For your consideration, 1963 Ford Econoline 5 Window V8 / auto conversion hot rod.  A clean and well engineered conversion using a mid 70's 302 V8 and C4 auto transmission.  The truck even uses original on the tree shift lever
to actuate auto linkage.  The truck looks pretty close to stock but with 1965 Mustang Seats and American Racing torque thrust 15" wheels.  The side pipes and V8 emblems along with headers let you know a V8 lurks underneath.
This truck has been driven although it has a show quality 10k paint job, there are some chip touchups and the Rhino lined bed has a few chips, but again this truck drives, runs and looks amazing.   I am an auto appraiser, love cars
and this truck has been a 4 year joy to restore and drive.  The truck came from Washington State, then Montana, then to CT where I restored.  It has the Washington St title and I will provide a Connecticut Bill Of Sale as we do not issue titles on vintage vehicles.    Keep in mind, this truck is 51 years old and has rattles, squeaks and drives like an old truck, it is NOT a Lexus.  Probably better to summarize:

Reason For Sale:  I just don't drive it enough and with 2 kids, I am looking for a 4 seat type of toy :)

Saleen SA-30 Mustang, Camaro and Challenger help celebrate the big 3-0

Fri, 22 Nov 2013

After 30 years of tuning performance cars and building racecars, Saleen is celebrating its racing heritage with a limited-production car line called SA-30. Based on the Ford Mustang, Chevrolet Camaro and Dodge Challenger, Saleen will only build 10 of each SA-30 model at a base price of $95,000.
For that money, buyers will get upgraded suspension, brakes and engines, and while the power figures have not been released for the SA-30 620 Camaro and SA-30570 Challenger models, the SA-30 302 Mustang will be the top performer with 625 horsepower. Each car will be painted up in a custom pearl white hue with black and yellow accents, and get white wheels shrouding yellow powder-coated brake calipers. Inside, the SA-30 offerings will all get a proper Saleen interior with black leather and white Alcantara on the seats, along with the expected smattering of SA-30 badges.
On all three SA-30 models, customers will have various options available to further customize their cars, including a rear-seat delete option that transforms each car's cabin into a race-inspired interior with a chassis-strengthening rear cross brace. Perhaps the coolest feature of all, though, is the Saleen Frost-Touch Glass that is an option on the SA-30 302 Mustang. Similar to the Mercedes Sky Control roof first introduced on the Mercedes SLK, the Saleen Frost-Touch Glass allows the Mustang's optional glass roof and rear window to be switched from transparent to opaque at the push of a button.

Jay Leno and Lee Iacocca reflect on 50 years of Ford Mustang

Mon, 30 Dec 2013

Lee Iacocca oversaw the birth of the Ford Mustang back in the 1960s, rocketing the new pony car nameplate into million-unit sales territory in its initial go-round and cementing its place in the history books. Thus, we were immediately drawn to this latest episode of Jay Leno's Garage, in which the funnyman hosts Iacocca for a look at the origins of Ford's most iconic sports car. The legendary auto exec is looking notably more frail than when we last saw him, but if we're being asked around as a video guest when we're 89 years old, we'll consider that evidence of a life well lived.
Serial No. 0001 is on hand for the occasion for Jay's romp through history, as is the historic Mustang 1 showcar from 1962. Of course, the all-new 2015 Ford Mustang GT (in prototype form) makes an appearance at the end of the episode with chief engineer Dave Pericak, as well. Get some, below.

Ford Focus RS ready to make our hot hatch dreams real

Fri, 17 Oct 2014

Ford's current hot hatch siblings the Fiesta ST and Focus ST are already two pretty great entries into the segment, but there's always a desire for a little more. Thankfully, it looks like the Blue Oval is ready to satiate that need because it's continuing to test the even more powerful Focus RS around Europe. According to our spy shooters, these shots come from near the Nürburgring.
As with previous photos, Ford engineers continue to heavily camouflage the front end of the RS prototypes, but there's a big difference here. Unlike earlier ones, this example appears to have a closer-to-production-ready front bumper rather than just a horizontal strip for the license plate. That may point to development getting somewhat closer to wrapping up. Although, this one lacks the larger rear wing from prior testers, and the exhaust also appears to be a work in progress with the rear diffuser covered in mesh in these latest shots.
The RS is rumored to be using the 2.3-liter turbocharged four-cylinder from the 2015 Mustang, but power is reportedly turned up from 310 horsepower in the 'Stang to somewhere between 325 hp and 350 hp for the Focus. Routing all that just through the front wheels could be a recipe for serious torque steer, and all-wheel drive is potentially being used for better traction.
