This is one phenomenal and one of a kind Kustom, built to be a show stopper, head turner and most importantly a reliable driver.

The build began as a 1950 F1 Ford truck. The original chassis, body and rear end were used on this build but the rest is as we say at Vintage Gas Kustoms "Old Soul with a New Heart..." The truck has much going for it. The engine was rebuilt a little over a year ago along with the tranny and both have approx 7xxx miles on it. It has been driven from San Jose to Los Angeles, approx. 400 miles each way, about 4 times without a problem. Gets driven all over the place around locally and to Sacramento for shows and meets. This truck is so reliable it can be a daily driver if wanted. It has a powerful 302 V8 for power plant and 3.89 rear end with C4 tranny for its drive train. Has a little bit missing like bottom felts on the window and no wing window levers which can be obtained easily. Needs carpet and seat upholstery but the beautiful Mexican Blanket does a great job. Head liner and kick panels will also be needed but not necessary, if desired. These items too are easy to obtain for less than $200 for a kit. The body is a in great shape as is the paint but does have some little chips and small scratches here and there from driving, taking to shows and handling when needed to be moved from one area in the garage to another. Mechanically it is in EXCELLENT SHAPE and is reliable. There are approx 7xxx miles on build.

The truck is definitely a one of a kind vehicle which demands attention and as mentioned before a reliable driver. This vehicle goes everywhere on its own and not on a trailer as most "nice looking" trucks or cars do... (not a trailer queen)... The build was done right. It has participated in many shows, drives and meets. I am not claiming its a show winner because it hasn't gotten entered to any competition shows just yet and its also got lots of character going for it. I'll provide a list of what the truck has and if I miss something I apologize, just ask any questions you might have about the truck as It is being sold as is and no returns or refunds after sale and there is too much to list about the truck itself.

Ken Block's Gymkhana 8 to feature Dubai Police cars?

Tue, Feb 23 2016

Yesterday we showed you the shiny Ford Fiesta that Ken Block will slide, spin, and hoon through the next Gymkhana video. In case the image above isn't clear, that video will drop at midnight EST on February 30th on the Ford Performance YouTube channel. We don't know all the entire premise of the video yet, but this Tweet from the man himself reveals that the video will be set in Dubai. Block is standing on the Fiesta we saw yesterday, and arrayed behind him are a handful of those famous Dubai Police cars you're probably familiar with. The force has a fleet of sportscars and supercars, and the purpose is outreach and goodwill among its citizenry, not necessarily the pursuit of criminals. This content is hosted by a third party. To view it, please update your privacy preferences. Manage Settings. From left to right, we can see a Maserati GranTurismo, Porsche 911, what looks to be a Nissan GT-R obscured by Block's Fiesta, a McLaren (likely a 650S), Ford Mustang, and a Ferrari 599 of some ilk. Will they take part? Maybe Block will try and run from what might be the most horsepower-intensive police fleet in the world. We'll have answers (and a few minutes of pure Block hooniganism) in a few days. Related Video:

Ford exec downplays idea of aluminum-intensive cars

Thu, Jan 15 2015

Ford certainly made waves when it rolled out the all-new 2015 F-150 made primarily out of aluminum. But while trimming weight off its vehicles is a top priority for the Detroit automaker, we shouldn't expect the lightweight metal to be used as widely on passenger cars as it has been on its new pickup. Speaking at the Automotive News World Congress on Wednesday, top Ford exec Joe Hinrichs said that using aluminum in passenger cars isn't as beneficial as it is in trucks – primarily because the weight savings isn't as dramatic, or as deeply needed. Though improved fuel economy is certainly one advantage of aluminum construction in a truck like the F-150, low prices at the pump have prompted Ford to highlight another advantage, and that's capability: With less weight on its own, a lighter-weight truck can carry and tow more than a heavier one, because it all comes down to combined weight ratings. Ford is expected to make the new F-Series Super Duty largely out of aluminum for the same reasons, and we wouldn't be surprised to see the next Expedition use the material as well. But while certain components in Ford passenger cars will be made of aluminum, we shouldn't expect entire chassis and bodywork assemblies to use the material as extensively as on the F-150, or on more upscale passenger cars from the likes of Audi or Jaguar. Dearborn is, however, investing in other lightweight materials. It has a joint venture with Dow Chemical to put carbon fiber into mass production, much as BMW has with its i3. The Blue Oval will use a combination of carbon and aluminum on its 2017 GT supercar, and it has stripped weight by removing amenities from the 2016 Mustang GT350R, but apparently neither is a method Ford can practically apply to its volume models. 2013 Ford C-Max Hybrid

Thu, 02 May 2013

No Prius Killer
As much as we enthusiasts like to rail on the lowly Toyota Prius as the harbinger of death for all we hold dear, there's no denying the machine's absolute and interminable grip on the hybrid hatchback market in the United States. Toyota has so thoroughly sunk its teeth into the segment that you can clearly hear the automaker's incisors clacking against one another with the conclusion of each financial quarter. And there's little wonder why. Buyers can plop down less than $25,000 and have a runabout that can return up to an estimated 51 miles per gallon in the city, leaving every other entry on the market with precious little gristle to gnaw on.
Enter the 2013 Ford C-Max Hybrid. With its claimed 47 mpg combined, the funky little hatch from Europe already falls behind the 48 mpg city offered by the Prius, but that marginal sacrifice in fuel economy could be a small price to pay for buyers who want a credible alternative to the stalwart Toyota. Unfortunately, like the Fusion Hybrid, the C-Max Hybrid had trouble even approaching its Environmental Protection Agency estimates during our time with the car.
