1929 Ford Model A reproduction (1980 Shay Model A). Rare C-cab Panel Van, only 2 or 3 of this model were produced by Shay. This is a replica of a 1930 Model A as far as we can tell.

2.3 liter 4 cylinders, automatic, rack & pinion steering, front disc brakes. 11,847, believed to be actual, miles. Has original front door side curtains. Dual chrome Aoogha Horns need to be restored. The drive train is that of a 1980 Ford, the frame is custom-built for Shay. The body is all fiberglass, except for the engine hood. The original canvas that covered the fiberglass roof has deteriorated from the Arizona sun. It can either be replaced or the roof can be painted the same color as the vehicle when it is repainted. The vehicle will eventually need to be repainted. One of the rear door hinges is broken but the other rear door operates correctly. The side opening panels will need new locking arms but both do open, close and latch. One of the prior owners had installed what appears to be beer keg taps on the side opening panels.
Mechanically the vehicle appears to be sound. It has a new set of tires, new battery & a new master cylinder. All other mechanical components appear to be original. The automatic transmission has a small transmission fluid leak. There are no apparent engine or radiator leaks. The original exhaust pipe will need to be replaced.
The vehicle is fully functional and is being sold “as is”. It is not in show car condition and does need some TLC.
The vehicle has a clean Missouri title and is titled as a 1930 Ford Tudor.

Court puts kibosh on apartheid lawsuit against Ford, Daimler
Thu, 22 Aug 2013Ford and Daimler have scored a major victory in a long-running lawsuit filed in US federal court by unnamed South African nationals. The suit alleges that both manufacturers and their subsidiaries sold their vehicles to the South African military, despite knowing that they'd be involved in violently putting down anti-apartheid protesters.
According to Reuters, South African plaintiffs filed the case under the 223-year-old Alien Torts Statute, a law which allows foreign nationals to file charges in US courts for perceived breaches of what was originally international law, but now more closely relates to violations of human rights.
And while the case - which also involves computer manufacturer IBM - has been tied up in federal courts for years, a recent case from the Supreme Court struck down a similar suit against Royal Dutch Petroleum (Shell), arguing that the ATS doesn't apply to corporations or to conduct if it occurred outside the US. In short, the law applies to individuals, but not corporations like Ford or Daimler. A US appeals court ruled that the conditions apply in this case, potentially drawing this long-running saga to a close, as the defendants will now be allowed to request that the case be dismissed in district court.

On one recent Mustang SVT mule, the automaker went to the extreme of putting baffles over the exhausts to hide how many there were. Sounds like a lot of work, right? In a new video, the Blue Oval has decided to take fans behind the scenes to show them what it takes to camouflage a prototype. In this case the subject was the recently unveiled 2014 Falcon XR8 for Australia.
Ford's prototype build coordinator Down Under has the very appropriate name of Neil Trickey, and it's his job to obfuscate the important bits of test cars to keep them out of spy shooters' camera lenses. Trickey calls his job a "dark art," and he shows off some of the tricks of his trade in the video. It turns out that the fabric we often see on mules is a type of lycra, but his team isn't above getting out a can of spray paint to conceal parts, too.

SEMA crowns Mustang, FR-S as this year's hottest cars in the building
Wed, 31 Oct 2012After wrapping up the first day of the 2012 SEMA Show, organizers handed out awards for some of the trendiest vehicles on display. Since the whole point of SEMA is to show off new products available in the aftermarket world for use in cars, trucks and SUVs, each year, the show distinguishes the most popular vehicle in various segments. Not surprisingly, this year's Hottest Car and Hottest Sport Compact are the Ford Mustang and Scion FR-S, respectively, while the Ford F-Series brought home the Hottest Truck and the Jeep Wrangler was named the Hottest 4x4-SUV.
More than 2,000 companies are at this year's show, and the display booths represents a "vote" for each car to determing the trendiest vehicles in each of the four categories. It isn't clear if these awards also take cars brought by OEMs into account, but the Mustang and FR-S were definitely well represented by both OEM and aftermarket show versions.
As usual, the OEMs showed up in force at the this year's SEMA Show exhibiting a variety of cars ranging from production-intent cars like the beastly Ford Mustang Cobra Jet to much flashier rides like Scion's Carbon Stealth FR-S.
