Up for auction is a true 74k original miles, matching numbers J code 4 speed deluxe car that was special ordered and is likely a 1 of 1. There were only 2800 1968 J code 4spds to begin with, not taking into account all the options this car has. Some of those options include: Factory air (have all parts) Deluxe interior Upper and lower consoles Visibility group 300:1 ratio rear end And more.. Disc brakes were added later to give this car more stopping power. This car was a one owner car until 2000 when the owner died, and the car went to a distant cousin who owned it until 2011. I am the fourth owner and have lots of receipts and some that support its low mileage. In the pics you will see lots of paperwork, including the original warranty card. I have also included pics of the partial VINs stamped into the block and transmission case. The transmission still looks brand new inside! This car has zero rust and all the panels are amazing. Its only had one repaint and is in matte black right now needing almost no body work before paint. This car is absolutely rust free and looks like panels are original with only a small section of sheet metal replacement done in the engine compartment years ago. I know what I have and if you are into these cars you do too. This car is original, and although it is in good shape it could use some freshening up as far as refinishing some of the interior chrome, minor trim pieces, and things like that. The car needs a new grill piece and trim. To have this car with the paperwork and such that I have is truly rare. The entire front suspension has already been rebuilt with grab a trak from mustangs plus. The engine and transmission are solid, and with the mad ignition, long tubed headers and full flowmaster exhaust, this thing is awesome. This thing runs and drives great. It sounds amazing. I will try to get a video up before the auction is over.   Please contact me with any questions.

Chip Foose tastefully enhances his personal Ford GT

Wed, 05 Nov 2014

Typically, we'd expect a vehicle from 2006 to fall well short of a more modern vehicle, both in terms of performance and style. Of course, the Ford GT is not your average offering from the Bush era. That's doubly true when the 2006 GT in question belongs to one Chip Foose.
Purchased by his wife as a 50th birthday present, Foose is showing his custom, personalized GT at the 2014 SEMA Show. The 5.4-liter supercharged V8 breathes a bit easier thanks to a full Magnaflow Performance exhaust, but Foose's GT isn't all about the performance.
Instead, the car customizer extraordinaire has focused on tasteful aesthetic enhancement, tweaking the rear end by removing the bumper and trimming the frame extensions. The wheels, meanwhile, are one-off aluminum alloys, designed by Foose himself. Like the stripes, the wheels feature orange accenting.

George W. Bush's 2009 Ford F-150 fizzles with $300,000 bid at Barrett-Jackson [UPDATE: w/video]

Sun, 20 Jan 2013

Despite some truly impassioned pleading from Jay Leno himself - including calling on Arizona's notoriously Republican-rich voters to beat the $600,000 level set the last time Leno sold a vehicle for this particular charity... in California - bidding for George Bush's 2009 Ford F-150 pickup truck stalled at $300,000.
All proceeds will be sent to the Fisher House Foundation, so at least it's $300K going to a good cause. Feel free to check out the live image gallery above, which includes shots showing Leno's skills helming the auction, and read through the official auction description below.
*UPDATE: Video of the auction and Leno's prods to the crowd for more money can now be seen below.

Exceptionally rare '65 Ford GT40 Roadster prototype up for auction

Sat, 14 Jun 2014

Think of mid-engined supercars and your mind is bound to gravitate towards Europe, but the United States has been known to make a handful from time to time - exceptional vehicles from the likes of Vector, SSC, Mosler, Hennessey, and Saleen. But long before any of those came around, Ford famously became obsessed with beating Ferrari at its own game, leading to the development of the iconic GT40.
The story is well known, sending Ford to the checkered flag at Le Mans four times in a row in the late 1960s. Ford and Shelby also built over 100 for public consumption, but just four of them were roadsters. Of those only one remains in original condition, and now that exceedingly rare example going up for auction.
Consigned to RM Auctions for its mid-August sale during Pebble Beach weekend in Monterey, California, this 1965 model is the first GT40 Roadster built. It was used as a development and demonstration vehicle for Ford and Shelby. Carroll Shelby himself drove Henry Ford II in this very car during one of many test and demo events, this time held for Ford's board of directors in Los Angeles.
