1948 Ford F1 All Original Older Frame Off Restoration, Beautiful Truck on 2040-cars
Broadway, Virginia, United States
1948 Ford F1 all original older restoration. Driven about 200 miles since the restoration, then stored about 15 years due to the owner starting a new business and other family things that life is about. he restored the truck in a detailed frame off on a nice original truck. It appears to have most of it's original sheet metal. Very straight and well detailed. The present owner bought the truck to get it going again and then re-sell. The motor was free and it was treated to a carb rtebuild, went through the brakes with a new master cylinder. It now starts easily and runs and drives great. Everything on the truck works. Sounds like a flathead should. It is missing 2 wheel beauty rings that will be installed on the truck before shipment to the new owner. It only needs minor detailing to be a national show truck. I am listing this truck for a friend who does not use the computer. Call jack 540 833-5284 (home) or 540 810-7570 (cell) for additional information. A $500.00 non-refundable deposit is due within 48 hours of the end of the auction with the remainder due within 7 days. Payment can be cashiers checks , wire transfer, personal checks or cash in person. Checks must clear the bank before the truck will be released. There is no warrenty express or implied, sold as is where is. Your bid is a contract to purchase so please ask any questions before you bid. On Feb-28-14 at 17:37:06 PST, seller added the following information: An inspection by the interested party, or the insterested party's agent is encouraged and can be arranged with a phone call. Transportation from Broadway, VA to the buyers location is the responsibility of the buyer. |

2014 Ford Fiesta ST priced from $21,400* [w/poll]
Tue, 26 Feb 2013The 2014 model year brings a whole host of changes to Ford's Fiesta B-Segment fighter, the most important of which (to our enthusiast eyes, anyway) is the addition of a potent new ST model. The US-spec hot hatch was first shown at the 2012 Los Angeles Auto Show last November, and thanks to Ford's build-and-price site, we've now learned that the Fiesta ST will slide in at $21,400 when it goes on sale later this year (*not including $795 for destination).
Under the hood of the ST is a turbocharged 1.6-liter EcoBoost inline-four good for 197 horsepower and 214 pound-feet of torque, mated solely to a six-speed manual transmission. Ford hasn't released performance data on its pint-sized puncher just yet, but know that these numbers make the Fiesta ST ever-so-slightly more powerful than the larger Volkswagen GTI while returning an estimated 34 miles per gallon on the highway.
Elsewhere in the lineup, the standard Fiesta also gets a smattering of improvements for the 2014 model year, including a new 1.0-liter three-cylinder turbocharged engine and revised exterior styling. Pricing for the 2014 Fiesta sedan starts at $14,000, with the five-door model adding $600 to that number (again excluding the $795 destination fee).
Tier 1 suppliers call GM the worst OEM to work with
Mon, 12 May 2014Among automakers with a big US presence, General Motors is the worst to work for, according to a new survey from Tier 1 automotive suppliers, conducted by Planning Perspectives, Inc.
The Detroit-based manufacturer, which has been under fire following the ignition switch recall and its accompanying scandal, finished behind six other automakers with big US manufacturing operations. Suppliers had issues with trust and communications, as well as intellectual property protection. GM was also the least likely to allow suppliers to raise their prices in the face of unexpected increases in material cost, all of which contributed to 55 percent of suppliers saying their relationship with GM was "poor to very poor."
GM's cross-town competitors didn't fare much better. Chrysler finished in fifth place, ahead of GM and behind Dearborn-based Ford, which was passed for third place this year by Nissan. Toyota took the top marks, while Honda captured second place.
Ford Mustang returning to Australia in 2016
Mon, 15 Jul 2013Australia's Herald Sun newspaper has reported that the next-generation Ford Mustang is heading Down Under in 2016, just as Ford is hanging the "Closed for Good" sign on its Australian manufacturing operations and sending the Falcon to its grave. Ford hasn't offered any official word on the matter, but the paper says that Ford's global VP of sales and marketing, Jim Farley, is flying to Australia to make the announcement himself.
While Ford converted Mustangs in the early 2000s from left-hand to right-hand drive for the Australian market and then sold them at high prices, it's been almost five decades since Ford imported a dedicated right-hand-drive Mustang to Oz. The arrival of the global model specifically made for places like Australia and the UK means Ford will also be able to offer them at better prices than the converted models; the Herald Sun says the price is expected to be "close to $50,000."
And that's for one of the "V8 performance models," which are the only ones Australia will get; Ford apparently won't send the turbocharged four cylinder or the V6. The Aussies could find out in a month from now whether this rumor is true. We will all find out what this Mustang fuss is about when the car debuts at next year's New York Auto Show.
