NICE DRIVING LITTLE CAR. WAS A 1998 RESTORATION BY OTHERS. WE HAVE OWNED IT ABOUT 6-7 YEARS. HAVE DRIVEN THIS IN THE SUMMER AS MUCH AS 100 MILES, AND USUALLY AROUND TOWN WHEN EVER THE WEATHER PERMITS SUMMER OR WINTER. THE RESTORATION KEPT THE CAR ORIGINAL. CAR HAS ALWAYS HAD A DROP OF OIL UNDER IT THE SIZE OF A QUARTER, NEVER MORE NEVER LESS. THE INTERIOR HAS A FEW MOTH HOLES, NOT BIG IN THE HEAD LINER. THEY WERE THERE WHEN WE BOUGHT IT. WE HAVE ALWAYS KEPT THE CAR IN AN AIRCONDITIONED/ HEATED SHOP, SO NOTHING HAS CHANGED OVER THE YEARS WE HAVE OWNED IT.ALL GLASS IS GOOD AND ALL WINDOWS GO UP AND DOWN. DOORS AND HOOD ALL FIT PROPERLY. WHAT ELSE CAN I SAY ITS A 30'S CAR AND YOU COULD DRIVE IT HOME IF YOU HAD THE TIME. AT 45 MPH YOU AIN'T IN NO HURRY!!. THE RUBBER IS ALL GOOD AND IT HAS A SPARE, SO ITS READY TO GO. CAR HAS 77000. MILES ON IT. ACTUAL MILAGE DOES NOT EXCEED 78000.I GUESTIMATED THE 77343, CUZ I CAN'T REMEMBER AND THE CAR IS NOT WHERE MY COMPUTER IS AND ITS RAINING OUT. BUT I AM SURE OF THE 77000. THANKS SEND ME A MESSAGE IF INTERESTED AND I WILL GO LOOK AT EXACT MILAGE FOR YOU.

Ford hybrid sales rebound following MPG controversy
Sun, 31 Aug 2014Ford hybrid customers apparently have very short memories. With two EPA fuel economy reratings in the last year, sales of the C-Max, Fusion Hybrid and Lincoln MKZ haven't been too terribly dented, Ward's Auto reports.
All three vehicles saw sales dips following the August 2013 rerating, although sales of the MKZ Hybrid had begun to rebound as early as November of that year. C-Max sales, meanwhile, took slightly longer, with sales on a steadily improving course as early as February of this year.
The second rerating, in June of this year, has had an even smaller effect on the Blue Oval's hybrids. The C-Max has actually been subject to a sales increase, while both the MKZ and Fusion saw minor sales drops (less than 400 units between the two in the month following the rerating).
Detroit 3 to implement delayed unified towing standards for 2015
Mon, 10 Feb 2014Car buyers have a responsibility to be well-informed consumers. That's not always a very simple task, but some guidelines are self-evident. If you live in a very snowy climate, you generally know a Ford Mustang or Chevrolet Camaro might not be as viable a vehicle choice as an all-wheel drive Explorer or Traverse, for example. If you want a fuel-efficient car, it's generally a good idea to know the difference between a diesel and a hybrid. But what if it's kind of tough to be an informed consumer? What if the information you need is more difficult to come by, or worse, based on different standards for each vehicle? Well, in that case, you might be a truck shopper.
For years, customers of light-duty pickups have had to suffer through different ratings of towing capacities for each brand. For 2015 model year trucks, though, that will no longer be a problem. According to Automotive News, General Motors, Ford and Chrysler Group have announced that starting with next year's models, a common standard will be used to measure towing capacity. The Detroit Three will join Toyota, which adopted the Society of Automotive Engineers' so-called SAE J2807 standards way back in 2011.
The standard was originally supposed to be in place for MY2013, but concerns that it would lower the overall stated capacity for trucks led Detroit automakers to pass. Ford originally passed, claiming it'd wait until its new F-150 was launched to adopt the new standards, leading GM and Ram to follow suit. Nissan, meanwhile, has said it will adopt the new standards as its vehicles are updated, meaning the company's next-generation Titan should adhere to the same tow ratings as its competitors.
2013 Ford Explorer Sport
Thu, 04 Apr 2013When one speaks of sporty and fun-to-drive utility vehicles, few would put the Ford Explorer in the same category as the Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT8, BMW X5 or Porsche Cayenne. Yet, with just a few reservations, I'd toss the new-for-2013 Ford Explorer Sport close to that arena for consideration.
As a recap, the sportiest of Explorers is fitted with Ford's twin-turbocharged 3.5-liter Ecoboost V6, making 365 horsepower and 350 pound feet of torque. Acceleration is brisk (figure about 7 seconds to 60 miles per hour), as power goes to all four wheels through a six-speed automatic transmission. Contributing to its more athletic demeanor are larger front brakes, a sport-tuned suspension, chassis upgrades, quicker steering ratio and a more aggressive wheel/tire package. Cosmetically, the Sport is distinguished by its blacked-out lights, black trim and noticeable lack of chrome (with the exception of the door handles).
Ford recently handed me the keys to a Ruby Red Metallic Explorer Sport. Rather than mindlessly drive the big seven-passenger all-wheel drive hauler in soccer mom circles around Los Angeles, I loaded up my family and embarked on a long weekend road trip to Yosemite National Park.
