One owner for 24 years plus me. Extremely Clean Red GT Convertible. 25th Anniversary. Video: (Copy & Paste): http://youtu.be/q9TrjRyf-m4nbsp Very hard to find "Manual Shifter" Christmas Mustang. This vehicle is also listed on Autotrader, Cars.com and Craigslist. Don't let the mileage scare you. These 302 engines are just about bullet proof. If maintained properly, and this one has been, these motors are known to easily run a couple hundred thousand miles and more. And if you want a motor a bit fresher with more power, this is a perfect car for that. You don't have to do anything to it. No restoration necessary. You will not be disappointed with this car. The Details: Extremely Clean. Car show ready. Non Smoker. Everything is there. Unmolested, right down to the factory air silencer. Stored the last 5 years. Went in storage in 2008. Everything works great. Drives perfect. Very strong motor. I have a binder about an inch thick on all the service and maintenance records. The original owner was a stickler for having things "Right". He even had the drivers side power window "motor" replaced. Now who does that? Everyone I know would just push the mirror with their thumb to adjust it. Original window sticker and owners manuals. Never wrecked. Always stored in climate controlled garage. Put in storage in 2008. All new Leather seats in 2007. (1 yr. before it went into storage) New Convertible Top in 2007. " " New Exterior Paint in 2007. New top cylinder/motor in 2007. New white convertible boot cover. New in black leather bag. This car was ordered from the factory with every option available in 1989. The car runs perfect and has no issues. The car ran perfect when I picked it up. I drove it 260 miles back home. But, I too, like things "right". And I like to "know" things are right. So.... I am a gear head and before putting it up for sale I gave it a little tune up for the new buyer. I like things to be right and don't want the new owner to have to do anything but enjoy driving it right away. Plus, I just like tinkering. Recent tune up: 10/15/2013 New: Spark plugs and wires. MSD cap & rotor. Cleaned Mass Air Sensor. Cleaned all air intake pipes. Cleaned throttle body and EGR. New Air filter. New Ignition Coil. New Accessory Belt. Changed fuel filter. Changed Oil & Oil Filter. New upper and lower radiator hose. New radiator cap. New oil pressure sending unit. New water temp. sending unit. Radiator flush. New battery terminals. I washed it and waxed it for you. I vacuumed and armoralled it for you. Some issues: *The tires have a lot of tread left on them and plenty of miles left in them, but the rear tires are slightly cupped. Between 50 mph and 55 mph you will feel a slight vibration in the rear. Before and after 50 - 55 they're smooth. *The seat belt plastic sheaths are starting to split. *The clear coat on the rims could use a little touch up after 24 years. Check pics. I have looked very carefully for door dings or dents. I haven't been able to find any. The body panels are in great condition. I have been fixing up and tinkering with Fox Bodied Mustangs for twenty years. I love them and really enjoy them. I take a lot of pride in each Mustang that I have and I take pride in getting each one in proper shape for any new buyer and home. This Mustang runs great. I would not hesitate to drive it any where. Use my plates for the drive home and mail them back when you get there. This Mustang is a "Drivers Car". Don't just park it in your garage. Drive it and enjoy it. That is why it was made. Have fun and enjoy life. Any questions please let me know. David 419 7three3 33zero7. Thanks for looking. Good luck. This vehicle is sold "As Is, where is" with no warranties expressed or implied. Ford, Volvo, Google, Uber and Lyft form self-driving alliance
Tue, Apr 26 2016Five companies arguably leading the worldwide effort to develop autonomous cars said Tuesday they're forming an organization to lobby the federal government to better prepare America's roads for self-driving technology. The founding members include some of the biggest companies in the automotive, autonomous, and ride-sharing realms – Ford, Google, Lyft, Uber and Volvo. Operating as the "Self-Driving Coalition for Safer Streets," they aim to work with lawmakers and regulators to clarify a disparate set of rules and regulations at both the state and federal levels that could hinder the deployment of autonomous cars. "The U.S. risks losing its leading position due to the lack of federal guidelines for the testing and certification of autonomous vehicles." – Hakan Samuelsson David Strickland, a former administrator of the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration who issued the first set of autonomous-related policies in that role (pictured below), will serve as the group's counsel and spokesperson. "The best path for this innovation is to have one clear set of federal standards, and the Coalition will work with policymakers to find the right solutions that will facilitate the deployment of self-driving vehicles," he said in a written statement. In January, Transportation Secretary Anthony Foxx said his department would accelerate efforts to craft such federal standards. Those efforts include holding two public hearings on standards, the second of which is scheduled to be held Wednesday in Palo Alto, California. Foxx signaled the intent to deliver them by June. Google has been leading the efforts to ensure such standards are national in scope, warning their cars could run afoul of state-specific laws should they cross state borders or if standards varies between the federal efforts and regional ones. The complexity of such efforts was underscored recently, when NHTSA agreed that Google's software could be considered the driver of a vehicle for the purpose of meeting federal motor vehicle standards, an interpretation that would conflict with preliminary California rules that mandate a licensed driver operate a self-driving car that comes equipped with human controls like a steering wheel and brakes. At South By Southwest last month, Jennifer Haroon, Google's self-driving car business leader, said the company couldn't accomplish its goals under those regulations.
Kawei K1 pickup blatantly copies Ford F-150
Thu, Apr 24 2014The Chinese auto industry used to be looked at as a joke full of products blatantly copied from foreign vehicles. However, companies like Qoros and others show that the country's automakers have taken big steps in terms of original design. It doesn't look like every automaker there is ready to put down the tracing paper yet, though. Case in point: The Kawei K1 pickup pictured above, which is an obvious rip-off of the Ford F-150. In fact, the company isn't even hiding it. Kawei deserves a little credit for its openness. In describing the new model, it says: "No matter the black net grille and the outline of the headlamp, even if the styles of fog lamp and engine cover, it looks the same as Ford Raptor." It also admits that spelling out the model name on the hood is inspired by Land Rover. It's available with either a 2.4-liter, gasoline-fueled four-cylinder producing 141 horsepower and 148 pound-feet of torque (elsewhere it also lists it as having 162 lb-ft) or a 3.2-liter six-cylinder diesel with 106 hp and 181 lb-ft. Regardless of engine, power is sent to the rear wheels through a five-speed manual gearbox. The trucks cost around 100,000 Yuan ($16,033). So at least the K1 is a reasonably priced knockoff. According to Car News China, the K1 is actually selling in small numbers. The company made 10,000 of them last year and even exported some to Africa and the Middle East. Kawei's factory is doubling in capacity this year to build even more. You can read more about the truck on the company's website in some very mangled English. Ken Block's Gymkhana 8 to feature Dubai Police cars?
Tue, Feb 23 2016Yesterday we showed you the shiny Ford Fiesta that Ken Block will slide, spin, and hoon through the next Gymkhana video. In case the image above isn't clear, that video will drop at midnight EST on February 30th on the Ford Performance YouTube channel. We don't know all the entire premise of the video yet, but this Tweet from the man himself reveals that the video will be set in Dubai. Block is standing on the Fiesta we saw yesterday, and arrayed behind him are a handful of those famous Dubai Police cars you're probably familiar with. The force has a fleet of sportscars and supercars, and the purpose is outreach and goodwill among its citizenry, not necessarily the pursuit of criminals. This content is hosted by a third party. To view it, please update your privacy preferences. Manage Settings. From left to right, we can see a Maserati GranTurismo, Porsche 911, what looks to be a Nissan GT-R obscured by Block's Fiesta, a McLaren (likely a 650S), Ford Mustang, and a Ferrari 599 of some ilk. Will they take part? Maybe Block will try and run from what might be the most horsepower-intensive police fleet in the world. We'll have answers (and a few minutes of pure Block hooniganism) in a few days. Related Video:
