1993 Ford Mustang Coupe Black/black 5 Speed 73k Miles on 2040-cars
Fort Mill, South Carolina, United States

Up for sale is my 1993 Ford Mustang Coupe Black/Black with 73,4xx original miles. This is a well documented, two-owner stock coupe. I am the second adult owner of this car and have owned it for the past three years. The car has been fully detailed and is ready to go to it's new owner. I know there are a lot of sellers that are advertising their coupes only to have second thoughts after they see all of the interest. That is not the case here, she is ready to go to a new owner. Please click on the links for pictures and videos: **After i started the listing I noticed that the vehicle history report shows "3 calculated owners", which is incorrect. The NY registration event was when the original owner moved in with family in NY. I am sure the title had to be given to NY DMV when the car was registered in NY, that is the reason it's incorrectly stating "3 Owners". I am the second owner, no doubt. My asking price is $14,800.00, and that includes all of the original documentation and the many parts listed or pictured below. The asking price is a lot less than what i have put into this car, but then again i never expected to get a full return. I appreciate the consideration and I know that you will enjoy owning this car and you should not have to replace anything mechanical, i have replaced or repaired most everything.. The car is located about 15 minutes from the Charlotte, NC airport. Please, call me with any questions, or to set up a date and time to come see it in person. I can and will provide additional pictures and videos to interested parties. My name is Dan and I can be reached on my cell @ 856-371-7513. I will only accept cash or a cashiers check from a local bank where I can verify the funds prior to releasing the title or car. The title is free and clear.I will only hold the car if a deposit is made. If you need to fly in to inspect the car, or want to hire a certified inspector to confirm the condition prior to the sale, i will be more than happy to work with you and will make myself available. Also, if you need or want to hire a transport company to pick up the car, I will also make myself available so the car can be picked up, but you will of course be responsible for any transport costs and insurance. A few extras/bonuses that made this car more appealing to me, and will to the new owner: Only one previous owner, you will be the third. The original window sticker, Plastic floor mats from the dealer, plastic keys, spare set of keys, the id card for the locking lug nut, two audio tapes, the Ford 1993 Mustang brochure, the Mustang’s owner’s manual with the Car dealership sales cards and warranty card. I also have the unopened Child seat locking clip, warranty booklet and three other factory books that came with the car. A little weird, but I saved an Arby’s and Dove Soap coupon that I found under the seats when I vacuumed the car when i first took ownership of it, they are dated with a 1997 expiration date. I also have a folder that is stacked with many receipts. A little history on the car... This mustang was originally purchased from Mountain View Ford in Chattanooga, TN, and then lived most of its life in GA. The original owner was an older gentleman that drove the car to work each day, as most of us would have done back then. A few years before it was offered for sale, the original owner moved in with his family and at that time decided to put the car into storage. The car was offered for sale and I quickly purchased it and had it shipped to me in S.C. where it has remained for the past three years. As noted above I am the second owner; I bought it almost three years ago and have enjoyed restoring and driving it when time and weather allowed. This car has never been raced and has never had any performance modifications to the engine. The only changes to the car are a complete paint restoration, Flowmaster mufflers (original owner installed) and I had the AOD swapped with a WC T5 (Included in the sale is the original AOD with pedal assembly, shifter, cooler lines and torque converter; everything you need to convert it back to original factory specs) Everything else on this car, was and is in its stock form, not even a CAI was installed on this car. The car drives like new and I would not hesitate to drive it across the country. Everything works as it should, no issues at all. There are no accidents that I know of and none were found by the vehicle history. When the car was stripped for paint, the painter found no bondo or repairs to the body, all VIN tags are present. The motor has no performance work done to it at all, it’s all original other than tune-ups..etc. The paint, being three years old is beautiful, although there are a few tiny stone chips that are only visible if you look hard enough and would not be noticeable on any color paint except for black paint.. The interior is near perfect, no stains, fading or tears on the seats, headliner or rug, not anywhere. The frame and underside has no rust and is very clean. All of the electrics work as they should, all bulbs light as they should. The air conditioning works, as does the heat. The airbag is fully functional. I recently replaced the airbag diagnostic monitor do to the backup power supply being depleted after all these years.. The paint is not original as mentioned; it had crazing on the bumpers, hood and roof when i bought it. The car had to be repainted; it wasn't an option for me to keep it in that state, even though the majority of the original paint could have been refinished to look "decent", I decided to get it all done at the same time so it would match. I selected the most reputable paint shop in the Charlotte area to media blast and restore the paint to its original state. I paid $4,567.02 for the paint work (receipts will be provided). The paint work has a fully transferable lifetime warranty, and it’s listed right on the PO I will provide to the buyer. The paint shop that did the paint work on the car has been in business since the 80’s and does full restorations, paint and custom fabrications on very expensive imports. The paint looks amazing, and anyone that has owned a black car knows that it’s tough to make a black car presentable in full sun. Below are a few of the notable maintenance and/or work that was done over the years. This is not a complete list. Again, I have a folder full of receipts on this car. Paint 2-Stage Paint, color matched to factory color. Most of the car was media blasted prior to paint. All of the trim around the front/rear glass, quarter glass, exterior door trim and the side view mirrors were painted at the same time. Which is more fuel efficient, driving with a pickup's tailgate up or down?
Tue, 26 Aug 2014
Thanks to the smoke wand in the wind tunnel, you can actually see the difference in our video.
Should you drive with your pickup truck's tailgate up or down? It's an age-old controversy that's divided drivers for decades. Traditionalists will swear you should leave the tailgate down. Makes sense, right? It would seem to let the air flow more cleanly over the body and through the bed. But there's also a school of thought that argues trucks are designed to look and operate in a specific manner, and modern design techniques can help channel the airflow properly. So don't mess with all of that: Leave the tailgate up.
Ford taps Canada-based Multimatic to build carbon fiber Ford GT
Mon, Feb 16 2015Ford has given Canadian firm Multimatic the nod to build the carbon fiber body on the new GT – The Blue Oval says it has worked with this company for 30 years. The global supplier provides parts and engineering to various automakers, and while based in Markham, Ontario it has 12 plants in Canada, the US, Mexico, England, and China. When announcing the decision at the Canadian International Auto Show, Ford says it chose them "because they have specialized equipment for carbon fiber production and expertise in carbon fiber assembly," and we've heard that the 600-horsepower coupe will be produced in a purpose-built facility at Ford's factory in Markham. Even better than that – for GT purposes and for possible hints at a Le Mans run – the Multimatic Motorsports division can be contracted for engineering and race team management. They currently produce the Boss 302R racecar in the Continental Tire SportsCar Challenge, worked on the FR500C, and their Multimatic Motorsports Lola B2K/40 won its class at the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 2000. The first models will roll off the line at the end of next year. Production numbers are rumored to be in the low hundreds, with a six-figure price tag around $200,000. They'll go into production in time for some sort of 50th anniversary celebration of the GT40 taking the the top three spots at Le Mans in 1966.
