still is that the chairs are actually comfortable now. The plastics on the dash and doors are still hard and scratchy, but fit and finish is solid. And with major contact points and switchgear that have been pilfered from other Ford products, including the steering wheel, the occasional bad bits in the cabin are easy enough to ignore. With room for three folks in the second row and two more in the back, the Transit Connect Wagon fills a role that is more utilitarian and spartan, but not much less versatile than traditional minivans. The middle row seats feature stadium-style raised seating, and both rows can slide forward and back or fold.
Project Ugly Horse: Part VI
Thu, 21 Mar 2013Solid axle? What solid axle?
I was fully prepared to embark on a seven-day journey down a rabbit hole of broken bolts, internet hearsay and consternation.
This should not have gone this easily. Having a long and checkered history of simple projects punctuated by much wailing and gnashing of knuckles, I was fully prepared to embark on a seven-day journey down a rabbit hole of broken bolts, internet hearsay and consternation when I finally decided to lay hands on the '89 Mustang with the goal of relieving the car of its stock rear axle. Instead, it took less than a full morning's worth of work to carve the old 7.5-inch solid axle from its moorings and mock up something, well, different.
Sunday Drive: Still thankful for supercars
Sun, Nov 26 2017The Thanksgiving holiday meant that last week was pretty short on stories, but apparently our readers are still thankful for supercars. The biggest news of the week was the new Aston Martin Vantage, which is clothed in a new look that Autoblog readers are still very much unsure of. It's a radical departure from past Aston Martin models, and while everyone seems to agree that the profile is lovely, the squinty headlamps are a particular source of contention. Its 503 horsepower and 512 pound-feet of torque cannot be argued with ... oh, and a V12 may be coming soon. Moving along is a nearly new 2006 Ford GT for sale that's expected to fetch around $300,000 at auction. It's so unused that it still has plastic wrap covering the leather interior. The Ango-American theme continues with the McLaren 720S, though not in road-going form. Still, renderings of the upcoming 720S GT3 racer round out this supercar-rich recap. As always, stay tuned to Autoblog for all the latest automotive news that's fit to print.
