Up for auction is a 1927 Ford Model T Roadster Hot Rod / Rat Rod Project. This is an original steel body! That means you get real doors! This is a fun little car with a 1971 Ford FE390 V8 in it! It gets up and goes. The whole thing sits on a custom boxed steel frame. The front grille is off a 1937 Chevy with custom insert. Currently has aluminum mag wheels with 15x7 up front and 15x10 in the rear. I also have a set of steel wheels I can throw in with it, but they are a different bolt pattern as I was getting ready to install disc brakes. This is a project and needs to be finished, but a lot of the hard work is done already. The car needs brakes, lines, and master cylinder; floor pans and interior; wiring and gauges (comes with brand new Rebel 4 circuit harness still in the box); transmission bracket needs to be re-welded (I was going to cut out the current one and install a different one); shifter (I'll throw in a B&M shifter that needs the C6 linkage); it also needs a windshield. I have a roadster windshield frame that comes with it, but would need to be cut down and fitted. This is a great project car and looks sweet. This is a no reserve auction, so bid to win!   NO TITLE.  I will give a very detailed itemized bill of sale. Thank you for looking. And, of course, car is sold as-is; where is.   No warranty is offered or implied.  I will help load the car, but buyer is responsible for all shipping and pick up costs. Thanks Again!

How the Ford Shelby Mustang came to be

Fri, 20 Sep 2013

Even as rumors swirl that the next-generation of high-performance Ford Mustang will drop the Shelby name, Ford has released a short video telling how the legend of the Shelby Mustang came to be. In its latest installment of its video series entitled Mustang Countdown, Ford dug up some footage from Carroll Shelby to give a little insight into how this automotive icon was created.
While it's definitely interesting to hear the late legend tell the story in his own words (including numerous references to the 1964 Mustang as a "secretary's car"), it's also pretty funny learning exactly how the Shelby GT350 got its name in the first place - a name allegedly making a comeback as the replacement for the current Shelby GT500. As development work continues on the 2015 Ford Mustang, the Shelby video posted below shows that the automaker is always looking at its past - even as it looks ahead to the future.

Ford F-150 EcoBoost in NHTSA probe for acceleration issue

Tue, 28 May 2013

According to Automotive News, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration is launching a probe into 400,000 Ford F-150 models over possible acceleration problems. According to the article, NHTSA has received 95 reports "alleging incidents of reduced engine power during hard accelerations" on 2011 to 2013 F-150 models equipped with the company's 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6 engine.
Automotive News reports that Ford has issued three technical service bulletins "related to intermittent stumble/misfire on acceleration from highway cruise in humid or damp conditions," according to the government agency's documents. About one third of the 95 reports NHTSA has received cited humid or rainy conditions when these problems allegedly occurred.
These technical service bulletins have allowed dealers to address a "condition related to moisture accumulation in the charge air cooler during extended highway cruising at constant throttle in humid or damp conditions," AN reports, citing NHTSA documents. Furthermore, the TSB outlines details for "reprogramming the powertrain control module with the latest calibration and installing a new CAC and air deflector plate."

Ford will probably never offer two RS models at the same time

Mon, 18 Mar 2013

Autocar has some sour news for fans of go-fast Ford products. According to Roelant de Waard, Ford's president of marketing in Europe, the automaker will probably never offer more than one RS performance model for sale at the same time. That statement runs contrary earlier rumblings that suggested Ford would launch its next-generation Focus RS in 2015 and follow the hatch with a spate of other vehicles with an RS badge. But de Waard has made it clear that Ford of Europe is now focused on squarely on the next Mustang, even though there may be more RS models on the way eventually.
"What is clear is that the RS shouldn't be a series, or a car badge that we have in our portfolio all the time. It is an extreme car - something more than ST," he said.
That philosophy makes plenty of sense. We loved the old Focus RS - shown above in RS500 trim - because it was generally bonkers and plenty exclusive. Diluting either aspect is sure to end in disappointment for everyone involved.
