Up for sale is my 2005 Mustang GT premium convertible. I've owned here since 2009. Dyno tuned by AED in Cameron Park. Their shop was recently featured in an article in Muscle Mustangs & Fast Fords. Dynoed her when I had first gotten the Procharger with the Diablosport tune that came with the kit. At the time she was only seeing 5lbs of boost because of the exhaust, intake, and headers. Put down 398hp at 5PSI. Decided to get an SCT tuner, to be able to tune better. Also got a smaller pulley to get to 10PSI, and laid down 478rhwp. But the injectors were maxed out, and the discussion of E85 was brought up. I ordered a set of 80lb Ford Racing injectors, and a stainless steel fuel filter. First pull on gas, 491rwhp. Then switched over to E85. Tuned her to 523.2rwhp and 513.9ftlbs at only 22 degrees of timing! Then the fuel pump maxed out. Luckily a friend of mine had a GT500 setup, so I bought that from him. Haven't had the time to install it yet. Shaun that tuned her, said that "with another 5-6 degrees, you'd see maybe 40-60 more horses". Knowing the limitations of the stock blocks, I decided to run her on the gas tune, and not push my luck and end up blowing her to pieces. The SCT tuner comes preloaded with the E85 tune, and gas tune. Also, another tune, that'll help you run the fule pum, in case you want to empty the tank to switch to E85. Just disconnect the feed at the rail, and turn the key. If I were to keep it, the next step would be a forged rotating assembly, and more BOOOST!!!! She drives just like a stock GT, until you plant the right foot to the floor! Even with the stiff SPEC clutch, my wife has no problem driving it.

In the time that I've had her, I have spent a small fortune on upgrades and modifications. Started with suspension and brake upgrades late 2011. Then it went downhill from there! Supercharger, clutch, GT500 conversion, etc. She has Bilstein shocks and struts. Ford Racing 1" lowering springs, and swaybars. Adjustable in the front. DBA gold rotors, and Hawk pads - stops on a dime! Spec stage 3+ clutch. Procharger 1FP214-SCI HO kit. C&L intake. GT500 throttle body. Edelbrock headers. Granatelli 3" stainless steel exhaust. Dual oil separators - 1 on each side. Remote dual oil filter setup, and oil cooler.  (Increased the capacity by 3qts) Plus a TON of other bits and pieces!

I had an in dash DVD/GPS unit in her. But the unit started acting up, so I installed the stock Shaker 1000 system. I had also gotten upgraded door speakers, Rockford Fosgate 6x8, and Pyramid subs. Since there was an aftermarket headunit in there, she is wired front to back. Battery in the trunk, and 4 channels (2 sets of RCA) run. Also remote power signal, signal for backup camera, camera mounted in the bumper, and video cable for it. Lastly, 2 sets of speaker wires, to hook up for the front speakers, if an amp is trunk mounted. Right now it's running off the stock Shaker amps. Sounds awesome! When I put the stock unit back in, I bought an aftermarket harness to enable me to plug in my ipod/iphone. When I did, the radio resets the time every time I start the car. Comes back to 12:00. Not sure if that's the adapter, or the radio. Everything works fine on it, just strange that it resets.

Last fall I sold off all the stock front pieces, and did a GT500 conversion. Found a used Trufiber knockoff hood locally. Then sourced the rest online. With that install, I got custom stripes cut. Running down the sides along the doors - custom cutout that reads SUPERCHARGED, then CORNFED GT. Up the fender, (Ford Racing logo) curves on the hood, Procharger logo, etc. and down the center. I got enough material cut, that the next owner can continue the stripes down on the bumper, and also for the trunk if he/she chooses. Also painted the inside of the hood, coated with flat clear.

She is coming up on 61K. She had 30K when I bought her. She's been to Boston, Grand Canyon, Las Vegas twice, and Seattle. She shows normal wear for her age. 2 dings that I can think of. 1 on the passenger fender, by the stripe. About an inch long. A bicycle fell over in the garage, and the handlebar knicked the GT. The other on the drivers side rear fender, about a dime size. Tried to take a picture of it, but couldn't get my camera to focus right. Paint is fine there. I try to stay on top of rock chips with a touch up brush.

Comes with the stock intake manifold and stock throttle body. Also available the stock rear taillights. When I had the exhaust installed, also made catless downpipes with V-bands. 5 minute swap!

On Jul-29-13 at 02:02:26 PDT, seller added the following information:

Forgot a couple of things. When I had the clutch installed, I also got a new master cylinder, slave cylinder, and an upgraded stainless steel braided line. This helps with reducing flex in the line, common in the OEM plastic line under high line pressure. Also, the Procharger was installed at at 56K miles. Haven't even had a chance to do the 6000 mile oil change in the headunit. So it's practically brand new! I still have the remaining bottles of oil that came with the kit from Procharger that'll come with the car. Also, I have installed red LED lights for the driver and passenger footwells. Can be turned on with a switch in the console. Discretely lights up the floor. Handy at night if you drop something. Or out cruising, gives it a certain ambiance!

2015 Ford F-150 begins rolling off line at second factory

Sun, Mar 15 2015

Ford needs more F-150s. Yeah, we just told you that a few days ago. The Blue Oval is reporting that its trucks are spending a mere 18 days on dealer lots, following a January that was the truck's best month in over a decade. Considering both of those facts, the timing is perfect for Ford to ramp up production of its all-aluminum truck by bringing its Kansas City, MO factory online. KC Assembly has been building F-150s for decades, and completed a $1.1-billion expansion to accommodate the all-aluminum 2015 truck (as well as for work on the Transit van). Similar to what was done at Ford's Dearborn, MI factory, the Blue Oval spent 13 weeks upgrading the plant's body shop, paint shop and a road-test course. Over 900 jobs were added as part of the update. Combined with the equally upgraded plant in metro Detroit, Ford can build 700,000 trucks per year. "The all-new F-150 has surpassed our expectations – setting new standards for fullsize truck capability, technology and efficiency," Joe Hinrichs, Ford's Americas president said in a statement. "With production starting at Kansas City Assembly, we are better poised to start meeting growing customer demand for our pickup." Scroll down for the official press blast from the Blue Oval. This Ford F-150 might have a Land Rover turbodiesel V6

Thu, Dec 17 2015

Our spy photographers just caught this Ford F-150 driving around Dearborn, wearing camouflage around the bed – not so unusual near Ford's headquarters. What's interesting with this particular mule is that it might be packing a Jaguar-Land Rover turbodiesel V6. As with the Super Duty, the F-150 prototype pictured here sports a Venturi exhaust tip popping out the side of the rear bumper behind the wheel, which – along with the sound reported by our shutterbug – suggests that it's burning oil up front. That could mean Ford has found another application for the 3.2-liter, five-cylinder Power Stroke diesel that it just federalized for the Transit van. However our sources suggest what the mule is actually powered by the 3.0-liter Lion V6 diesel that Jaguar Land Rover – once subsidiaries in Ford's Premier Automotive Group – is bringing over for the Td6 models of the Range Rover and Range Rover Sport. The engine produces a respectable 254 horsepower and a healthy 443 pound-feet of torque, and is tipped to be mated to the same ten-speed automatic transmission as the new Raptor. That could give the F-150 the kind of fuel economy and muscle it would need to challenge the likes of the Ram 1500 EcoDiesel and the heavier-duty Nissan Titan with the Cummins engine. With gas prices as low as they are, however, and sales of diesel-powered vehicles lagging, Ford could just be trying to keep up with the competition by offering a light-duty diesel pickup. With its lightweight aluminum body, the diesel F-150 could even surpass the Duramax diesel-powered Chevy Colorado and GMC Canyon for frugality at the pumps, according to Mark Williams of PickupTrucks.com. He told Autoblog that, "it makes perfect sense for Ford to do a diesel. It seems like everyone is pushing them to do a Ranger, but if they can get the F-150 to push 30 mpg it can challenge the Ram Ecodiesel and even the Colorado Duramax." Reached for comment, Ford spokesman Mike Levine sent us the following statement: "We do not speculate about future products. While diesel is a solution, it is not the solution. EcoBoost offers the ideal combination of performance and fuel economy that over 60 percent of F-150 customers are choosing." Best cars for snow and ice in 2023 and 2024

Tue, Jan 23 2024

What's the best car for snow? The real answer is "the one with winter tires." What do we mean by that? You could have the finest, most advanced all-wheel-drive system or four-wheel drive in the world, but if you're running all-seasons (the spork of tires), your fancy four-wheeler won't matter much. The odds are, any vehicle on the road running good winter tires will probably perform adequately in slippery, slushy and/or snowy road conditions. (Here's a more complete explanation of why winter tires are totally worth it). In other words, you don't really need any of the cars on this list. With a set of winter tires, countless others will do the job, and even these will be at their best with proper rubber. You can find a variety of winter tires for your car here at Tire Rack. Keep in mind that you will need a full set of four snow tires for safety and performance, no matter what you're driving. The days of your dad putting just two snows on the family truckster to get it moving in a straight line are long gone. Don't get us wrong, getting a car that performs well in snow and ice is still a worthy criteria for car buyers. According to the U.S. Transportation Department, 70% of Americans live in places that get snow and ice. And much of the country has been blasted with arctic air for much of the new year. So let's look at the cars. First, we're highlighting choices for a variety of buyers and price points. Second, we're not just considering snow; we're considering general wintery conditions people will experience driving to work or school. As such, these are all choices with advanced all-wheel-drive systems, usually with "torque-vectoring" systems that not only automatically shunt power front and back, but side to side between the rear axles. Most have extra ground clearance for getting through deep snow, and we prefer those vehicles with more responsive steering, throttles and transmissions that provide a greater sense of vehicle control in slippery conditions.    Acura RDX Read our Acura RDX Review Acura's Super-Handling All-Wheel Drive system was one of the first to offer torque-vectoring, and besides often being touted for its ability to greatly enhanced dry-road handling, its benefits in the slick stuff can be profound. It's actually surprising that Acura hasn't leaned into this capability further by offering more rugged versions of its vehicles.
