A super nice vintage / antique 1946 Ford 1/2 ton pickup. Engineer / Machinist built. Owner/builder was an avid participant in the drag racing circuit and has been inducted into the Union Grove Drag Racing Hall of fame. Built on a K5 Blazer chasis with a 350 truck motor and 350 trans., this truck now sports four wheel drive with locking hubs. The heater is currently removed and will be included with the sale. To install the heater, you will either need to step down the voltage to 6 volt or convert the blower motor to 12 volt.. Paint is in good condition, but does have some flaws with cracks and scrapes (see pictures) The one picture that is a little blury shows a crack in the paint from where the original fuel filler was. Right side windshield has a crack in the lower right corner, but have additional glass to be included in sale. Stereo is mounted within the overhead console. Additional pictures to follow. You are welcome to come out to see it, and please feel free to ask any questions. I am selling this for my friend / owner, and if you wish to speak with him directly, I can arrange that too. Truly a unique vehicle. Thank you.

Camaro SS, Hellcat Widebody, and an Airstream camper | Autoblog Podcast #545
Fri, Jun 29 2018On this week's Autoblog Podcast, Editor-in-Chief Greg Migliore is joined by Green Editor John Beltz Snyder and Senior Editor Alex Kierstein. We talk about a lot of American stuff, including the Chevy Camaro SS 1LE and the new Blazer, Dodge Challenger Hellcat Widebody, Ford's new train station and a diesel F-150 towing an Airstream trailer, as well as some Tesla pickup news. Somehow the Kia Stinger also made its way into this red, white and blue episode (because it's great, and it's our new long-termer). This week, we try something a little different in the "Spend My Money" segment. Autoblog Podcast #545 Your browser does not support the audio element. Ford EcoBoost smashes records at Daytona
Thu, 10 Oct 2013Some mighty machines have lapped the banks of the Daytona International Speedway over the years: thunderous V8-powered stock cars, Le Mans-conquering Group C prototypes, open-wheel Champ Cars, knee-dragging superbikes... heck, the infield lake has even hosted powerboat racing. But this - this is the fastest car ever to lap the legendary raceway.
What you're looking at is the new Daytona Prototype being prepared by Riley Technologies for the new United SportsCar Championship. The car, released just last week, is powered by a new 3.5-liter turbocharged V6 from Ford's EcoBoost family, and just obliterated the top speed at the track with a blistering 222.971 miles per hour through the traps.
That's enough to annihilate the previous record that was set, also under Ford power, by Bill Elliott while placing his Thunderbird on pole for the 1987 Daytona 500 that he would go on to win. His 210.364 mph record had stood for 26 years until now.
Ford Shelby GT350R sets 7:32.19 Nurburgring lap time
Mon, Jan 26 2015It was over a year ago that the Chevy Camaro Z/28 clocked a Nurburgring lap time of 7 minutes and 37.47 seconds, propelling itself up the leader boards as the fastest American muscle car to lap the infamous Nordschleife. But now word has it that another piece of Detroit iron has clocked an even faster time. According to Evo, the new Ford Shelby GT350R Mustang has lapped the Green Hell in a blitzkrieg 7:32.19. That's more than five seconds faster than the Z/28, and propels the GT350R into proper supercar territory: incrementally quicker than the Ferrari 458 Italia and in league with lap times posted by the Nissan GT-R (though not the fastest Godzilla has clocked over the years). With output quoted at "more than 500 horsepower and more than 400 lb-ft of torque," and no 0-60, quarter-mile or top end figures revealed to date, this marks the first genuine measure of performance we've seen for the track-focused pony car - though the numbers have yet to be officially confirmed. The GT350R packs a 5.2-liter V8 unburdened by 130 pounds of excess weight helped along by carbon-fiber wheels coated in Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 rubber. Related Video:
