Up for auction is my 87 Ford Mustang 5.0L LX Coupe. This is one of my favorite cars but i am putting it up for auction because i have too many collector cars at the moment and i do not have the time to drive them all.

This mustang is the most solid mustang i have owned and ive had my share of mustangs. It does not rattle or fall apart going over bumps or rail road tracks. Since i have owned the car i have invested a large
sum of money in restoring it. The paint job is less then a year old and cost over $2500, there is not a single scratch on the car. The entire suspension is new, it has new shocks and a tubular K-Member in the front with
street level springs for a smoother ride. The motor was also freshly rebuilt about 650 miles ago and runs like a champ. New motor mounts were installed in the process. Its been upgraded with simple bolt ons like air intake,
exhaust system, pulleys, throttle body and hooker super comp long tube headers. The transmission has a new clutch and shifts into every gear perfectly. I believe it needs a firewall clutch adjuster though because you need
to push the clutch pedal down all the way to get it into gear. The vehicle also has new Headlights and emblems. I also had a new tilt steering column installed which is amazing. I don't have the steering column cover installed
at the moment but it will come with the car. The only thing i noticed it needs is an alignment, it drives fine but with the new k-member it could use it. I would also recommend getting it detailed, it has not been properly detailed
in a while and it could use it. Im selling the mustang as-is where is, if you have any questions feel free to ask any time before the auction is over. This
auction is NO RESERVE so the highest bidder owns the vehicle for what ever the final bid amount is. Good luck and have fun bidding!

1964 Ford GT40 prototype to be auctioned in April

Wed, 12 Mar 2014

The Ford GT40 owns a firm spot on the list of the greatest American racecars ever made, being the first car from the United States to take an overall win in the 24 Hours of Le Mans. And now Mecum will auction what it claims is second-oldest GT40 still in existence at its Houston sale on April 12.
The story of the GT40 is fascinating. Henry Ford II attempted to buy Ferrari in the early '60s, but Enzo refused. Ford decided if he couldn't have them, then he would beat the Prancing Horse on the track. Ford went to Carroll Shelby and asked him to spearhead the program. The early cars combined a steel monocoque chassis with Ford's 4.2-liter V8 engine pumping out around 350 horsepower. The first prototype made its public debuted on April 1, 1964, at the New York Auto Show.
Shelby kept building prototypes, including GT/104, which is for sale here. This version featured a lighter steel chassis and was raced at Le Mans in 1964. However, a fire forced it to retire. It was then repainted and had a 4.7-liter (289-cubic-inch) engine fitted. The chassis had its best finish at the 1965 Daytona Continental 2,000 Kilometers where it finished third with Bob Bondurant and Ritchie Ginther behind the wheel. Later that season, it was shipped back to Ford where it was restored and displayed at auto shows until 1971 when the automaker sold it. Since then, it has had many private owners.

Ford set to target pre-school market with next F-150 variant

Tue, Jun 17 2014

How do you build a strong group of loyalists from the next generation of American drivers? You start em' young. Ford has taken that lesson to heart, as we can see in the first batch of images of the company's new entry to the pre-school market, the Power Wheels F-150. This particular example was caught returning from testing around Ford's base of operations in Dearborn, MI – covered in tiny little bits of camouflage, too. Now, this could very well end up being a collaboration between Power Wheels and Ford. Then again, it could just be some bored engineers that decided to troll the local congregation of spy photographers, who earlier today captured images of the next Focus RS and SVT Mustang. Whatever it is, it's pretty darn cool. Take a look up top for images of the new Power Wheels F-150.

3dCarbon now offering body kit for Ford Fusion

Tue, 01 Oct 2013

A factory-backed body kit by 3dCarbon is now available to Ford Fusion owners who want their car to stand out from the crowd while not being too flashy. The body kit adds a more aggressive front spoiler, side skirts, rear body trim and spoiler that are, in fact, integrated quite nicely into the Fusion's already-comely styling, just as 3dCarbon claims. All Fusions with the kit also receive dual exhaust ports with the stainless-steel exhaust surrounds usually reserved for the Titanium package Fusion EcoBoost models.
A nice detail of 3dCarbon's injection-molded urethane body kit is that it has undergone crash testing to certify that it can withstand crashes up to five miles per hour. Because of this, the kit is warrantied by 3dCarbon for five years or 50,000 miles, much like Ford's warranty on its own parts. In fact, the kit is available through participating Ford dealers and can be financed through Ford Motor Credit. Buyers can purchase the kit - pre-painted or unpainted - and install it themselves, or it can be purchased with a new Ford Fusion and installed at the dealer, pre-painted to factory specifications. Of course, it can also be ordered directly from the source. Take a look at the press release below for more detailed information on the body kit, and let us know what you think of it in Comments.
