1927 Ford Model T Phaeton/touring on 2040-cars
Belfair, Washington, United States
1927 Ford Model "T" Phaeton/Touring May 26, 1927, Ford Motors halted production of the Model T and closed it assembly line for six months. Ford did not begin to sell cars again until October 20th, 1927. This meant in 1927 you could buy a Model "T" or a Model "A"titled as a 28. From January through May 1927, Only 221 Phaeton/Tourings were produced.Of the entire Model "T's" The 1927 Phaeton was the least produced T and production run ever for Ford. (Info from Ford Motor Company) In the earl y 70's, 40 or so years ago. Poli Form, in California was familiar with this car and invested 150K to develop 12, 27 Phaeton tubs and fenders formed from this cars original body. (This is the thickest, strongest tub body ever produced – no longer made) They converted to the new Tub and fenders, maintaining the original frame, springs , added a new front end, discs on front, tilt steering and all the original 1927 hardware items. Through most of the next 20 years this car was in storage. Since then, I’ve added a new dash, electrical system and more. 2013, All external parts on the engine, (dist., carb, ign.,alt. starter) where replaced new. {YES, IT has Originals Cragers, unblemished from the 70's} Also included are side curtains, only for pattern purpose, frames are good , fabric is not. I will answer all questions, preferably by phone for serious buyers. Compared to other similiar rigs, without as many features that have sold from 28K-42K , my reserve is quite low giving the buyer plenty of room for modifications to their taste and and opportunity for a rare car to make their own and later a recieve a substantial profit. This is a driver and there is minor work still to be done. What is left is to: Connect new installed gauges, lower firewall below steering column, and minor electrical connections.. Every thing to complete to show condition is included street rod, rat rod, custom, vintage, antique, show |

European jury picks finalists for 2015 Car of the Year
Tue, Dec 16 2014There are countless Car of the Year awards handed out each year, and naturally, Europe has its own way of doing things. Every year, a panel of jurists representing seven publications in seven different languages and seven different countries get together to name their joint Car of the Year. The panel released a list of 32 candidates back in July, and it has now whittled that list down to seven nominees. The list consists of the BMW 2 Series Active Tourer, the Citroen C4 Cactus (shown), the Ford Mondeo, the Mercedes-Benz C-Class, the Nissan Qashqai, the Renault Twingo and the Volkswagen Passat. Of those seven, only two are available in the US – those being the Mondeo (sold Stateside as the Fusion) and the C-Class. The Passat is an entirely different model in North America, the Qashqai isn't offered here, Citroen and Renault don't even participate in our market and the BMW 2 Series is represented here only by the completely different coupe and convertible. Expect the one and only recipient of the 2015 Car of the Year award to be announced at the Geneva Motor Show this coming March, and while you're waiting, you can place your guesses for the eventual winner in Comments. Ford Fiesta rally car warms up in Sweden
Tue, 18 Mar 2014Rallycross is seeing a sudden surge in popularity with two series bringing the racing to the US and Europe. The Ford OMSE team is competing in both championships this season, and it saw no reason not to hold practice with a highly modified Fiesta in the snow of Northern Sweden. It brought together Andreas Bakkerud from the European-focused FIA World Rallycross Championship and Patrik Sandell from the North American-focused Global Rallycross series for some training and fun. They certainly appear to be enjoying themselves, too, with some lovely pirouettes in the powder.
If you're unfamiliar with rallycross, the discipline combines the best of rallying and circuit racing. Drivers (with no co-drivers) race rally cars over a circuit that generally mixes dirt and asphalt, and unlike traditional rallying, multiple cars compete side-by-side at once. Even better, it's often a very two-fisted form of motorsports with lots of car-to-car contact. Global Rallycross and World Rallycross will both kick off their seasons in May. With spring on the way, scroll down to watch the Fiesta kick up some of the last snow drifts of the year.
Ford of Europe celebrates Mondeo's 20th anniversary
Wed, 25 Sep 2013Ford's European operations are celebrating a milestone of sorts as the Mondeo, the Blue Oval's bread-and-butter D-segment sedan in the old country, celebrates its 20th anniversary. The mid-sizer, which was sold in the US for a short time as the Contour, has been a far more popular vehicle in Europe - even receiving regular praise from one Jeremy Clarkson.
Narrated by Cockney actor Ray Winstone, the video goes through the Mondeo's years and how it's evolved from 1993 to the as-yet-unreleased fifth-generation model, which is essentially the same as the Ford Fusion that's sold in America. Take a look below for the full video from Ford of Europe.
