Up for auction is this 1966 "RESTORED" Mustang, "NO RESERVE", Numbers Matching car.  This little beauty comes equipped with numbers matching 289 engine and automatic transmission, and power steering.

The engine just had a complete tune up, which included wires, plugs, points, condenser etc. and a new rebuilt carburetor.  The  Engine runs really smooth and very strong.  A complete Dual Exhaust system with turbo mufflers was just installed, so it has that great sound.

During the restoration, I replaced all the chrome from bumper to bumper.  All of the window gears were serviced, so they roll up and down with ease, and the fuzzies were replaced.  All new rubber was installed on the doors, and the trunk seal, along with a new trunk mat.  Everything on the interior was replaced:  new carpet, seat covers, new foam on seats, door panels, arm rests, sill plates, seat belts, door handles, window cranks, dash pad, and headliner to match interior.  All inside metal was painted in the parchment, to match the upholstery.  All gauges work properly, all interior lights, turning signals, parking lights etc.  There is no rust on this car.  It is a very solid car.  The brakes are like new, as well as the tires and the American Racing Wheels.  The car was painted with the GT look about 8 months ago.  This mustang comes fully equipped with Factory Air conditioning.  All the components are there, however, the a/c is not working.  I believe it needs charging and servicing.

I have described this vehicle to the best of my ability.  All inspections are encouraged and welcome, PRIOR to the end of auction.   Please call for an appointment to  inspect the Mustang, or send an inspector.

Please call Mike with any questions or for an appointment.

GM also sheds parts from its pickups to boost payload ratings

Thu, 31 Jul 2014

The row between Ford and Ram over who boasts the best-in-class tow rating for heavy duty pickups has revealed a number of things. Chief among them is a report that Ford removes items like the spare tire, jack, radio and center console from its vehicles in a bid to lower its base curb weight and therefore keep the truck's gross vehicle weight rating down.
For those that need a refresher, GVWR is the vehicle's curb weight plus its maximum payload. A lower GVWR allows Ford to station its F-450 among the so-called Class III pickups, despite the fact that internally, it has the makings of a more brutish Class IV truck.
Ford explains away these deletions, saying a customer could order their vehicle in such a manner. It has also come to light that Ford is not the only automaker to engage in such practices.

Chip Ganassi Racing switches to the Ford EcoBoost-powered Riley Daytona Prototype

Wed, 06 Nov 2013

Chip Ganassi Racing with Felix Sabates (CGRFS) announced yesterday at Ford's SEMA press conference that it will field a Ford-Riley Daytona Prototype with the 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6 in the 2014 United SportsCar Championship (USCC). CGRFS is the second team to commit to the new Ford-Riley car, behind Michael Shank Racing (which has already used the racecar to break a 26-year-old top-speed record at Daytona International Speedway).
"Over the last 10 seasons we have been able to experience a great deal of success in Grand-Am," Chip Ganassi says, "and now with the dawn of the new United SportsCar Championship we feel that Ford power will be a key ingredient to writing the next chapter of our sports car program."
In the last Grand-Am season, CGRFS raced a BMW-Riley Daytona Prototype. The team has won seven Daytona Prototype championships, all in the past ten years. Scott Pruett and Memo Rojas return as the team's prototype co-drivers, and will attend their maiden race in the Ford-Riley at the Rolex 24 at Daytona in January.

Ford dealer gives James Robertson new 2015 Taurus

Fri, Feb 6 2015

James Robertson, the 56-year-old Detroit native famous for walking 21 miles to work each day for the last 10 years, is behind the wheel again thanks to a gift from a Ford dealer. Robertson became an Internet sensation when the story about his daily ordeal came to light, and a GoFundMe campaign initially hoped to raise $5,000 to buy him a new ride. As of this writing, it has reached over $300,000. He didn't have to dip into any of that money to buy the new car, though. According to The Detroit Free Press, Suburban Ford of Sterling Heights, MI, heard about Robertson's story of never being late to work and having perfect attendance. The dealer is donating a fully loaded, red 2015 Taurus to him. It's not one of our choices, but certainly nothing to sneeze at. Robertson started walking to work in 2005 when his Honda broke down. According to the GoFundMe page, his job is about 23 miles away, but thanks to Detroit's poor bus network, he covers about 21 miles of that round-trip trek on foot each day.
