1934 Ford Roadster Pick Up

This beautiful 1934 Ford was built about 10 yrs ago using the best parts and equipment available.  It took 2 yrs to complete and has had about 10K miles since completed.  The cost of the build was over 60K.

The Cab and rear fenders are fiberglass.  The front fenders, bed and running boards are steel.  I also have a steel painted hood and plastic button snap windows which will be included.

The interior is tan vinyl with dark brown Berber style carpet.  Nice comfortable bench seat that has storage as well as the fuse panel mounted underneath.

The top is removable made with quality convertible top material stitched around a custom steel frame.  The rear window is glass. The top can be dismounted and taken off the truck but does not fold down in place.

Engine is a V6 GM completely rebuilt using Kenne Bell  parts. Great for cruising with great gas mileage.

The frame and suspension  I believe  is Pete and Jakes front to back with boxed frame, Corvette gen 3 chrome rear end and air shocks. Front end is a chrome hairpins with shocks.  Truck will stop on a dime with 4 wheel  power GM disk brakes and a new master cylinder . Everything underneath  the truck is chrome plated or painted brown metallic. The exhaust has hand built stainless headers with dual exhaust and Flow Masters.  Sound awesome with a low rumble. The tires are Coker bias bly white walls with Wheel Vintiques  steel wheels and spider caps. Bed is Grade 1 select oak and stainless steel bed strips.

The truck is in beautiful condition with typical signs of wear and tear including rock chips.  I have done my best to photograph all present defects. To be show quality it would need to be detailed with a tooth brush and have miner paint work done.

Truck is currently in storage at my machine shop. If you would like additional pictures.  Let me know and I will take them for you. You are also more than welcome to come and inspect it in person.

I will also consider trades for other quality built classics or air cooled Porches. Sorry no boats, motorcycles, RV's or land.

Ford shareholders happy as the Blue Oval stays in the black

Fri, May 15 2015

Ford posted slightly falling global sales and revenue in its first-quarter financial announcement, but pre-tax profits and operating margins were up. Apparently, that was plenty to keep shareholders happy, though. The Blue Oval's recent investor meeting in Delaware lasted less than an hour, and a vote on the approval of the board passed by over 93 percent. Ford CEO Mark Fields continued to predict a strong year financially and increasing profits, according to the Detroit Free Press. The growth comes thanks in large part to the company's 24 global vehicle launches last year and 15 more this year. The likelihood of significant profits from the strong-selling 2015 F-150 should be especially lucrative, too. In the Q1 announcement, the Blue Oval forecast pre-tax profits between $8.5 billion and $9.5 billion for 2015. During the meeting, Fields said that the next 15 years of changes in the industry represent the "ultimate opportunity as a company. As big as when Henry Ford put the world on wheels more than 100 years ago," according to the Free Press. Investments like the expanded technology center in Silicon Valley should push that work along. As US exports top 2 million, is America becoming the world's source of cheap cars?

Mon, Feb 9 2015

North American auto production is booming with 2014 figures just shy of the of the 17.3-million vehicle record set in 2000. With more models being built on the continent, even more are being shipped overseas. Factories in the US exported 2.1 million cars last year – the highest number ever. About half of those went to Canada and Mexico, but more than ever have been heading to places like the Middle East and China. The upswing comes in part from from after-effects from the Great Recession, according to The Wall Street Journal. With a weak dollar and lower production costs after the financial crisis, building vehicles in the US was relatively cheaper and more competitive in the world. At the same time buyers around the world are going crazy for crossovers. According to the WSJ, BMW and Mercedes-Benz are already exporting the majority of their US production of these models overseas. Both automakers have also announced investments to expand production further here to send more vehicles abroad. Even Honda has been shipping more models out of the country than it imported here. There is a concern this international strength could start slowing because the dollar is strengthening against other currencies, though it's too early to know what the actual effect of this could be, according to the WSJ. "Of course, we closely watch currency exchange, but we don't make changes in production or allocation based on temporary fluctuations in the exchange rate," Ford North American boss Joe Hinrichs told the newspaper. Mulally will stay close to Ford after he steps down, plans to advise Fields [w/video]

Fri, 27 Jun 2014

Ford CEO Alan Mulally has less than a week left in his role of leading the Blue Oval before he hands off duties to Mark Fields on July 1. It doesn't look like Mulally is going to be shuffling off into his retirement anytime soon, though. The 68-year-old is being rather secretive about his next move, but he tells Bloomberg in a recent interview that he plans to stay close to Ford. Also, if Fields wants to ask for any advice, Mulally is happy to help.
Mulally took over at Ford in 2006 and led the company through a seriously rough patch in the auto industry. According to Bloomberg, he became famous or his Thursday meetings where executives were forced to deal with any problems before they could leave. Since announcing his retirement from Ford in May, Mulally has been insuring a smooth transition of power by traveling the world to all of company's major locations and saying goodbye to employees and dealers.
In terms of the future at Ford, Mulally doesn't predict any big changes in management style because the rest of the executive team is staying in place. He believes that Fields is going to maintain the processes already in place to keep things going. After all, it seems to be working. The company is predicting a return to profitability in Europe next year and is opening 88 new dealers in China. If the business could get its recalls under control, things could get even better.
