Here for sale is a real Roush prepared Bondurant race school car. It is orange with black powder coated 17” rims.  This is a 2001 Ford Mustang GT that was built strictly for the Bondurant racing school . This car is track ready and comes with 100+ pages of shop work orders and weekly inspection check lists covering its entire career. It also comes with 6 pages of modifications that Roush did in 2001. It has a full roll cage, and fire suppression system, as well as a cooling system from an F-250 and tranny cooler out of a police interceptor. The radiator is a larger Cobra R aluminum radiator with a larger overflow tank mounted in the trunk.  This car is also fitted with a Spahl electric puller fan and a higher capacity water pump from a Triton V10 engine. Bondurant made these modifications because they were used at the Bondurant school in the Arizona desert basically making sure these cars never overheat. The suspension is comprised of COBRA R or SVT Cobra parts including an adjustable front end with heim joints and a Roush designed 3 link suspension utilizing stock lower control arms, a tubular torque arm, and a Panhard rod to keep the rear tires planted and also prevent wheel hop. It sports a rear sway bar and the front which is a 1” bar . Steel spacers and urethane bushings firm up the endlinks. The front end alignment for these cars was setup with negative camber and toe out for increased corner turn in capability. In general this allows for better handling on the track. This car is equipped with a 4.6L V8 and 5 speed manual trans with mods including removal  of all catalytic converters and adding a full exhaust, richening the air/fuel ratio, lowering the rev limiter 400rpm (7200 down to 6800) to protect from detonation at constant high rpms,  disabling the wide open throttle cutout on the air conditioning compressor, and an external oil cooler fitted into the front air dam. This car is equipped with working A/C for those hot Arizona days. There are many safety add-ons as well, such as 4 welded hold down points, a six point Roush built roll cage, a full Halon fire system, Recaro racing drivers seat, and simpson belts. The brakes are composed of Cobra calipers, 13” rotors, and carbon metallic performance friction pads. The fronts are cooled via ducts that run through the fog light inserts. A competition –style Fuel Safe fuel cell with an internal bladder is protected by a frame mounted bar underneath. The fuel pump has been re-plumbed with steel braided stainless fuel lines. None of these school cars were ever titled but they do carry a VIN number 1FAFP42X51F124325 would be the one for this car. These official Bondurant school cars were to be crushed at the end of their service, but some were saved and made it into the public’s hands. If you were to have one of these built by Roush in period it would cost approx. $48,000. This one is clean and never wrecked with only 11,750 well maintained miles on it. This is perfect for your collection or to track drive if you are looking for something with an interesting history that is ready to go. We are race shop and can ship to anywhere in the lower 48 states. Please contact for details. Good Luck Bidding!

Acura Integra, Ford F-150 Lightning, Kia EV6 win 2023 North American Car, Truck, Utility Vehicle of the Year

Wed, Jan 11 2023

After much testing and deliberation, the winners have 2023 North American Car, Truck and Utility Vehicle of the Year (NACTOY) Awards have been announced. Previously whittled down to three finalists in each category over the course of the past year, the 2023 NACTOY winners are as follows: 2023 North American Car of the Year: Acura Integra 2022 Acura Integra A-Spec front low View 38 Photos The Acura Integra has won in this year's Car category, beating out the Hyundai Genesis Electrified G80 and Nissan Z. The Integra nameplate has been revived for the 2023 model year, with the Honda Civic-based sedan offering an affordable sport compact from the luxury brand. You can read our First Drive review of the Acura Integra here. 2023 North American Truck of the Year: Ford F-150 Lightning Ford F-150 Lightning front low View 48 Photos The Ford F-150 Lightning has taken the award in the Truck category, knocking out the other two finalists, the Chevy Silverado ZR2 and the Lordstown Endurance. It was interesting to see two all-electric contenders in the pickup field, one based on a legacy platform, and the other coming from a new company and using novel, in-wheel motor technology. It's Ford's third NACTOY Truck win a row. The battery-powered Ford F-150 Lightning is the most powerful F-150 to ever roll off the factory floor, and it has proven itself to be wildly popular, and for good reason. You can read more about it in our First Drive review. or our buying guide. Also worth noting is that the truck's Onboard Scales and Smart Hitch technology won Autoblog's 2022 Technology of the Year Award. 2023 North American Utility Vehicle of the Year: Kia EV6 2022 Kia EV6 GT-Line AWD front three quarter mid View 35 Photos Kia EV6 has taken the top spot in the Utility Vehicle category, over two other all-electric rivals, the Cadillac Lyriq and Genesis GV60. This seems like it was probably the toughest choice for the NACTOY jurors, as these are each excellent EVs. The Kia EV6 is built on the same E-GMP electric platform as the Hyundai Ioniq 5 and the Genesis GV60, which means it has 800-volt battery architecture for extremely fast charging, available all-wheel drive and plenty of power. The EV6 has quickly become a favorite at Autoblog, especially since joining our long-term fleet. Read more about it in our First Drive, buying guide and long-term reviews.

2015 Ford Mustang gets pricing, configurator and less weight than expected

Fri, 13 Jun 2014

It's here; it's finally here. No more speculating or looking at dealer order guides, the configurator for the 2015 Ford Mustang is finally online. That means you should put down whatever you're doing and build your new 'Stang. Weight data for the new model has also leaked out, and while there is an increase, it's less than previously rumored.
The basic V6 coupe carries a base price of $23,600, plus an additional $825 destination charge for all models. Upgrading to the 2.3-liter Ecoboost costs $25,170, and the Ecoboost Premium is $29,170. If you need a V8 in your life, the Mustang GT is $32,100 or $36,100 with the Premium package. That puts the starting price up about $1,000 over the previous generation for the V6, but the turbocharged four-cylinder starts about $1,400 less than the V6 Premium, which is no longer available. Prices for both V8 models jumped about $1,000, as well.
If you need the convertible Mustang, the V6 starts at $29,100, excluding destination, $1,590 more than last year. The Ecoboost Premium 'vert is $34,670, and the GT droptop is $41,600.

Ford F-150, Chevy Silverado, Toyota Tundra flunk IIHS headlight test

Tue, Oct 25 2016

The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety put pickup truck headlights to the test and found that the majority of them were equipped with subpar units. The 2017 Honda Ridgeline was the only truck to earn a rating of "good." The large pickup truck test was comprised of the: 2016 to 2017 GMC Sierra, 2017 Nissan Titan, 2016 Ram 1500, 2016 to 2017 Chevrolet Silverado, 2016 to 2017 Ford F-150, and 2016 to 2017 Toyota Tundra. The Sierra's headlights earned a rating of "acceptable," the headlights found on the Titan and Ram 1500 were found to be "marginal," and the ones on the Silverado, F-150, and Tundra were rated as "poor." IIHS claims the F-150 was the most disappointing out of the large pickup trucks as both its halogen and optional LED headlights failed to provide adequate visibility during testing. The Ridgeline (which earned a "good rating"), is usually considered a midsize or small truck, though IIHS included it in the field of large pickups. The headlights on the 2016 Chevrolet Colorado, 2016 GMC Canyon, 2016 Nissan Frontier, and 2016 to 2017 Toyota Tacoma, which made up the small pickup truck group, all earned a rating of "poor." The IIHS claimed the Colorado had the worst headlights of any truck that was tested, as the base vehicle's units were only able to illuminate up to 123 feet in front of the car. The Ridgeline's headlights, for reference, were able to illuminate up to 358 feet in front of the vehicle. To conduct its test, the IIHS utilizes a special tool to measure how far light is projected out of the headlights in different driving situations. The trucks' headlights were tested in a straight line and in corners, while vehicles with high-beam assist were given extra praise. The headlights on the pickup trucks also mimic the testing that was done on small SUVs and cars earlier this year. Next year, automakers will need to fit their vehicles with headlights that earn a rating of either good or acceptable to earn the IIHS Top Safety Pick+. Related Video:
