2001 Ford Mustang SVT Cobra

Only 17k miles

Rare Performance Red Coupe only 226 built

Immaculate condition hard to find SN-95 Body Mustang

Major upgrades have been done to this SVT Cobra

We have all documents and receipt, and some build photos of this well executed Cobra.

Well over $23k in receipts and we are missing several.

The major upgrades:

New BOSS 50 Block, SHM Ported FR500 Heads, SHM Stage 1 Cams, Forged 3.70 Cobra Crank, Manley 3.70 Pistons, SHM Long Tube Headers, #42 Injector Kit, M-afterburner, Complete Griggs GR-40 Koni Tubular Racing Suspension, Koni Shocks, 18” Bullet Wheels, Full Length Sub-frame Connectors, Pro 5.0 T-56 Shifter, Kenny Brown IRS Adjustable Inner Tie Rod Kit, Power Tower shifter, Custom Stereo system by Cartoys, 18” Bullet wheels with high performance tires, and more….

All parts provided by racing legend shops like Kenny Brown racing and Sean Hyland Motorsports.

This gorgeous, nearly new, 2001 SVT Cobra is far better than factory, with almost 450 hp on tap due to its BOSS 50 block, 3.70 x 3.70 Bore and Stroke, SHM Stage 1 cams and ported FR500 heads. The build only has a few hundred miles on it do to the old 4.6 based block having a sleeve drop requiring the rebuild. Done right, with no expense spared, this cars parts list and build add up to almost as much as the car cost new. This car drives fantastically, is very fast, shifts perfectly, sounds like a beast and handles like no Mustang I have ever driven.  Dyno sheet is included.

If you are in the market for an independent rear suspension Mustang look no further, you will not find a nicer, better built example anywhere.

All chassis set up is complete and optimized by FMR racing here in Portland.

We have an entire folder full of receipts, and even have the original window sticker. Feel free to call or email with any and all questions.

Please remember that if you bid and win the auction, you will be expected to complete the transaction. Recently we have had a few cars sell and then not have the individual follow through. We put a ton of time and effort into the cars and the presentation, please respect that and follow through should you bid.

Inspections are welcome, but must take place prior to the end of auction.

Feel free to call or email with any questions, 503-475-8078 Josh, or 503-819-9007 Matt.

We are happy to help you arrange shipping anywhere in the world.

Good Luck and Happy Bidding!!!

Next Ford Mustang to drop 400 pounds

Thu, 15 Aug 2013

The Ford Mustang is already the lightest of the current crop of muscle cars, at around 3,600 pounds for a GT coupe with the six-speed manual transmission. That's almost 260 pounds less than a Chevrolet Camaro SS and about 450 pounds less than a Dodge Challenger R/T, which means the Mustang has a pretty big advantage when it comes to handling, braking, accelerating and economy. More good news: The next Mustang will be even lighter.
According to a report from Edmunds, the sixth-generation Mustang, which is set to debut at the 2014 North American International Auto Show, will shed an additional 400 pounds of body fat. That 11-percent weight reduction will be thanks to lightweight materials, with a particular focus on using stronger, but less material in construction. Aluminum will feature heavily, but Edmunds' inside source warns that there is "nothing terribly exotic" coming to the original pony car.
The other big news is that the new Mustang will be smaller overall. It's going to be 15-inches shorter than the 188.5-inch Mustang on sale today, while it'll also be 6.5 inches narrower. Shorter overhangs, both in the front and rear, are also good signs for those that want an agile Mustang.

Galpin Auto Sports and Fisker turn the Mustang into a Rocket in LA [w/video]

Thu, Nov 20 2014

Galpin Auto Sport and Henrik Fisker made big promises about the Rocket before its debut at the Los Angeles Auto Show today, calling it the "ultimate American muscle car." Now that this 725-horsepower carbon-fiber Ford Mustang has officially been revealed, we've now got a chance to see if their vision backs up all the bluster. The Rocket is based off the latest 2015 Mustang, but the entire exterior design has been substantially reworked by Fisker. "This is a project born out of passion, it's a dream come true, to have the opportunity to 'touch' a Mustang and apply my design ideas to it," he says in the model's announcement. The biggest changes come up front, where Fisker has added a gaping hexagonal grille with a polished bar running and two nearly hidden driving lights at the top corners. Long nostrils run down each side of the hood, taking their inspiration from the 1968 Shelby GT500. The Rocket's design also emphasizes its scalloped sides, which run back to functional ducts at the rear to cool the Brembo Grand Turismo brakes. When checking out the Rocket from the rear, it's easy to spot the wider fenders that are beautifully blended into the integrated spoiler. The interior has been left mostly alone beyond some eye-grabbing red leather and carbon-fiber trim. Under the hood, Galpin spokesperson Nathan Hoyt has confirmed to Autoblog that the Rocket employs a 5.0-liter V8 with a Whipple supercharger which can be called to attention with a six-speed manual gearbox. It took only a few months for the vehicle to go from conception to reality. Fisker showed Galpin President Beau Boeckmann early sketches at this year's Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance, and the two parties went from there. "When Henrik showed me his ideas, I got chills - it's literally the most beautiful Mustang I have ever seen," says Boeckmann in the company's release. Production is set to begin in December, with deliveries starting in early 2015. There's no set production total in mind for now, but Hoyt tells Autoblog that the price will be "just over $100,000." Scroll down to read all of the details about Fisker and Galpin's Rocket.

Ford's BlueCruise gains hands-free lane changes and more in update

Fri, Sep 9 2022

Ford is sending out an update to BlueCruise that will enhance its functionality with some nice features we tend to enjoy on other advanced driver assistance systems. Plus, in addition to BlueCruise getting the update, the Lincoln version named ActiveGlide will get the same update. For starters, both BlueCruise and ActiveGlide will gain hands-free lane changing. Similar to other lane-change assist systems, you’ll prompt the lane change by activating the turn signal. ItÂ’ll scan for traffic, and if all is clear, the vehicle will move into the requested lane. Ford says that itÂ’ll even suggest lane changes to the driver in the cluster as you approach slower-moving traffic. What this new feature doesnÂ’t do, though, are automatic lane changes. Systems like Super Cruise and TeslaÂ’s Autopilot will recognize slower traffic, then make a pass all on their own to move around said traffic — theyÂ’ll even move back over into your previous lane after making the pass. We wouldnÂ’t be surprised if Ford adds this functionality to the system in a future update. Another update in this release is new “In-Lane Repositioning” programming. ItÂ’s designed to recognize when there are vehicles in adjacent lanes and will then shift you further away from them within your lane of travel. Ford says itÂ’s especially helpful when passing semi-trucks, and will give you the usual and more comfortable buffer that a human driver might give a truck. The final update is a Predictive Speed Assist feature that will adjust your speed as you approach a curve. It will signal to the driver in the cluster that the car will slow for a curve, then do so gradually as you approach it. This is the sort of feature we typically like to turn off as soon as possible, since weÂ’d rather just remain at the same speed for curves on the highway. But, if youÂ’re one of those folks who like to slow down for curves on the highway, this will provide a more natural driving feel. Ford says that customers have cumulatively put over 16 million hands-free miles on cars with BlueCruise at this point. This update, simply named 1.2, for BlueCruise and ActiveGlide will see its initial rollout this fall. It will hit the Mustang Mach-E first, and Ford says other vehicles will follow.
