CHECK OUT THIS GREAT FIND!

Being a mechanic for more than 40 years, I can say that this is the most SOLID, TIGHT 1951 Pickup I have ever seen. The undercarriage is solid and rust free as you can see in the pictures of the bed.  The boards were being taken out to be refinished, to give them a shine and they never finished it.  So I left them off, that way you could get a look at how clean the body underside is.

This truck was restored approximately 9-10yrs ago... I was told this truck has always been garaged with a concrete floor.  I put in a new a new battery fired it up and drove it. It ran fine.  It runs and sounds AWESOME!

When the truck was restored, the motor was rebuilt at that time.

Replacement parts were as follows:  NEW DISTRIBUTOR, NEW STARTER SOLENOID, NEW VOLTAGE REGULATOR AND RECONDITIONED GENERATOR.

As far as I can tell it needs:  A new water pump (this one leaks), and a new starter (this one drags sometimes). Drivers door has a cracked window, door lock cylendar.

The body of the truck looks terrific in the sun or light of any kind for that matter.  All of the rubber around the windows and doors has been replaced with new.  The wheels ( KEYSTONE RAIDERS) and tires are in good condition.  The paint job is very shiny as you can see.  Some touchup would easily take care of a few imperfections.   The running boards, cab, bed, tailgate, and rear fenders are RUST FREE, and the most solid and tight I've ever seen!

Inside the cab, the seat and door panels are recovered with a matching blue and white. VERY NICELY DONE.

I have set a very LOW RESERVE on this truck...comparing it to others I've seen in the last few months, if it sells for under THE RESERVE you can consider it stolen from me, LOL...

The truck is on a 5 day auction but could end early due to the fact that it is also advertised locally.  If you are a serious bidder... PLEASE, FEEL FREE TO CALL ME with any questions.   636-667-1000

Happy Bidding!

GOD BLESS AMERICA!!!

Ford and 'Dirty Jobs' pitchman Mike Rowe part ways [w/videos]

Thu, 20 Feb 2014

Former Dirty Jobs host Mike Rowe has one less job as of today - the pitchman is no longer a pitchman for Ford, with yesterday's announcement from Rowe ending a seven-year partnership between the TV host and the Blue Oval.
Rowe made the announcement to political pundit Glenn Beck, saying the two are "going in different directions" and wishing Ford "every possibly success that any car company could ever have," according to The Detroit News. Rowe and Ford got together in 2005, right around the time the 51-year-old came to prominence as the host of Dirty Jobs and the narrator for Deadliest Catch, two of the Discovery Channel's most popular shows.
Take a look below for a few video snippets of Rowe's tenure at Ford.

Ford, GM still doing new business with Takata amidst airbag crisis

Thu, Nov 20 2014

Lengthy vehicle development times make it difficult for automakers to cut and run from the supplier. You might expect automakers to be fleeing any connection with beleaguered supplier Takata in the wake of the company's exploding airbag inflator crisis. After all, with a Senate hearing, pending lawsuit, plummeting stock value and demand for a national recall, the tier-one supplier isn't at its strongest right now. However, years of cooperation mean that automakers are standing by Takata, and necessity may be playing a role, as well. About 39 percent of Takata's business comes from airbags, and seatbelts make up another significant chunk of the operation too, says Bloomberg. The long-term relationships and lengthy vehicle development times make it difficult for automakers to cut and run from the supplier. "Takata has so much product breadth that I don't really see that they could just disappear," said AutoPacific analyst Dave Sullivan to Bloomberg. For example, Takata helped develop the unique front center airbag with General Motors in models like the Chevrolet Traverse and Buick Enclave. Outside of safety tech, it is also a partner with Ford on the adaptive steering system available on the upcoming 2015 Edge. These long-lasting partnerships make change difficult now that there's a problem. According to Reuters, automakers claim it would take a year or longer to set up with a different supplier for replacement airbag inflators. Switching to a completely different part for the repairs might not be a viable option either, because of the engineering time needed. BMW is taking action, though. According to Reuters, the Bavarian brand is working with the supplier to move inflator production from Monclova, Mexico, to a Takata factory in Freiburg, Germany. The Mexican plant may be the source of some of the faulty parts. News Source: Bloomberg, ReutersImage Credit: Jens Meyer / AP Photo BMW Ford GM Safety Takata airbag recall

Volkswagen could outsell GM in China for the first time in nine years

Fri, 27 Dec 2013

As of the end of November, Volkswagen had sold 70,000 more cars than General Motors in China in 2013, making it appear inevitable that VW will outsell GM there. The feat would return the German brand to the top of chart in China for the first time in nine years, but even the second-place getter won't be complaining too loudly: both automakers sold more than three million vehicles in a market pegged to hit 16 million sales this year.
Volkswagen said it could have sold more cars if it had had more production capacity in China. The arrival of a new-to-China Audi A4, a China-built A3 sedan, the VW Bora and Skoda Octavia, as well as an $18.2-billion-euro investment in the country to construct new factories, means VW should see its numbers grow in 2014. GM's lineup is expanding next year, too, adding four Chevrolet nameplates and two vehicles to its Baojun brand as it tries to get to five million in sales by 2015.
Among other automakers, Ford benefited from good product and woes for Japanese automakers over a territorial dispute with China, outselling Toyota by almost 32,000 units through the end of November. The Ford Focus is China's best-selling vehicle so far this year.
