You are bidding on a restored 1988 LX Notchback with a fully forged 408W motor and Magnum T56 Transmission. I bought this vehicle used in 2008 in Hastings, Michigan as I decided to do a Fox body resto mod after a few New Edge mustang projects. There is none and never has been rust on the vehicle. It was stripped to bare metal for a complete show car paint job in 2012. Single stage was used in the engine bay. The paint is perfect minus one chip on the hood just under the front leading edge. The motor's horsepower is yet unknown, however estimated above 450 and runs on pump gas. The engine is tuned via a handheld Anderson Ford Motorsports PMS tuner with piggyback computer system; Ver 4. The interior was completely restored with TMI Products leather and foam with a new headliner and package tray. The carpet was Mass Back new from Late Model Restoration. The windshield and rear window is all new glass and tastefully tinted. The dash material is still stock as well as the console with the exception of the custom gauges from Florida 5.0.  The wheels are Shelby 18" rims wrapped in Potenza RE 760's (275/40/18; 255/35/18). The suspension is the Maximum Motorsports Maximum Grip package for this year Fox Body and grips like it is on rails. The exhaust system is Hooker Super Comp 1 7/8" Headers through a 3" Catted Custom X-pipe through flowmaster series 50 mufflers. The tail pipes were left deleted for suspension clearance and race appearance. The Magnum T56 transmission was purchased new from AMP Performance in Phoenix, AZ with a Quicktime bell housing and short throw shifter. The RAM HD 800Ftlb clutch glues the tranny to the motor when engaged via a billet clutch quadrant and firewall adjuster.  The Cervini hood covers the 408W with a custom chrome hood arm for showing the motor off at car shows. One exception to perfection is the limits of the AFM handheld tuner. No tuner in my immediate area is experienced in this system. I have tuned it for drivability and longevity and 14.7:1 idle and cruise driving. WOT is tuned to a comfortable 11.5:1 from 2500-6000 RPM via the Innovate Wide Band gauge mounted nicely under the climate control. The only complaint in the tuning I have is that it is a little cranky after hot starts for 60 seconds, then runs completely normal. This is due to the limitations of the PMS tuner, my personal knowledge, the 408ci and the Ford EEC IV A9L computer.  This could be rectified with a qualified tuner burning a chip for the vehicle for about $400-$450. Not something in close proximity to my location right now.  Also, the electric control switch of the side view mirrors and rear window defrost has been disabled. There has yet to be a radio reinstalled in the blanked out dash panel where the wideband gauge is mounted. The vehicle is being auctioned as is with deposit due upon auction close. Shipping is the financial and arrangement responsibility of the auction winner. This Notch is great. Its time for me to move on to another project. Fun to drive, turns every head on the 18 mile trip to work. May cause symptoms of drooling and envy among owners of lesser equipped vehicles. 90% of parts receipts available. Remaining purchase items not recorded were minor trinkets (vacuum hoses, miscellaneous fasteners, etc.) Details below. Good Luck.

Your official Ford Transit specs are here, $29,565* to start

Wed, 04 Jun 2014

Ford has released the full list of pricing and specs on its new Transit, the replacement for the long-lived E-Series cargo van. Prices are set to start at $29,565 and can increase rapidly from there, depending on length, engine and wheelbase, among other options.
Let's talk first about those new engines. The base is the familiar 3.7-liter, naturally aspirated V6. It boasts 275 horsepower and 260 pound-feet of torque and can return up to 14 miles per gallon in the city and 19 mpg on the highway. This engine can also be adapted to run on LPG or compressed natural gas. Of course, there are better alternatives, for a price, the first of which is Ford's well-received, 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6. It packs 310 hp and a best-in-class 400 lb-ft of torque (available at just 2,500 rpm) while matching the naturally aspirated engine in both city and highway fuel economy.
Then, there's the diesel. With a 3.2-liter, five-cylinder diesel mill at its disposal, the Transit generates 350 lb-ft between 1,500 and 2,500 rpm, along with 185 hp. This engine hasn't been rated by the EPA, although we'd be really, really surprised if it didn't handily best either of the gas-powered engines in fuel efficiency. A six-speed automatic is standard, regardless of engine.

U.S. automakers unite in opposition to possible Trump vehicle tariffs

Mon, Feb 18 2019

WASHINGTON — The U.S. auto industry urged President Donald Trump's administration on Monday not to saddle imported cars and auto parts with steep tariffs, after the U.S. Commerce Department sent a confidential report to the White House late on Sunday with its recommendations for how to proceed. Some trade organizations also blasted the Commerce Department for keeping the details of its "Section 232" national security report shrouded in secrecy, which will make it much harder for the industry to react during the next 90 days Trump will have to review it. "Secrecy around the report only increases the uncertainty and concern across the industry created by the threat of tariffs," the Motor and Equipment Manufacturers Association said in a statement, adding that it was "alarmed and dismayed." "It is critical that our industry have the opportunity to review the recommendations and advise the White House on how proposed tariffs, if they are recommended, will put jobs at risk, impact consumers, and trigger a reduction in U.S. investments that could set us back decades." Representatives from the White House and the Commerce Department could not immediately be reached. The industry has warned that possible tariffs of up to 25 percent on millions of imported cars and parts would add thousands of dollars to vehicle costs and potentially devastate the U.S economy by slashing jobs. Administration officials have said tariff threats on autos are a way to win concessions from Japan and the EU. Last year, Trump agreed not to impose tariffs as long as talks with the two trading partners were proceeding in a productive manner. "We believe the imposition of higher import tariffs on automotive products under Section 232 and the likely retaliatory tariffs against U.S. auto exports would undermine - and not help - the economic and employment contributions that FCA, US, Ford Motor Company and General Motors make to the U.S. economy," said former Missouri Governor Matt Blunt, the president of the American Automotive Policy Council. Some Republican lawmakers have also said they share the industry's concerns. In a statement issued on Monday, Republican Congresswoman Jackie Walorski said she fears the Commerce Department's report could "set the stage for costly tariffs on cars and auto parts." "President Trump is right to seek a level playing field for American businesses and workers, but the best way to do that is with a scalpel, not an axe," she added.

Ford recalls 462,000 SUVs over faulty rear camera

Fri, Jan 27 2023

Ford has had some issues with its backup cameras in recent years, and the troubles are continuing with yet another recall announced today. In this recall, certain Ford and Lincoln vehicles equipped with the 360-degree parking camera could lose the rear-view camera feed. The newest recall affects some 462,000 vehicles worldwide, Reuters reports, including 382,759 in the U.S. under NHTSA recall 23V-022. The recall applies to the 2020-2023 Ford Explorer and Lincoln Aviator, as well as the 2020-2022 Lincoln Corsair. The remedy involves dealers updating the vehicles’ image processing module software free of charge. This latest issue expands a previous recall, and applies to vehicles that have already been serviced under recall 21V-735. Owners will be notified by mail around February 20, and owners can also contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332. Ford told NHTSA that it first became aware in October 2021 of a small number of complaints of a blue screen from the rear camera feed on vehicles that had already been repaired. Ford worked with suppliers to track down the potential issue, and said warranty claims remained low until December 2022, when it started to see more claims for blue screens in vehicles produced after the last remedy, at which point Ford ordered a stop-ship on those vehicle lines. Ford said itÂ’s aware of 17 minor accident reports related to the issue, but no injuries. In addition to this recall, Ford has had other camera issues in the past few years that resulted in recalls. NHTSA recall 22V-151 applied to 2021-2022 Edge SUVs experiencing “a distorted, black and white, or discolored screen” when reversing. 2021-2022 Ford Broncos had an issue where the rear-view camera would remain on even after the vehicle was put back into a forward gear. Last year, Ford recalled 330,000 Mustangs for faulty cameras, as well as 277,000 Super Duty trucks over foggy rear-view cameras. In 2021, NHTSA opened an investigation into whether Ford was slow to recall more than 620,000 vehicles for faulty cameras. Recalls Ford Lincoln Safety Crossover SUV
