Ready to go to work!

The truck has a very reasonable 171,431 careful miles. Its a well known fact that these Fords are very reliable and the 6.0 Power Stroke Diesel V8 engine at the heart of this truck lasts for hundreds of thousands of miles with proper care.  This truck has a spotless history report!  This truck is in beautiful condition and shows minimal wear.  The interior is in beautiful shape showing only the most minimal wear!  You won't believe how nice it is!  You'd never guess the truck's mileage by looking at everything and seeing how it drives.  It looks, feels, drives, and handles like a truck with much lower mileage!  The a/c is very cold and the heat is hot.  All the power windows, power locks, power seat, and power mirrors work great!  You have cruise control to make those highway drives much easier. To be in total comfort, you have the fully power adjustable driver's seat!  No warning lights remain illuminated on the dash after the vehicle is started, just as it's supposed to be.  The factory Ford stereo produces great sound and does feature an in dash CD with Ipod connection!  None of the speakers are blown.  The exterior is also in impeccable condition.  The paint is beautiful and very shiny!  The truck still looks great.  The normal wear that you'd expect on a truck of this mileage has been kept to an absolute minimum.

So how does it drive?  The truck still drives fantastic!  Just as you'd expect from any heavy duty Ford truck! You have plenty of power to get on the highway thanks to the 6.0 liter Liter Power Stroke Diesel V8 engine that this truck offers!   The truck actually feels stable at high speeds.  You can do 80 in this truck without feeling like you're going to fly off the road.  It will seem silly to purchase a new/newer one when this one looks just as nice and drives just as good and costs thousands less than the new F-550s in showrooms!  The truck's suspension still feels great.  The engine, while very comfortable and smooth does have all the power that you need.  Acceleration is very smooth thanks to all the torque that the engine provides.  You really feel in control of the truck when its accelerating!   It handles very well.  The 6.0 liter V8 engine is beautiful condition.  It has plenty of power to take on whatever you would need to use it for!  The automatic transmission shifts very smooth, just as it should.  I noticed no flaws at all in the engine and transmission, everything works as it should.  The truck even features cruise control for those long highway drives!  When you need to get this truck stopped, the brakes will do it just as they did when the truck was new, stopping the truck evenly and effectively.   You won't realize what a bargain this truck is until you get behind the wheel and realize how well this truck has been kept!

You will have a very hard time finding a truck that's this nice for such little money.  This truck is really a value with a selling price well below any guidebook's standards.  Go to work tomorrow with this F-550! This may be your last chance to get a high quality, F-550 with all the options! Buy it now!  Don't let another buyer with a couple of quick clicks of the mouse in the final minutes of the auction purchase this truck out from under you!  Don't settle for second best!  Get the truck you have always dreamed of owning!  Don't let this wonderful opportunity pass you by!

Watch this awesome R/C car chase scene made with cardboard and glue

Fri, 22 Feb 2013

It never ceases to amaze us how much video production talent you can find on YouTube, especially when considering movies like Battleship actually exist on the silver screen. It's even better, of course, when cars are involved, which is why we can't stop watching this car chase between a pair of radio controlled Ford Mustangs.
Racing through a detailed set built in the middle of a public street using just "cardboard, hot glue and spray paint," this video is possibly even greater than The Greatest R/C Car Chase Ever that we saw last year. With the exception of a fruit stand and/or a plate-glass window being carried across the street, this has all the makings of a classic cliché chase scene.
Scroll down to watch the scaled-down action ensue as well as the full-scale conclusion.

Ford recalls 90,736 vehicles due to engine valve issue

Sun, Sep 1 2024

Ford will recall 90,736 vehicles as engine intake valves in the vehicles may break while driving, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) said on Saturday. The recall impacts certain 2021-2022 Bronco, F-150, Edge, Explorer, Lincoln Nautilus, and Lincoln Aviator vehicles equipped with either a 2.7L or 3.0L Nano EcoBoost engine, the NHTSA said. According to documents posted by NHTSA and sourced from the automaker, "The engine intake valves may break while driving, which can result in engine failure and a loss of drive power." Following an investigation that started in January, 2022, Ford found 22 instances where "the engine intake valves fractured and fell into the combustion chamber of the engine causing catastrophic engine damage." The automaker's analysis continues: "Ford identified that the potential root cause of the failures was engine intake valve failure due to valves that exceeded the designed specification for hardness, were brittle, and more likely to fracture. Ford determined that this was due to the supplier’s grinding processes and the sensitivity of the intake valve material to grinding processes that were not within control specifications. The intake valve material was changed for vehicles produced after October 31, 2021." Fixing the problem will require replacement of the entire engine. "Dealers will inspect each vehicle to determine its cumulative number of engine cycles. For vehicles that do not meet the engine cycle threshold, dealers will accumulate high revolutions per minute (rpm) engine cycles per a service procedure. Engines will be replaced on vehicles that do not pass the engine cycle accumulation," Ford says.

Why 2015 is going to be a huge year for trucks

Thu, Jan 22 2015

Nissan chief executive Carlos Ghosn took center stage to introduce the 2016 Titan last week at the Detroit Auto Show. He spoke of the truck's new features, impressive Cummins V8 diesel engine and the extensive amount of time and money required to build a modern, competitive pickup truck. "We have done all of this because we see opportunity – an opportunity in the unmet needs of today's American truck customers," Ghosn said. He was speaking about the Titan, but his thoughts echo the industry's mindset: When it comes to trucks, find an opportunity and attack. Even with CAFE regulations looming and fickle consumer preferences, investing in trucks is a no-brainer for automakers. Some consumers will always need a truck for their job or lifestyle. And some people will always want one, whether they need it or not. With that in mind, here are four reasons why the pickup-truck sector is more important than ever and poised for growth in 2015. View 24 Photos The Nissan Titan Is Back Okay, it never left, but the Titan hadn't been redesigned since its launch in 2003, and Nissan sold more NV200s than Titans in 2014. It's an understatement to say the truck was languishing. That all changes with the 2016 model. The Titan will come in two variants, a traditional fullsize competitor and the Titan XD. The XD will lead the market launch, and it arrives late this year. It's pitched as a "whitespace" offering, Nissan sales and marketing vice president Fred Diaz said. The idea is to offer something in the general size and price range of a fullsize truck, but also have some of the capability of a heavy-duty truck. The XD uses a fully boxed ladder frame, the chassis design from Nissan's commercial division, and the wheelbase is about 20 inches longer than other Titan models. The XD, which Nissan is calling the flagship of the line, will be the only model with the 5.0-liter Cummins turbodiesel V8. It produces 310 horsepower and 555 pound-feet of torque, while being able to tow 12,000 pounds. V6 and V8 gasoline models will also be offered on the Titan XD and the standard, non-XD model. When production ramps up, the Titan will be sold with several cabs, beds and trims. New features include trailer sway control, an integrated trailer brake controller, more storage options in the cabin and even laminated front and rear side glass to reduce outside noise. All of this has given Nissan fresh confidence in an area where it admittedly has been lacking. "We can compete," Diaz told Autoblog.
