1957 RANCHERO

FIRST YEAR (THE REAL THING!)

THEY ARE DESIGNED TO LOOK LIKE THE 57 T-BIRD!!

THE RANCHERO BODY WAS CHANGED MANY TIMES BUT MOST COLLECTORS WILL TELL YOU THAT THIS IS THE MOST DESIRABLE AND HOLDS IT'S VALUE IN THE COLLECTOR MARKET!

AS HENRY FORD ONCE SAID, "RED IS THE BEST AND ONLY COLOR"!

FUNNY THOUGH...THIS 57' IS EXACTLY 57 YEARS OLD IN 2014!!

THE T-BIRD MOTOR IS STRONG AND THE TRANSMISSION SHIFTS AS IT SHOULD AS WELL.

I WISH IT HAD POWER STEERING BUT THE LARGE STEERING WHEELS OF THE DAY WERE LARGE FOR A GOOD REASON!

IT ALWAYS DRAWS A CROWD. THE PIPES ARE REALLY NICE SOUNDING (TALK LOUD DRAW A CROWD!)

THIS RANCHERO CAN TAKE YOU TO WORK...IT CAN DO WORK...AND WEEKEND FUN IS NOT OUT OF THE QUESTION!

IT IS A SOUND INVESTMENT...I CONSTANTLY GET SOLID OFFERS BUT I DECIDED TRY EBAY SINCE MY 50TH WEDDING ANNIVERSARY IS COMING UP IN AUGUST AND I NEED TO BUY MY TOLERANT BUT BEAUTIFUL BRIDE SOMETHING GOLD...KNOW WHERE I CAN FIND A GOLD CADILAC?

OH YA...THE RADIO IS ORIGINAL AND MAKES NOISE BUT IT AIN'T STEREO!?

NICE CUSTOM WHEELS/GOOD TREAD

THE SEATS ARE LEATHER AND THE ELECTRIC CONTROLS WORK

NOT SURE BUT I WAS TOLD THEY CAME FROM A LINCOLN

DOORS AND TAILGATE LATCHES ARE SOLID

FLOORBOARDS ARE SOLID

I AM NOT AWARE OF ANY SIGNIFICANT RUST PROBLEMS

THE TRUCK BED IS SPRAYED WITH BEDLINER (EXCELLENT CONDITION)

ALL WINDOWS ARE VERY GOOD... NO CRACKS... DOOR WINDOWS CRANK UP AND DOWN SMOOTHLY.

SOME PLAY IN THE STEERING WHICH CAN BE TAKEN CARE OF EASILY.

WHILE THIS RANCHERO IS NOT PERFECT...IT IS ALMOST THERE...MY WIFE SAYS I AM NOT PERFECT EITHER BUT I AM ALMOST THERE..!?

HOT AUGUST NITES ARE HERE...DRIVE IN...ROOT BEER FLOATS...A LITTLE ACTION!!! TOO OLD? NEVER! LIVE NOW!

2015 Ford Edge First Drive [w/videos]

Thu, Mar 12 2015

We're routinely told that it's not easy being the middle child. The oldest sibling will always outshine the rest, while the youngest is routinely doted upon. The middle child, meanwhile, is seemingly never able to measure up. You know the drill: Marcia, Marcia, Marcia! But that hasn't really been the case for Ford's mid-kid crossover, the Edge. Sandwiched between its highly successful big brother, the Explorer, and the stylish younger brother, the Escape, the Edge has had plenty of its own bragging rights over the years. It's where the Blue Oval chose to first launch MyFord Touch in 2011, and was one of the company's first applications of an EcoBoost engine in a CUV. For 2015, Ford has given the Edge a brand-new outfit, complete with stand-out sheetmetal and a revamped 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine fitted with a twin-scroll turbocharger and direct-injection. The result is a vehicle that truly stands out from its compact and fullsize siblings while promising to retain Ford's edge in the midsize CUV market. Where many of Ford's cars have opted for a slim, Aston Martin-like grille, the new Edge's face is big and bold. It's around back, however, where the Edge really comes up with its own personality. The slimmer D-pillar forms the edges of a more aggressively raked rear window. It's difficult to spot in pictures, but the result is a decidedly more assertive profile than the outgoing CUV. Beyond that, the rear is home to Fusion-inspired taillights, although unlike Ford's popular midsize sedan, they're joined together by a vehicle-spanning lighting element that prominently features a Ford badge at its center. Ford's work on the Edge's interior is less progressive, though. The owner of a 2014 model wouldn't feel the least bit out of place climbing behind the wheel of a 2015, as it features Ford's same reconfigurable instrument cluster, and a center stack that's been crowned by the latest (and final) edition of MyFord Touch. Meanwhile, more JD Power Initial Quality Study-friendly buttons have replaced the obstinate and unintuitive touch-capacitive controls. The conservative take on the interior design belies the big improvements in material quality. The leather inserts in the doors are more heavily padded and the plastics are far softer. It's a similar story throughout the cabin, where owners will notice softer dash plastics and generally richer materials.

Ford readying Ranger-based Everest SUV?

Fri, 21 Feb 2014

Way back in August, we showed you a Ford concept for the Australian market called the Everest. Now, we can show you that work on the new Ranger-based SUV is well under way.
At this stage, it's still quite clearly a mule (note the misalignment of the front and rear doors), wearing the Ranger's front end and the rump of Ford's overseas Territory crossover. The wheelbase is shorter than a Ranger, according to our spy photographers, which strikes us as somewhat odd for a more passenger-oriented vehicle. Disc brakes should be fitted at all four corners, while the new SUV, which will almost certainly wear the Everest name, should sport a new rear suspension.
In terms of looks, we're expecting the Everest Concept to inform the appearance of the production model. Naturally, there will also be some interior tweaks, particularly around the dashboard, which is covered in these photos.

Ford F-150 SVT Raptor sales jumping to new heights

Thu, 12 Sep 2013

Ford can't seem to build F-150 SVT Raptors fast enough. The off-road-ready trucks have been one of the Blue Oval's most reliable sellers, with record sales in eight of the last 10 months and a 14-percent jump in 2013. That's impressive enough, considering that the least expensive Raptor starts at $44,000. Factor in the modded F-150's fuel economy (it's rated at 11 miles per gallon in the city and 16 on the highway) and a national average gas price, as of this writing, of $3.55 per gallon, and its success is as unlikely as Ford's home team, the Detroit Lions, winning the Super Bowl this year (sorry, Lions fans, we're just quoting the experts in Vegas...).
Yet for some reason, Raptors spend an average of just 15 days on dealer lots before being snapped up, which is a quarter of the 60-day industry average. According to Ford's truck group marketing manager, Doug Scott, it's capability that keeps the Raptor selling strong. "What's helping drive Raptor sales is that Raptor delivers unmatched off-road performance to our customers. Raptor is also proof of our commitment to offer a truck for every customer and continuously improving them to meet our customers' evolving needs."
To address the strong demand for Raptors, Ford will bump production from three trucks per hour to five. Not much, we agree. But building an extra 48 trucks per day, at most, seems like a prudent way of addressing demand without oversaturating what is ultimately a niche market. Check out the press release below for more.
