THIS IS A NO RESERVE AUCTION CAR WILL BE SOLD TO THE HIGHEST BIDDER! GOODLUCK!!! This is an excellent example of 1989 Ford Mustang GT Convertible. 25 Year anniversary GT Convertible in bright red, with sand beige cloth interior.  Second owner car, purchased in July '09 from the original owner who purchased it new back in 1988 from Peyton Cramer Ford in Redondo Beach, California.  Car has been in California its entire life. I have a copy of the original window sticker, all with all the original books that came with it from Ford. This Mustang has been in the garage her entire life and still sports the bright red original exterior paint in excellent condition. The previous owner kept the car in a weather proof airplane hanger along with other classic cars and took extremely good care of this car until I bought it a little over 4 years ago.  The car still has the original clutch, brakes, convertible top and many other original OEM parts. This mustang has never been in an accident, raced, red lined, ripped burners, or drifted a corner.  Unlike all the abuse and modifications done to the 79-93 Fox mustang 5.0 generation, this car has truly been babied and a joy to drive.  Very few mods have been done which include 16" cast alum. pony rims from the stock 15" rims.  H pipe exhaust design thru flowmasters mufflers. Mishimoto alum. radiator, Alpine CD/FM radio deck with Amp in the truck. The rest of the car is stock with 66,360 original miles.  Everything on this car works with one exception which is the air conditioning, it works simply needs to be charged up with freon. This car runs extremely well no disapointments. Interior is 9.5/10, articulated sport seats with power lumber support works excellent and the dash looks as good as new.  Car instrumentation panel was upgraded from previous owner to later model 140MPH speedo.  Tires are very good 8.5/10. Two scratches appear on the rear bumper, I tried to show them in the pictures.  Car doesn't come with the OEM radio. The car is currently listed as a non-op in the state of California.  If you are a California resident and which to purchase this car, the car will be delivered with current smog and registration. 2014 Ford Fiesta 1.0L EcoBoost

Fri, 09 May 2014

I'll be honest; when Ford first unveiled its 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6, I was skeptical. Past attempts at building turbocharged American cars were almost universally awful, I reasoned, so why would Ford's latest effort be any different? This may seem foolish today, considering the success that the growing EcoBoost range has achieved - particularly the 2.0-liter and 1.6-liter mills. Yet I once again found myself questioning Ford.
It's the makeup of the 1.0-liter, turbocharged three-cylinder slotted into the compact engine bay of this Fiesta that has a way of breeding doubt. Three-cylinder engines remain an extreme rarity in the US. What's more, they earned a less-than-desirable reputation for applications in the 1980s and 1990s, and my trepidation about this latest three-pot as a result.
As I found out, though, history is a poor informant of modern technology. The thrust available in other cars with the EcoBoost badge on the back has not gone missing here; something the International Engine of the Year committee has lauded. That august body named the 1.0-liter Ecoboost the best engine of 2012 and 2013. After a week of driving, it didn't take long for my fear of threes to get turned into something like that line of thinking.

Ford builds one-off 50th anniversary Mustang Convertible for charity

Thu, 08 May 2014

At the New York Auto Show this year, Ford revealed a special-edition Mustang to honor the iconic pony car's 50th anniversary. Only 1,964 highly symbolic examples will be made, all of them fixed-roof coupes. But the Blue Oval automaker has just announced that it's also building a single 50 Years edition convertible that it will raffled off for charity.
The first production example of the new Mustang Convertible to roll off the line this fall, this one-off will pack many of the features on the 50 Years coupe, including its white paintjob, chrome trim, aluminum dashboard, two-tone upholstery, contrast stitching, special 19-inch wheels and special-edition badging throughout.
This unique cabrio will also be fitted with a special performance pack including Pirelli PZero rubber, Brembo brakes and a limited-slip differential to help get the 420 horsepower and 390 pound-feet of torque from the 5.0-liter V8 through the six-speed manual transmission and down to the road. It'll also feature a serial plaque with the number 0001 of 0001 and chairman Bill Ford's signature.

Ford looks to space robots to improve car-to-car communications [w/video]

Wed, 21 Aug 2013

Ford has partnered with St. Petersburg Polytechnic University for three years to research various kinds of connected vehicle communications. The university tie-up is part of its study of space robots, NASA systems created to enable space-to-Earth communication, and the university's own development of systems that enable communication between the International Space State and Earth.
The objective is for Ford to engineer layers of robust networks and redundancy systems that will allow your car to speak to other cars, to emergency vehicles, to infrastructure like traffic lights and buildings, and to the cloud. Benefits would come in just about every area of transit, from avoiding accidents, to getting medical workers to an accident more quickly, to improving the flow of traffic during rush hour.
Check out the press release below for details on what Ford wants to learn from the JUSTIN Humanoid and NASA Robonaut R2, and a video of technical leader Oleg Gusikhin discussing his interest in the project.
