Offering a 1968 Mustang Fastback 2x2. This car has been sitting for a few years. It's a true 289 2v v8 C4 Auto transmission. It has a Holley 4 barrel on it now. The door tag indicates that this was scheduled for build in Sept 14, 67 and was actually produced in Nov 1967 (Marti Report below). I have not attempted to run this car. The person I purchased it from indicated that it "blew a head gasket" and the car has sat ever since outdoors in a driveway. He was the second owner as the title shows he had purchased it in 10/80. This car has been untouched in many years. I have done nothing with this car except find it and post it on eBay. This car would be a great candidate for ground up restoration. Underneath the car would need work as it is rusted! - I'm not a auto body guy but I can see the need for floor pans (example: for sale here on eBay for sale here on eBay) as under this car is rusted! A few notables about this 68, the dash cluster has a tack and clock (I've read that that was fairly rare). It also has Shelby Cobra style rims (need restored) that were added sometime in the past as well as the back window louvers (great shape) as you can see this in the picture.

I went ahead for a few dollars and purchased the Marti Report and can be viewed here.

For the demand as many, in more capable hands then mine, are building Bullitt's and Eleanor's out of them I can see the profit in this car. So there is a reserve. If you hit it, you will have yourself a nice project and in the end a beautiful and profitable car.

Thanks for looking and happy bidding! Contact me with additional questions.

Happy to assist in shipping - meaning you pay for it but I will work with you and your shipper for scheduling and to get it on the truck.

Ex-PR chief Vines accuses Ford of bugging cars, phones

Fri, 24 Oct 2014

Jason Vines, former head of communications at Ford among other automakers, is accusing the Blue Oval of bugging his company phone and his car during the Firestone tire recall for the Explorer in 2001. The allegations have come to light in Vines' upcoming book What Did Jesus Drive? Crisis PR in Cars, Computers and Christianity.
According to The Detroit News, which has an advance copy of the book, Vines (pictured above) claims that after leaving the company, someone with security within Ford advised him that he had been bugged around the time of the recall. The allegations don't stop there, though. Vines further contends that he might not have been the only one to get this treatment, noting that then-general counsel John Rintamaki also believed he was being listened to.
According to The Detroit News, even if it had been a company phone, recording Vines without his knowledge still would have been a felony under Michigan law.

Ford Fiesta ST orders off to strong start

Fri, 17 May 2013

We at Autoblog love the new little Ford Fiesta ST, and apparently, folks in Europe are pretty impressed with it, as well. According to Ford, the automaker's European arm has already logged 3,000 orders for the new hot hatch since it hit dealerships this March. The US-spec car, which will only be available as a five-door, will go on sale in the United States this summer.
What's perhaps most interesting about the Fiesta ST ordering is that the majority of customers appear to be ordering high-spec cars. According to Ford data, 60 percent of customers have opted for the leather interior with Recaro buckets, and 90 percent have selected the upgraded 17-inch wheels (seen on our test car, above). Spirit Blue has been the most popular color, commanding 27 percent of all orders. As for the technology upgrades, 19 percent of customers have ponied up for the Sony stereo with navigation.
To recap, the Fiesta ST is offered with Ford's 1.6-liter EcoBoost four-cylinder engine, putting out 179 horsepower and 177 pound-feet of torque, mated exclusively to a six-speed manual transmission. We had an absolute blast flinging the hot Fiesta through the French Alps, and we can't wait for this sharp little hatch to make its way over to the States.

Ford recalling nearly 700k Escape CUVs, C-Max hybrids over two separate safety issues

Fri, 09 May 2014

Poor Escape. Ever since its launch in 2012, Ford's small CUV has been the subject of many, many, many recalls. And today, The Detroit News is reporting that Ford is adding two more recalls to the 2013-14 model year Escape's permanent record, one of them also involves the C-Max hybrid hatchback.
The first recall, covering 692,500 Escape and C-Max vehicles, is due to a software glitch that could cause the airbags - specifically, the safety canopy - to not deploy in a timely fashion during rollover crashes. According to the News, Ford says no crashes or injuries have been reported in relation to this problem.
The second recall, covering 692,700 Escapes, is related to the door handles. The News reports that the exterior door handles could open while the vehicle is in motion, and could also fail to latch properly. Once again, no crashes or injuries have occurred because of this. The National Highway Safety Traffic Administration has not issued an official notice on either recall as of this writing.
