59AB MOTOR, RAN BUT STUCK, NEEDS REBUILDING
PURCHASED 10 YEARS AGO FROM THE ESTATE OF A CAR COLLECTOR THAT DID SHOW QUALITY RESTORATIONS, USUALLY MODEL A'S BUT THIS WAS AND EXCEPTION
HE HAD DONE A FRAME UP RESTORATION AND HAD THE TRUCK TO THE POINT THAT IT RAN AND DROVE, INTERIOR WAS PAINTED AND UPHOLSTERY WAS GOING IN AND HE WAS STARTING ON FITTING THE BODY PANELS AND DOING THE BODYWORK TO PREPARE FOR PAINT WHEN HE PASSED
I HAVE LOOKED EVERYWHERE AND CANT FIND EVIDENCE OF RUST ANYWHERE OR EVEN OF ANY REPAIRS, ITS ALL ORIGINAL, UNCUT
THE TRUCK HAS NEW OAK WOOD IN THE BED FITTED BY HIM, HE WAS A CABINETMAKER BY TRADE AND IT IS BEAUTIFUL AND NOT EVEN STAINED OR SEALED
HE HAD PUT THE SEAT IN WITH ITS NEW UPHOLSTERY AND THE TRIM AROUND THE DOOR, THE REST IS STILL IN THE BOX READY TO GO
THE ENGINE HAS A RARE, VINTAGE HOLLEY IGNITION COIL FROM THE LATE 50'S OR EARLY 60'S
THE ENGINE IS COMPLETE AND LOOKS AWESOME IT JUST IS STUCK DUE TO A BLOWN HEAD GASKET OR ONE THAT NEVER GOT TORQUED COMPLETELY
MANY PARTS NOT VISIBLE IN THE PICTURES ARE IN BOXES AND GO WITH THE TRUCK
I SEARCHED FOR A TRUCK OF THIS QUALITY FOR MANY YEARS BEFORE FINDING THIS ONE AND I GOT TO DRIVE IT ONLY TWICE BEFORE THE ENGINE QUIT, AT THE TIME I DIDNT KNOW WHY, I DONT WANT TO SELL IT BUT ITS TIME

eBay Find of the Day: Mk1 Ford GT40 with interesting history
Sat, 03 May 2014You might expect a rare Ford GT40 to cross the block at some sort of prestigious auto auction from RM or Gooding, not show up on eBay for over $2 million. However, that's exactly what we have here. The seller claims the car is a late-build Mk1 GT40 from 1969, and it's currently owned by the director of the Hublot watch company in Switzerland.
According to the listing, GT40 #P1108 started life as Mk1 car that was built from factory spares in 1969 and was first sold in 1971. However, the auction is somewhat confusing. According to an image in its gallery, the vehicle was actually built from one of the seven spare Mk3 tubs when production of the iconic racers ended.
This GT40 was never built as a racecar - it lived on the streets its whole life. After assembly finished, it was sent to Germany and was eventually registered for the road. The first owner kept the car until 2005 and sold it with 7,300 miles on the odometer. The current owner bought it in 2012.
Mulally to stay at Ford through end of 2014 at least
Fri, 06 Dec 2013Alan Mulally isn't going anywhere... at least not just yet. The CEO who helped turn around Ford Motor Company has been linked to the top job at tech behemoth Microsoft, leading to a flurry of rumors about potential successors. Those rumors, though, may have just been put to rest - at least for a little while.
Speaking to Edsel Ford II (great-grandson of company founder Henry Ford) at the unveiling of the new Mustang, Automotive News Europe confirmed that Mulally would stick around until the end of next year. "Alan is staying through the end of 2014 and that's all I know," said Ford. "Frankly, he has told us that his plan is to stay with Ford through the end of 2014."
Presuming that Edsel Ford is correct and that Microsoft isn't so hot on Mulally that it saves the position for him, it seems increasingly likely that the 68-year-old exec is more interested in continuing to work in Dearborn rather than in Redmond.
Mulally confirms he's not leaving Ford for Microsoft
Tue, 07 Jan 2014In recent months, rumors had been flying about Ford CEO Alan Mulally potentially leaving the company to take a position at Microsoft. Last we heard, Mulally was planning to stick around at Ford through at least 2014, and in an interview today, that bit was confirmed by the CEO himself.
According to the Associated Press, in a report from The Detroit News, Mulally said he will not be leaving Ford for Microsoft, and reiterated that he will remain at the Blue Oval through 2014, if not longer. Mulally has "no plans other than to serve Ford," according to the report.
Mulally did not say whether or not he had been in talks with Microsoft at any point. Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer has said he plans to leave the software company sometime this year.
