Ford Mustang LX third generation, hatchback, 3 doors (two up front and one on the back), 2.3 cylinder, 5 speed manual, with a rear quarter glass window.

Paint: This car has the original paint with the Cabernet red color (code 2H).  Ford placed a small passenger side dashboard emblem with a galloping horse logo to commemorate its 25th anniversary.
Body: The car body is in very good condition for its age...please refer to the pictures as part of the description.
Interior:  interior is clean, we just did a carpet cleaning job on the inside, however the seats and carpet have some stains, no cigarette smoke odors.
Seats:  Seats have the original upholstery fabric. Seats on the back are in very good condition but they show some minor stains.  Bucket seat on the passanger side is in very good condition however shows some stains.  Driver side bucket seat has a very large rip and probably will need a seat cover or re-upholstery job.
Engine:  replaced engine with 80738 miles on it.  The engine was professionally replaced on March 2012 and runs like a champ.  Also the car have a new starter, two fairly new tires that were purchase about three months ago.   Heater core does not work.  Air conditioning needs service.
This is an old car so buyers be aware that some parts have imperfections  or damage (interior-exterior) on the inside/outside body. The back door does not hold up because one of the springs does not work and we used a stick to hold the door up (works like a charm).  Included a tire jack and spare tire.
The car runs very strong and with not problems.  Oil change was done every three months as a regular scheduled maintenance.
This car is to be sold "AS IS" with no warranty of any kind, written, verbal or implied.
Buyer will arrange for transportation and any fees in related to it.
Tags are good for the entire year and are due until December 2013.
Again, refer to the pictures since those are part of the description.

Ford is building this sweet back-to-basics SUV in Brazil

Mon, 02 Jun 2014

We're use to forbidden fruit teasing us in Europe. Hatchbacks and diesels from Renault, Citroën, Peugeot, Skoda, SEAT and Alfa Romeo have been a regular torment that we've grown accustomed to over the years. This vehicle, though, is one piece of forbidden fruit we aren't entirely sure we can get over. We need it.
It's called the Ford Troller T4, and if you accidentally read that as either "reborn Ford Bronco" or "Americanized Land Rover Defender," we wouldn't be rushing to correct you. It's a basic, badass SUV, and is the first new vehicle to come from Troller since Ford gobbled it up in 2007. For those with longer memories, you'll recognize this vehicle from the concept that preceded it, the Ford T-R Concept. The production model remains remarkably true to the T-R, as well as past Trollers, but it's a slightly more modern look overall, with LED taillights, contrasting colors
You'll have to bear with us on the details, as we've been forced to rely on the notoriously literal Google Translate to convert the original Portuguese into English, which means some of the details were lost along the way.

TX officer allegedly lets 140-mph street racer go with a warning [w/poll]

Tue, 26 Aug 2014

Being pulled over by the police is one of the most nerve-racking situations that a driver can go through, and it's even worse when you know that the officer has you dead to rights for speeding well over the posted limit. In this video, the driver of a heavily modified Ford Mustang with a claimed 966 horsepower at the rear wheels could have easily lost his ride for doing triple-digit speeds and street racing, but a friendly Texas police officer appears to send him on his way with a simple warning.
What's more, the driver in question wasn't just speeding - his Mustang was the camera car for a bunch of rolling street races in the wee hours of the morning on a Texas highway. The driver was more than willing to mix it up in the action, too. Eventually the cops catch on and pick the 'Stang to pull over, but not before the Ford owner runs a claimed 140 mph. With only audio to go on after the car is pulled over, the police officer seems incredibly nonchalant about catching someone who was so brazenly breaking the law. Incredibly, the patrolman actually tells the driver that he's seen everyone racing tonight but ignored them. With traffic picking up, the cop says that it's time to "cut it out" and go home for the night. As far as this video shows, that was the end of it.
Warning: There is explicit, not-safe-for-work language in the video below.

Automakers' rush on aluminum may result in shortage

Thu, 13 Feb 2014

Aluminum is the new buzzword in the automotive industry. The latest Range Rover and Range Rover Sport both take advantage of the lightweight material to shave huge amounts of body fat (only it's called "aluminium" over there). Audi and Jaguar have been using the stuff for years in their A8 and XJ, respectively, and now, aluminum is going mainstream, arriving on the 2015 Ford F-150.
While we're excited to see aluminum make an impact outside the premium market, its widespread adoption apparently won't come without some problems, notably in terms of supply. "There isn't an automotive manufacturer that makes vehicles in North America that we're not talking to," Tom Boney, of Novelis, the largest global supplier of aluminum sheetmetal, told The Detroit News.
According to Boney, Ford's use of aluminum on such a large scale has forced auto manufacturers in "every boardroom" to reconsider their plans following the F-150's unveiling, for one simple reason: there's not exactly enough aluminum to go around, at least in the short term. The auto industry presently only accounts for six percent of the aluminum sheet produced, but as the material is adopted by more and more brands, that figure is expected to swell to 25 percent within the next six years.
