This is my restored 1985 Mustang GT, 5.0 H.O. Convertible. For those of you out there looking to buy this car wholesale, you just as well stop reading right now. I'm not selling to give it away. I'm selling to make money off of my hard work and investment.I do not have to sell this car,so don't look here for a bargain. With that said, for those of you wanting a nice car, I purchased this car off an Ebay auction and have went through the entire car and invested over $10,000 and many hours along the way. I don't have to sell the car for anyone looking for a bargain. The engine and transmission were professionally overhauled locally. The original CFI set up was converted to an Edelbrock intake with a 600 cfm Edelbrock Carburetor. All new. This is a numbers matching engine and transmission. I have replaced the top with a glass rear window. Factory fog lights w/covers. It has a new tinted winshield. The struts and shocks on all four corners are all new as well as the front disc brake pads and rotors and the rear wheel drum brakes and new drums & all attaching springs, etc. The exhaust is new with headers and dual Flow Masters. There is no catalytic converters on this car. Not required at this age. The interior has the original seats which are white and are in very good condition. The dash hull was replaced as well as the console. The speedometer was changed over to a 140 mph replacement. The dash pad is also new along with the carpet. All new rubber moldings.everywhere. The stereo is a Pioneer single CD system with new speakers front & rear. The tires are new and are BF Goodrich with the correct size. The A/C works great! It has all new hoses and cores and is still operating with R12 and is cold. Everything works...even the windshield washer. There is no cruise control.....sorry. I did replace the steering wheel with one I thought looked better. I will add some more photos including the interior soon. The car handles like it did back in the 80's. It's not a cushy ride........It's a firm ride that connects you to the road. It does make "convertible" noises. It's not a quiet car. I am selling this car because I do not really drive it enough and it needs to be driven. It has only a 1,000 miles on the re-build. There are a few minor things that need to be done that will not cost any money but just a little time. The windows need some tweeking in the adjustment area. They go up and down fine, but I think they could do better. The motors are not new, but do have new cams. All of the adjustment is easy to access. The car needs to be driven to round out the tires. They do have a flat spots from sitting for periods of time. Just to let you know, I start and drive this car weekly if not several times a week. I just never drove it for any long distances. It always had fresh gas and never sat long enough for the battery to go down. It's a great car and would make anyone a great car to enjoy. The paint was done a couple of years ago and is very good job but not the greatest. The car was originally white. I chose the current color because I thought with the white top, it looked more impressive. If you have any questions, please feel free to ask. I have all of the receipts of all the work that has been done and all the parts that have been purchased. I also have a lot ofor extra parts, Ford shop manuals, and skematic plans that will go with the car. Remember, this is a classic and it's not perfect, but it will still get plenty of looks and runs great. Good luck and I hope it finds a new home. Thank you for looking, and by the way, the car is also for sale locally and I may the end the auction early if necessary. Car is sold as is. No warranty. If any requested work is to be done prior to turning over vehicle to new owner, such work with any costs, would be agreed upon by both parties.

24 Hours of Le Mans live update part two
Sun, Jun 19 2016We tasked surfing journalist Rory Parker to watch this year's live stream of the 2016 24 Hours of Le Mans. What follows is an experiment to experience the world's greatest endurance race from the perspective of a motorsports novice. Parker lives in Hawaii and can hold his breath longer than he can go without swearing. For Part One, click here. Or you can skip ahead to Part Three here. I write about surfing for a living. If you can call it a living. Basically means I spend my days fucking around and my wife pays for everything. Because she's got a real job that pays well. Brings home the bacon. Very progressive arrangement. Super twenty first century. I run a surf website, beachgrit.com, with two other guys. It's a strange gig. More or less uncensored. Kind of popular. Very good at alienating advertisers. My behavior has cost us a few bucks. I'm terrible at self-censorship. Know there's a line out there, no idea where it lies. I still don't understand any of the technical side. Might as well be astrophysics or something. For contests I do long rambling write ups. They rarely make much sense. Mainly just talk about my life, whatever random thoughts pop into my head. "Can you do something similar for Le Mans?" "Sure, but I know absolutely fuck-all about racing." "That's okay. Just write what you want." "Will do. But you're gonna need to edit my stuff. Probably censor it heavily." So here I am. I spent the last week trying to learn all I can about the sport of endurance racing. But there's only so much you can jam in your head. And I still don't understand any of the technical side. Might as well be astrophysics or something. While I rambled things were happening. Tracy Krohn spun into the gravel on the Forza chicane. #89 is out of the race after an accident I missed. Pegasus racing hit the wall on the Porsche curves. Bashed up front end, in the garage getting fixed. Toyota and Porsche are swapping back and forth in the front three. Ford back in the lead in GTE Pro. #91 Porsche took a stone through the radiator, down two laps. Not good. The wife and I are one of those weird childless couples that spend way too much time caring for the needs of their pet. French bulldog, Mr Eugene Victor Debs. Great little guy. Spent the last four years training him to be obedient and friendly. Nice thing about dogs, when you're sick of dealing with them you can just lock 'em in another room for a few hours. You don't need to worry about paying for college.
Ford Detroit stand map clearest evidence yet of new GT, Mustang GT350R, SVT Raptor
Fri, Jan 9 2015An anonymous tipster has leaked a map of Ford's display stand plans for next week's Detroit Auto Show, and the schematic contains some interesting details that supports the idea of a Ford GT revival, as well as the presence of the rumored Shelby Mustang GT350R and F-150 SVT Raptor. The map, used by workers to help erect the Blue Oval's Cobo Hall display, maps out a show with a performance-heavy influence, with a codenamed vehicle, "Phoenix" sitting front and center, flanked by "Hummingbird 2" and "F-150 SVT Raptor Teaser." Our sources within Ford have confirmed that Phoenix is the long-rumored GT successor (a notion furthered by the presence of a pair of historic GT40s shown near the display entrance), and Hummingbird 2 refers to the GT350R (note also that there's a "Mustang Historic" GT350R on its own dais nearby). We've also learned that while the Raptor is labeled "Teaser," our Ford source assures us this is effectively the production truck. Rumors of a neo Ford GT have been picking up speed for months now, and we've been led to believe that this new car will have motorsports applications firmly on its mind, but it won't follow in the same retro-steeped design footsteps of its 2005-2006 forbearer. While the map does show Focus models on display, including the performance-oriented ST, we note that there isn't a spot seemingly earmarked for the rumored next-generation Focus RS, which has been the subject of the Motown rumormill for some time. Instead, we expect to see Ford's hottest hatch bow at the Geneva Motor Show in March. Even without a Focus RS revival, the Ford stand is shaping up to be a high-performance, high-horsepower showing, and we're excited to see if the Blue Oval can steal the show come Monday. John Hennessey's personal 2015 HPE700 Supercharged Ford Mustang GT hits 195 mph
Wed, Feb 11 2015Dressed in a coat of menacing black paint, the 2015 Hennessey Performance HPE700 Supercharged Ford Mustang GT definitely looks like one mean muscle machine. The 717-horsepower 'Stang proved that it can back up that aggressive appearance recently when company founder John Hennessey took his personal example to see just how fast it would go. The result down the 1.1-mile straight at the Continental Tires Proving Grounds in Uvalde, Texas, was over 195 miles per hour. The Mustang is nothing but a black blur and wall of supercharger wail as it buzzes by the camera at top speed. Despite the strong result, Hennessey doesn't seem done with the 'Stang yet. The car still seems to be pulling when it hits the rev limiter, and there's some straight track left ahead. After getting out, John Hennessey immediately says he thinks 200 mph is possible. The heart of the HPE700 is a 2.9-liter Roots-Type supercharger running at 7.25 psi. That's a pretty massive blower, especially when considering the 2.4-liter unit on the Hellcat V8. The engine also gets upgrades like improved injectors, a new fuel pump, stainless steel exhaust and recalibrated management. The company claims the upgraded Mustang can hit 60 in around 3.6 seconds and do the quarter-mile in 11.2 seconds at 131 mph. Prices for the package start at $59,500, but this one would would ring up for $65,874. Hennessey Performance is limiting production to 500 of them for the 2015 model year. 2015 HPE700 Supercharged Mustang Rockets to 195.2 mph John Hennessey takes his personal Mustang GT on a Texas road trip Uvalde, Texas-Everything is bigger in Texas, especially when it comes to automotive performance. Texas also lays claim to the highest posted speed limit in America at 85 mph. Enter the team from Hennessey Performance Engineering (HPE) who are located just west of Houston. John Hennessey and his merry band of performance car builders like to go fast, so much so that they have their own 1/4 mile dragstrip next to their workshop. Recently, the Hennessey team wanted to test their 717 horsepower HPE700 Supercharged Mustang development car (John's personal car and occasional daily driver) beyond the 130+ mph speeds that they have seen on the dragstrip. "Thankfully, we had recently received an invitation from the guys at the Continental Tires proving grounds in Uvalde to come over and do some testing on their 8.0 mile high speed oval", said Hennessey.
